"This recently refurbished hotel is a low-key, friendly establishment whose modern, understated rooms, commitment to local artists, and elegant cocktail bar and restaurant have made it popular with both visitors and locals. There’s no reception as such, and no elevator either. Instead, a dramatic spiral wooden staircase leads directly up to the rooms, which are decorated in smart, modern style, with colorful touches such as lime-green armchairs matched to wood paneling and natural, earthy tones."

We were greeted by Julia on our check in day. She was working inside the restaurant. And from that moment until the time we left a few days later she was always there to help us. She was exceptionally helpful. For two Americans who felt like fish out of water, this was a very nice gesture. My wife and I spent a lot of time in the bar because Julia was always there to be kind and serve us drinks but also Flo behind the bar is one of the best mixologists I have ever encountered. The Cuban drink influence was absolutely top notch. Great rum choices but the drinks were just incredible. The best I have ever had, and I sure have had a lot of great cocktails. Our Man Flo knows what he is doing. If you are not staying at the hotel this cocktail bar is a must to stop by. Thank you Flo and Julia for taking care of us on our trip. Danke schön!!!!!

The hotel was clean and the staff was so nice and attentive. The staff all serve as the housekeepers, waitresses, front desk attendants, and bartenders and did an amazing job considering the bar was jammed packed every night. I never felt unsafe and it's only a block or two from Marienplatz and the metro. The hotel is very boutique and the decor is vintage chic. This isn't a hotel with a bar below it, this is a bar with rooms above it. There are definitely things to consider before booking here, especially if you are a family.|1.) The bar below the rooms closes at 2am and is packed nightly. The street around the corner is very lively. It's very manageable if the windows are closed, which brings me to the next point...|2.) There's no air conditioning. We were there the last few days of May and unseasonably warm. We were melting. We had to have the windows open all day and night to get any relief. But we still didn't get any sleep because of the next point...|3.) There's only one triple bed room and it's on the floor directly above the bar. If we could've kept the window shut, this wouldn't have been a problem. But with the windows open the noise was horrible. It was like our beds were on the sidewalk. We heard every drum beat, every flirty laugh, the cigarette smoke, the alcohol, the singing from the street around the corner, the chants coming from the Marienplatz - in detail. Having the window open at night poses more issues in my next point...|4.) The windows in the front of the building were lit for accent lighting. Our windows were in the front. Every bug and spider in Munich descended upon our windows. But it was a catch 22 since would've cooked like a baked potato if we closed it.

My recent leisure trip to Munich, from June 8th to 12th, 2025, was transformed by the extraordinary hospitality I experienced at the Luxe Hotel. While the hotel's prime location in Munich provided a fantastic base for exploring the city, it was truly the staff that made my stay unforgettable.||My journey to Munich was fraught with significant travel issues, including missed flights and lost luggage. Arriving exhausted and a bit stressed, I was met with a level of empathy and proactive service that went far beyond the norm. The team at the Luxe Hotel immediately recognized my predicament and swiftly accommodated my every need. Imagine my relief and gratitude when I found bottled water and a small plate of food waiting for me upon arrival, a thoughtful gesture that spoke volumes. Even without my luggage, their preparedness and kindness made all the difference.||In an age where exceptional customer service often feels rare, the Luxe Hotel stands out as a shining example. Their dedication to guest well-being, particularly in challenging circumstances, is truly commendable. Every interaction was met with genuine care and a willingness to help that made a profound impact on my stay.||Overall, the Luxe Hotel is more than just a place to stay; it's a haven where guests are genuinely valued and cared for. I cannot speak highly enough about the exemplary customer service I received. This hotel is a definite recommendation for anyone visiting Munich, especially for those who appreciate truly outstanding hospitality.

Lovely boutique hotel. Perfect location. I searched for a mid price, well reviewed, walking distance from Marienplatz, hotel and was delighted with our choice. Easy walk from the subway, friendly English checkin, cozy bar, clean room, comfortable bed, bright windows and coffee! |Yes we knew it had no elevator and we intentionally traveled with backpacks, not suitcases for the trip. The 4 flights up the circular staircase weren’t daunting but we didn’t do them any more than we had too. We had a delightful stay. Highly recommend.

This is a beautiful boutique hotel! If you can stay here, do. We stayed on the fourth floor (if you have trouble with stairs, this is not the place for you) but that does not diminish the charm and comfort of the inn. You check in at the pub on the first floor, You can tell the staff loves the place, and are rightly very proud. If you like boutique hotels, this is an absolute gem! The art on the walls is lovely, the drinks in the bar are wonderful! Perfect!

The service was fantastic. The staff was super friendly and helpful. The location was perfect for us. The rooms were simple, but had what we needed. Would definitely stay here again. The bar had a good vibe and my drink was delicious. Worth checking out.

If you want a cozy, comfy hotel located in the heart of old town Munich, Hotel Lux is the place to stay. Almost anything you want to see is located within walking distance. If it’s not, the U-bahn and the S-bahn are easily accessible in the Marienplatz right around the corner. Sure, there’s some noise at night from the bar downstairs, but it’s not bad and we slept well. In the mornings, we had a gourmet breakfast in the bar and it was incredible. The hosts are super sweet and will help you with anything you need. The next time we are in Munich, we won’t consider staying anywhere other than Hotel Lux.

This place is great. Location couldn't be better. If you are a light sleeper, bring ear plugs. The street is loud, but it's still a wonderful place to stay. If you are super sound sensitive, find a different place.

Yelp
The location to everything was the best. Hauling suitcases up 2 flights of stairs and down was grueling. There is no lobby, you check in at the bar below. No one with mobility issues can stay there. Very noisy at night due to street partiers.

Yelp
We stayed here for 7 nights this past week and overall my opinion of the hotel was meh. Positives - it was a good location, close to most attractions. They had a nice selection of tea, and bottled water was refilled every day which was nice. The breakfast every day was pretty good. The restaurant bar is pretty cool to hang out at. Negatives- Beds were so hard and uncomfortable Tiny room LOUD- even being on the top floor it was soo loud outside! (They do give you ear plugs) I would recommend they put a hotel key fob from the bar to the hotel because we had a drunk girl sneak in the hotel and try to get into our room while we were sleeping. To the point my husband had to open the door and she tried to run under his arms into our room ‍‍

Yelp
Hotel Lux was a great, modern retreat. Offering free wifi, soft comfy beds & directly in the middle of the Historic City Center, this is a fantastic base for your touristy travels No elevators so beware if traveling w/ heavy bags or people who have limited mobility. My parents cannot handle too many stairs so we called ahead of time & they were nice enough to make sure we were placed on the first floor (that's the 2nd floor to us Americans) Even though we were right above the bar, we couldn't hear a peep from below however the noise from the hallway was very loud - voices & door slams echoed throughout Parking is not free but there is a nearby garage that is happy to drain your wallet. Also, you'll want to beware of traffic! The hotel is on a 1-way street but cars are going all over the place & my Dad was almost hit by some guy trying to park Happy to discover there was no buffet-style breakfast but real off the menu made-to-order! We enjoyed eggs cooked a variety of ways & bircher muesli (there were other kinds of muesli as well) & let's not forget the espresso drinks. Lattes were pretty creamy but had to order an extra shot of espresso to get a better coffee to milk ratio but even so, still delish Would recommend Hotel Lux to anyone looking to make a centralized base in Munich

Yelp
We stayed here for the first weekend of Oktoberfest. It was in a really nice area, assuming to be the heart of München. About a 5 minute walk to the train station. It was about €140 for a night, which is reasonable considering the festival. Staff was always great and let us keep our luggage there before check in. There's a crap ton of stairs so probably not best for disabled, since I don't think there's elevators. The reason for the 3 stars is because of the restaurant and the shower. The food was really crappy, even being half sober. No one in my group liked their food. Especially for the price. The shower was annoying. I know Germany tends to have small stand up showers but if I was even 3 inches bigger, I wouldn't have fit lol Really great location and nice hotel overall.

Yelp
Great cocktails after a long day of having beer. So refreshing to have a refreshing cocktail after all the beers. Makes Munich even better! Very near the haufbraus?! Either way, get the Smokey margarita - reminds me of Cabo!

Yelp
Review is for the bar only. What a sexy, quiet bar! Loved the dim lighting and decor. Drinks were great. It opens to the outside so we were able to sit inside but have the fresh air from the outside.

Yelp
This is one of my favorite little places in the city CENTER to go for a cocktail. They have the real Moscow Mule in the copper cup with cucumber garnish. The food is also good. Best for drinks upfront.

Yelp
München is known for its beer, but did you also know there is a thriving cocktail culture? My savvy girlfriend found the amazing Lux Bar (attached to the hotel of the same name) and we just had to stop in for a few drinks. The bar is intimate with cool, modern decor--a great place for a sexy date! They have some very skilled bartenders and creative cocktails. I definitely recommend trying some of their own inventions (unfortunately I don't have any specific recommendations because I can't find their menu online). Lux is conveniently located near Marienplatz, so it's easy to get to--and if you're downtown seeing the sights (or just getting off work) it's a great place to unwind after a long day.

Yelp
Horrible service ! Lazy ass bartenders and Even worse waiters.... Too much work for little action.... However, brought The dice to 3 after getting my drinks

Yelp
Great cocktail spot. Good service, extensive cocktail menu, great drinks. Local spot, but tourists are not unwelcome or uncomfortable. Interesting cocktails of all sorts. Lovely and lively.

Yelp
Last night me and my GF went for a drink. We saw everyone seated and saw one free table for two. As it was busy and there was no one to greet us, we sat in that table. After we took off our jackets and got comfy, one of the bartenders came to our table with a smile in his face (I thought he would bring the menu or wanted to greet us), but instead he put over the table the sign "Reserved". He did not say anything else. We were in shock. We waited until he came again and asked what the hell was that, and the answer was "if you don't wait to be seated, no table" and then left. That was all. PLEASE AVOID THIS PLACE if you wish you night not to be spoiled by unfriendly and inneficient staff. Btw, it was our 5th year anniversary

Yelp
Very nice, modern hotel with a cool restaurant and bar: Food is delicious, upscale but not too expensive, cocktails are great as well. It is always full but usually you get a table without reservation if you have a couple of minutes waiting time. Love the cheese platter :)

Yelp
This is a GREAT place to grab a drink. It has such a great ambiance and a gorgeous interior. Perfect for a date night and even though it is a hotel in the city center, the drinks are the usual Munich price. These are top notch cocktails, too! They also have a really nice menu if you are hungry, but I typically come here for just for drinks. Another perk is they are open pretty much all the time since it is a hotel bar. The service is always great, too!

Yelp
Nice jazzy atmosphere, but incredibly slow service on what seemed like not the most busy night. Certainly better options to be found in the vicinity.

Yelp
Never again. I went there with my girlfriends we first waited 20 min for the waiter and he left rudely immediately without taking the order. He came back 10 min later talking very rudely again. We left.

Yelp
Ditto the other reviews, great jazzy laid back vibe. A great place for a wine and some conversation. Did not eat the food, just drank and soaked up the atmosphere
