The hotel is very well located for seeing the sights. Close to the canals, St Marks Square, Doges Palace, and the Rialto Bridge. However, the hotel itself is very dated.|We were in room 401, and the stairs were a killer!|Buffet breakfast was basic with mini croissants, yoghurt, cereal, tea/coffee, and watery orange juice. The dining room was very small, with a 30-minute interval time slot that you booked the night before. As a party of 6, we almost filled the room.|Our room was of adequate size, but the electrics left a bit to be desired with holes in sockets showing wiring, some sockets not working, and switches that served no purpose! The twin beds were comfortable and clean with crisp white sheets, but the blankets and curtains had seen better days. We didn't use our safe, but other family members reported that theirs didn't work. Towels were changed daily. The shower was useable but spat the water out owing to the old shower head, but it did the job. Overall it served its purpose, but we wouldn't rush back for another stay.

The hotel was nice and clean; in the room, there was a mini fridge and an AC, which was handy. The bathroom was spacious and there was toiletries. The only negative thing about the room was the bed; the mattres was too flat and the bed base made a lot of noise every time you turned around/lay on the bed.Breakfast is served at the hotel; it's simple but abundant. The hotel clerks were always super polite and helpful. The hotel is located near Marco Polo Sq and you can walk to most places. Super recommended.

Great location. Close to the "bus" (really a boat) station and to the saint marco plaza containing a great amount of things to do. The rooms look great and are very comfortable, perfect for couples. Breakfast is nice, croissants, jams and good drinks, nothing amazing but what they make, they make good. The staff is very welcoming and nice. we got great treatment. overall I advise anyone who wants to come to Venice to come and sleep here.

I had an extremely disappointing stay at Hotel Lux in Venice. The rooms were tiny, dark, and nothing like the pictures advertised. The furniture was old and poorly maintained, and the bathroom was in terrible condition, with leaking fixtures and a bad smell. Cleanliness was clearly not a priority — the room felt dusty and unpleasant from the moment I entered. The staff were unfriendly and unhelpful, making the experience even worse. When I asked for assistance, they seemed annoyed rather than willing to help. For the price charged, the quality and service were completely unacceptable. The location might be decent, but everything else about this hotel was a letdown. I would absolutely not recommend Hotel Lux to anyone visiting Venice. Save your money and choose a better place.

The best thing about this hotel was when we checked out. Staff remained watching a video on his phone when we arrived. Rooms were dark dirty and very tired. Beds were rock hard and it was like sleeping in a shed. Breakfast was regimented and staff were rude. Crammed into a tiny room with 6 tables and food was measly. There are many more hotels that are a lot better, to choose from. Venice is nice though and the location of the hotel great.

I booked this hotel expecting a proper room within the hotel premises, especially considering the price I paid — over 100 euros. Instead, I was directed to a room located in a completely separate residential building nearby. There was no prior communication whatsoever that the room would be outside the hotel, which is unacceptable. The check-in process was frustrating and disorganized. The staff merely showed me a photo of the building and gave vague directions like “go left” and “go right,” without a proper address or map. I had to repeatedly ask for help before someone finally walked me there — only to drop me off and say, “It’s the same place.” It clearly wasn’t. No guidance was provided regarding breakfast either — no mention of the time, location, or how to access it from this separate building. There was no proper service or support for guests placed outside the main facility. If the hotel was fully booked, I should have been informed upfront — not misled after arriving. For the price charged, this level of service and communication is simply unacceptable. I do not recommend this hotel to tourists. The lack of transparency, poor service, and misleading setup make it neither comfortable nor trustworthy.

Location is great and thats probably the only thing about this place. Since we were visiting in rainy season, we needed to shower daily but there wasnt enough hot water for 2 people at a time. So keep your showers short. The hotel did not place us in the main location but in some apartments situated in the alleyway. The interior entrance light didn't work when we would enter the main staircase (usually after dark) so we would have to use our phone lights to get to the 2nd floor. The room are damp and both my fiance and I used to wake up with itching arms and legs so the covers were definitely never washed or worse. What was worse was that on the day of checkout, while we were in bed was that the door was unlocked at 9.30am. I kept yelling that hey, we are inside but the person on the outside still opened it. He apologized and left but that left a nasty taste in our mouth. We didn’t have breakfast there. Overall Venice is great but there might be a better place for the value you pay!

This hotel is located a minute walk to the water taxi, St. Mark’s Square and Doge’s Palace. No elevator on this property be prepared to carry your luggage up a few flights of stairs. I would not recommend.
