A little gem of a hotel! Although the rooms could use a bit of updating, the beds and linens were very comfortable and the air conditioning was incredibly good! We had 27-29 degrees weather and coming back to a cool room was so nice. The hotel staff was wonderful, helpful, and friendly. Our whole family felt safe and welcomed here. The front desk is manned 24 hours, and the front bar and coffee station is very charming and has nice croissants in the morning; with some candies and snacks available all the time. The location is right in the thick of the action, so many great restaurants, a laundry mat down the street, and a five minute walk to central station. Our rooms were facing the back so we did not have any problems with street noise at all. I highly recommend this hotel which was reasonably priced, and as long as you don’t expect super fancy updated room decor, everything worked and was comfortable. We were also gifted some snack bags when we left which our sons really appreciated! I would book again!

Stayed in this hotel for 2 nights in a family room with 4 single beds. The location is perfect as it's very close to the train station which runs straight to the airport. It is also very central & close to all the attractions, just a walk away. The guy at reception was so helpful & friendly. There are loads of lovely restaurants for breakfast & dinner on the same street. I would highly recommend this hotel & couldn't fault it in any way.

Pretty small but gets the job done when you are visiting and won't be in the room much. Staff was very kind and attentive. They even gave little goodie bags when we checked out. Rooms are a tad bit outdated but still clean. Only little downside was we found chewed up gum in the corner of our shower and front desk was sorry that happened to us when we informed them

We had a wonderful stay at the Luxer hotel. The room size is spacious so too the bathroom. The best part is the staff. They are friendliest that I have ever seen. We requested for the luggage storage as we arrived earlier which they happily accepted. There is complementary coffee with cookies which is worth to try for. The location is also the great part as it’s 3-5 minutes of walk to the train station.

We had a fantastic long weekend at this hotel.the rooms were very nice and clean. There was a small bar at the lobby, and behind that we had croissants and coffee in the morning. The hotel is situated very central in Amsterdam. The absolute best part with the stay was the nice and friendly staff. The made the weekend perfect. Best regards from us five from Norway.

TL;DR: Good for what it is, but don't expect a ton. Excellent location and security. Best for a younger crowd. Decent deal for the price, but you may be able to find something comparable for less (best if you can split the cost among a couple travelers). It's very good for the area, but there are some negatives (most to be expected for such centrally located hotels - this isn't luxury accommodations). For example, the lighting isn't great, but serves its purpose. The doors don't close unless you slam them (guessing to prevent people from leaving their keys in the room), so be prepared to be woken up by the noise and loud alarms. The pillows work as intended, but are rather small (I recommend bringing one). The beds are comfortable, with better sheets than I anticipated. Lastly, depending on your room setup, the bathroom can be a little awkward to use. Traveling solo, it was a bit more expensive than I would have liked, but that goes for everything. If it could be split among more travelers, it would be completely worth it! All said and done, it was about $200/night, which is decent. I would definitely return again, but wouldn't rule out looking at other options to bring down the cost.

Wonderful Stay – Highly Recommended! We had a fantastic stay as a family. The location is absolutely excellent – just a short walk from Amsterdam Central, right on a bustling street full of life and energy. It made exploring the city so easy and convenient. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed and made to feel right at home. The rooms are clean and simple, but the beds were super comfortable, so we all enjoyed a great night's sleep. The hotel was excellent value for money, and we received a few lovely extras we didn’t expect for the price. We especially loved the great coffee that was always readily available, and the kids were thrilled with the little treats, such a thoughtful touch! A heartfelt thank you to Skye for your amazing hospitality, warmth, and all the helpful tips and local info. You really made our family stay feel extra special! From a very happy family

Yelp
My husband and I absolutely love this hotel. Perfectly located within walking distance of the train station and all major sight seeing. It is so quaint and the staff is friendly. The beds are super comfy (we had a double) and it is so very quiet that we got some great sleep. They had the simple amenities like tea and coffee in the room which made our mornings easy to get started. Everything was perfect and not a lot of excess. It was a great stay! Coming back again in May!

Yelp
I see a lot of complaints here from a lot of spoiled Karens. You book a hotel bordering the red light district and then whine about the litter and the noise? My experience with this hotel was a good one. After my flight out of Schipol got canceled, I needed a room for the night. I had a large amount of luggage so needed something a short distance from Centraal Station. This was just the ticket. Great location on a busy street with plenty of decent food options, a couple of really cool bars, an international bank with an ATM and even a laundromat across the street where you can wash and dry a load of clothes for under 9€. The hotel was clean and very nice. They let me check in at noon after a 10 minute wait, which was very much appreciated. Pretty upscale for an Amsterdam tourist hotel. I didn't opt for breakfast as I had an 9AM flight the next day and checked out early. There is a 24/hour self serve station for water and snacks. I also enjoyed the 24 hour bar for a nightcap on my way to bed. Secure hotel - the desk is manned 24 hours and they have to buzz you in. Room was clean and spacious...a bit of a squeeze getting around the sink into the shower. USB and power ports next to the bed. AC blew cold. Bed was fine. Yes, it's on a busy tourist street, and in the morning they allow vehicles so they can make deliveries to the businesses, so get a room in the back. My room was super quiet. Friendly, helpful staff. Honestly, this is a great place and I love the location. Would be 5 stars, but it IS pricey. $150 per night is pretty high.

Yelp
Stayed here last week and it was the best hotel we have stayed in Amsterdam. Room was decently quiet compared to the ones along Damrak. Theres complimentary breakfast and coffee throughout the day which we did not expect. Very friendly staff and would extend an extra mile of service they can. Theres also a 24/7 bar at the lobby for guests. Very walkable if you are coming from the Centraal station. Would rate it a 6/5 if it is possible

Yelp
Me and my wife stayed for 3 nights, we really enjoyed our stay. -very safe. Someone is at the front desk 24/7 and you have to be let in. It's very easy for you to get in and out. staff was very friendly -location is fantastic, 5 min walk from the central train station you can get anywhere. Near many restaurants, bars and main attractions. -our room was clean and surprisingly quite, very little noise. -best were comfortable, me and my wife are pretty tall too. -a few things that may bother some (I didn't really care, we were gone for most of the day) no remote for the TV, our lamp was missing a lamp shade. Shower was small but honestly for the location, it's kinda expected. Overall this place has everything you need, great location, safety and a great place to sleep! I would stay here again for sure

Yelp
Reserved a 215 ft2 room, got a 100ft2 room. They had us prepay before we saw the room and wouldn't fix the problem after. Also sink drained poorly and bedside light didn't work. Window had flimsy covering that didn't provide any privacy and didn't reduce outside lighting at all. Refused to answer emails. Opened dispute through Booking.com, hotel refused to provide any compensation for giving us a smaller room for the larger room price.

Yelp
We stayed in this hotel during our stay in Amsterdam. It was pretty close to the red light district but it didn't bother us. The hotel is also on a pretty busy street so you do hear people yelling early into the morning. We stayed in a 3 person room on the fourth floor so it wasn't that bad. The room was pretty spacious enough to have our 3 check-in suitcases on the floor. There's a small desk and a dresser in the room. A lock box was available for free use in the dresser. The bathroom was spacious as well. And the room was furnished with three twin beds. We didn't sign up for the all you can eat breakfast but the spread looked decent. Unfortunately no fridge in the room :( The lobby area was pretty interesting. They have purple decor everywhere. Sometimes the front door was locked so you had to be buzzed in by the receptionist. Maybe it helps to keep people out at night? Overall the hotel was pretty nice and fit our needs. And it was in a very convenient location!

Yelp
So happy with our stay! Perfect location, walking distance to all the major attractions, the staff is amazing here at this hotel and makes sure you feel welcomed! Nabil went above and beyond our expectations with his hospitality and made us feel like we're at home. The hotel is super clean and so inviting! Thank you so much Luxer Hotel, we will definitely be back and stay here when we're in Amsterdam.

Yelp
A clean, simple hotel. It is a bit on the smaller side (to be expected, for its location within the Red Light District), so if you're planning on staying here, it's best to make reservations ahead of time, as I've seen the concierge turn away people because the hotel was at capacity. There is free Wi-Fi, and a 9 Euro hot and continental breakfast bar in the mornings. You could probably find less expensive breakfasts in the area, but Hotel Luxer's breakfast had a decent selection, and was super convenient. There was nothing too special about the hotel, but its location was very convenient (especially for tourists), and it felt very safe (the front door had to be buzzed open by the concierge).

Yelp
I chose this hotel off review on, and for one of the first times, TripAdvisor has failed me. We arrived in Amsterdam early on a Sunday morning. The hotel is conveniently located within a 5 minute walk from the train station but on one of the grossest streets in Amsterdam. It borders the Red Light District and the street was disgustingly filthy, lined with garbage and urine from the night before. Many people say this hotel is ideally located. It it not; Central Amsterdam is fairly compact, and there are many other hotels in better locations, equally as walkable to the key sites. Our double room was located on the ground floor, the first room behind the dining area. I believe it was room 10. It was cramped and dark, with hardly any room to open our suitcases. The bathroom was equally as cramped with a shower that leaked all over the floor. There were screaming kids staying in the hotel, and it sounded like they were in our rooms as the insulation was so poor. The reception/bar area is cute. Those pictures actually sold me on the hotel. At no point, however, did I actually see anyone sitting in the bar, perhaps because the woman at the front desk/bar was rather unapproachable. Definitely not recommended.

Yelp
This place is nice and clean. The only reason I give it a 3 star is because I think the breakfast should be included. It was 90 euro per night. We got the attic room on the 4th floor, but it was nice and quiet. It's a fee streets over from the main part of the red light district but I felt pretty safe.
google avatar

Yelp
Central but so expensive. 250€/night is ridiculous and doesn't have parking option or breakfast included. The room size and bathroom are smaller than Europe standard. When checking in, the person at the front desk was more interested at the people dressed up for Gay Pride parade. Oh, also should have checked the calendar of events before visiting Amsterdam, our parking will cost 60€ since all park+ride were full. Well....hoping for a nicer time visiting Anne Frank Museum.

Yelp
We booked our stay at Hotel Luxer well in advance of the current pandemic crisis. Now, all travel has been affected. The airline provided us a refund, our planned excursions provided us a refund, our employers have provided support and understanding, even Hotels.com has done everything possible and extended their support. Yet, Hotel Luxer refuses to do the right thing and provide us a refund for rooms we paid for but we can't reach due to this crisis. We've explained and even pleaded to them that the refunded monies would go directly to food, supplies, medical care/prevention for us and our families and they simply don't care. To anyone planning on visiting these cold-hearted owners and staff, please find another location. This greedy hotel doesn't deserve your patronage. We will remember your greed when this situation improves and hope you are forced to get out of the hotel business. We also hope you or your families don't need similar assistance because karma never forgets.

Yelp
I needed a hotel close to Central Station at a decent price. This is it. Room is clean, guy at the desk was helpful and gave me a quieter room at my request. Yes, it's in the (party) center of town and yes, the rooms are not competely sound proof. Hardly any hotel, anywhere in the world, is. At this price, at this locations you may expect loud tourists. The alternative is a business hotel at 4 times the price.. So, I think it's a good deal.

Yelp
Perfectly fine if kind of creepy hotel. Furtive seedy looking types often seem to stay here, but really it's safe and clean and super friendly. The staff could not be nicer and more helpful. Rooms are what you'd expect for the price: small and functional. Breakfast downstairs is nice with a large array of the usual Dutch breakfast suspects. Great location if sketchy. Book early, fills up fast.
