"In a city that takes itself so seriously—running the United States is an intense business, after all—the Hotel Madera is a breath of fresh air. Just a couple of leafy blocks from always-lively Dupont Circle, the Kimpton-run boutique hotel looks like a 1960s apartment building on the outside, belying interiors adorned in colorful, batik-inspired fabrics and perks like in-room yoga mats and an evening wine hour. In other words, the Madera is the kind of place where you relax. The laid-back and trendy restaurant takes its design cues from a fairy-tale forest, and pets are as catered to as children and bachelorette groups. It’s hard to beat the Dupont Circle location, too, which puts the White House, the Kennedy Center, and trendy neighborhoods like Logan Circle and U Street all within throwing distance. No, it’s not the fanciest stay in town, but D.C. doesn’t need another fussy hotel to attract visiting dignitaries—and you’ll have more fun at the Madera, anyway."

BEWARE OF THE SCAMMERS!!!!! I hate to leave a bad review for the hotel but you are a reflection of whom you hire Had a wonderful experience with my wife during our stay. The hotel had a perfect aesthetic to it followed up with fantastic restaurant and bar attached to the hotel. The staff were friendly and courteous. Our room was very clean and spacious. We love every moment and it was truly a good pre birthday present. So you could only imagine the surprise I felt when I received a notification from my bank that there was a fraudulent transaction detected. There were multiple fraudulent charges to my credit card from the "valet parking" provided by the hotel that I paid for which was the outrageous price of $55 a night but I obliged. The only time I used this credit card was at the hotel for parking for exactly one night. This was not my primary card so I know for a fact it's an associate of the hotel. This person charged over $900 paying phone, utility and Amazon accounts. Whomever is charging hard working people's credit cards to pay off their bills is a low life individual that will never get anywhere in life. I pray that justice is served and no one else has to encounter what I had to during my vacation.

The curtain does not block out any light and it wakes you up. It couldn’t even block out the lights on the buildings at night. The room is nice, clean and modern, but there’s no mini fridge for your leftover Astoria or microwave to heat it up. The location is great. The service at the restaurant downstairs is very good. Good free drinks at 5 pm sometimes.

I stayed two nights on a business trip, and overall it was great. The front desk staff is warm and welcoming, and helped me with a few things throughout the stay. The lobby's nothing special - just a desk and a few steps to the elevator, and there's an underlying smell from the gas heat. The rooms themselves are great. Spacious room and bathroom, comfortable bed, and I was given a room facing the back of the hotel so it was very quiet (I'll always choose quiet over view). There's a Welcome Hour every evening from 5-6 where you can get a glass of wine/beer or cocktail for free, which is a nice touch, and there are water refill (still or sparkling!) and ice stations on every floor. Overall, it was a great stay.

This is hands down the best hotel I've ever had the pleasure of staying. The accomodations were exceptional. The service and staff were incredible. The red headed young lady at the front desk was always amazing (and always there working. Y'all should give her a day off. 😉)|The restaurant was the best of all the restaurants we had visited In DC. The morning staffer was very exciting and fun. The evening staff with Andy, Jenny, and Mercedes were incredible. ( The Smoky Dragon was awesome!)|Definitely would recommend and will definitely be back to this fine establishment. ||See you soon. ||The Henry Family.

Google
+ Rooms are very spacious and have a nice design + Quiet + Location is solid - They charge a bs $30 per night "resort fee" for basically nothing (there's a water tap! there's a Google Chromecast!), just one of the latest tricks to advertise at a lower price that I'll never tolerate - Service is pretty uninspired. Not much in the way of amenities, minimal staffing and low effort welcoming new customers.

Have stayed multiple times here. Reno was an improvement but some in room amenities removed (stocked fridge, candy, etc). Check in was disappointing; night auditor rushed check in, did not offer water etc. No bedding in room for pull-out, had to ask twice and it still never arrived. Housekeeping was great, but after requesting one hour late checkout, there was a rush to get into room and the staff hovered until checkout (awkward... front desk should have notified housekeeping staff of departure time). She also refused to find a luggage cart (there are a few steps to get to elevator past reception). Never experienced these issues with prior visits. Online price was less than booking rate; no offer to price match. With that said, the afternoon front desk and valet staff were 1000% professional day of checkout. Very helpful and professional. Much appreciated and freshing to see. Entire staff should perform in the same manner.

Google
Not as pleasant as I hoped - location good, but would I return? No. Rooms could be a bit cleaner, amenities, especially for the fee charged, a bit better too, and the staff friendlier. If you're looking for a come and go place, this may be it. Both the hotel and some staff lack personality. Underwhelming. I'm sure there are worse hotels, but I know there are better ones, too.

Our family spent a recent weekend in DC and we stayed at this hotel. Great location and street parking is very easy. The hotel is a converted apt complex and has minimal staff on hand. The issue we had with our room is that the guest in the room below us was visibly smoking on the balcony despite it being a non smoking property. The pot smoke infiltrated our room despite us having curtains and doors tightly shut. It was addressed multiple times with the person at the front desk, which more or less fell on deaf ears because nothing was done to remedy the situation. It’s clear there is no hands on management or oversight in the hotel.

Yelp
I chose Hotel Madera primarily for its location--it's right off Dupont Circle, making it super convenient for both my family's home and my daughter's school. I wanted to be close in case I needed to get back to her quickly. The online reviews were consistently great across multiple platforms, and I was drawn to the idea of having a balcony. I booked my stay feeling confident, but even that didn't prepare me for just how impressive the room would be. When searching for a hotel, I originally wanted one that had either a spa or room service--ideally both. Hotel Madera had neither, and I almost let that deter me from booking. I'm so glad I didn't! The experience more than made up for it, and I didn't miss those amenities at all. I didn't get a standard room, but it wasn't a suite either--it was just a step up, and yet, it felt like a suite in most hotels. The space was huge. There was a full couch seating area, a king-size bed with plenty of space around it, and a floor-to-ceiling window wall leading to a balcony that stretched the entire length of the room, complete with a sitting area outside. The bathroom layout was great too--the shower was separate from the toilet and sink area. Everything about the room was simply beautiful, and I was shocked that I paid just over $200 a night (including fees) for that level of space and comfort in this area. The hotel has some nice perks, like complimentary drinks at Firefly for guests from 5-6 PM, though I never had the chance to take advantage of it--I was really just there to sleep. And let me tell you, the sleep was amazing. The whole stay was comfortable and convenient. I went to dinner at Union Market and at Dogon during my trip, both of which were convenient. One standout experience was with their customer service. I brought my own iron, knowing that hotel irons can sometimes be hit or miss, but when I arrived, I realized the one they provided was nearly identical to mine. I ended up using theirs and accidentally leaving mine behind in the room. A few days later, I emailed the hotel with a picture of my iron, mentioning that if they didn't find it, I completely understood since it looked so similar to theirs. To my surprise, they found it and even offered to ship it back to me! Since I'm local, I was able to pick it up, but the fact that they went the extra mile to look for it really stood out to me. I'd absolutely recommend Hotel Madera for a vacation, a quick getaway, or even a mommy-and-me stay if you want a high-end experience without an outrageous price tag. I imagine the rooms only get better as you go up in tier. For reference, the hotel is right by Balos--I could see the restaurant from my balcony, less than a block away. If you're considering staying in Dupont Circle, this is definitely a spot worth checking out!

Yelp
Shockingly spacious. Very clean. The bathroom was absolutely humongous! The shower had lots and lots of hot water and Great water pressure if you swap over to the hand held shower head. Very clean and modern bathroom. Beds were great! Good sleep. a few times we could hear neighbors. But only briefly and maybe they were in the hall. Quiet otherwise. No ice machine but they have a freezer in which bags of ice are stored and you can get ice from there anytime you want. They have a water dispenser in the hall that even has sparkling water. Though of course there is a mandatory $29 charge for these things. . I used the water dispenser and certainly did NOT get my money's worth. There is a little work out room. Which we also did not use. The valet parking is ridiculously costly each day. But you can't really park easily anywhere in the city so it made sense to park at the hotel and catch the metro or uber to get places. The safe did not work but they sent up a maintenance person literally within 5 min on a weekend and he fixed it. Another guest was complaining about their safe not working. So that sounds liking it wasn't just our safe. They did reassure us that if the safe shut down with our stuff in it they would be able to get it out. Toilet was slow at one point but they fixed it while we were out. The neighborhood is great. Short walking distance to DuPont circle and tons of restaurants and the metro. We felt safe. Drug store and seems like little groceries within walking distance. The staff are great. Every interaction was 5/5. We called last year and everyone was super nice on the phone. Same this year. Super nice and helpful folks. The price was ridiculous. It was very reasonable last year maybe around spring break when we booked and in FACT looked like a good deal compared to other hotels in the area but l ended up canceling. So they were very good about giving us our money back. That's a huge plus. This year we booked during Easter break. The price was crazy. An arm and a leg and your first born son. Reasonable value for DC when it's not Easter. Ridiculously expensive during Easter. Super nice staff. Very helpful. Any small issue-they fixed very quickly. Modern interior. Super clean. Well kept. Shockingly spacious. 5/5 Highly recommend (when price is reasonable)

Yelp
Excellent location, well-trained staff, clean rooms. I will say the table next to my couch needed some TLC and the television did not work. Other than that, it was definitely a good stay. The room was quiet, until housekeeping got to work the next day, the views are amazing, and it's safe. The water pressure is awesome, the beds are perfect for middle age hips and back and the proportion of firm to soft pillows on the king beds are perfect. The temperature is amazing in the rooms (I didn't have to change it though you can). The minibar was empty. Sad. But not unexpected. I enjoyed my stay and would try again if I was in the area.

Yelp
We wanted to spend our money in a different way this time and stay in a residential neighborhood- as opposed to other times we've visited cities and be surrounded by steel. This was one the best things we did while hubs and I stayed in DC for the long Easter weekend coupled with the early part of my Spring Break. The newest addition to the DC scene is Hotel Madera, and they're proving to be popular with their reasonable pricing, good location, service, plus more. And while this isn't one of those $600, $700, or more hotels, Madera is a thing of unusual beauty. Not far from Dupont Cir., this hotel fits right in with the quaintness of the area's tree-lined streets. I did a double-take when I noticed doggie bowls in the vestibule- but overlooked it. Once we walked into Madera's lobby area, it gave off a subtle pet smell mixed with their signature clean scent when we checked in on a late Good Friday. It wasn't an off-putting smell- it was more faint than anything. I know. The following morning was a different story and woke up to a chihuahua. No offense to anyone- but the barking was relentless. Reception desk remedied that and discounted considerable fees twice- if I remember correctly- because we really missed that fine 'pet friendly' print when hubs booked online. Plus that person's dog was quiet the next 2 mornings. Hotel Madera's on-site Firefly restaurant is off to the left when you first walk in here. Front desk seemed disheveled a bit with boxed items and a few other things- but a cabinet could help conceal those items laying around that don't belong out in the open. Our card key opened our exceptionally clean and spacious room- and no offensive scent. Bed has crisp white bedding which I love and the bed itself was comfortably firm. Some of the walls are accented in a lilac paint color, bathroom is fully equipped with a great walk-in shower, shower toiletries smelled clean, kitchenette (minus the sink) has a modern-looking water pot, tea and coffee bags are already provided for along with a mini fridge and utensils. Water pressure was nice- could've been stronger and sink drain could be faster. But these two, didn't put a damper in our stay. Location was great. Everyone was extremely welcoming. Valet guys were extremely helpful. For $1700 we didn't complain considering the space provided and that it was the Easter weekend after all.

Yelp
The room was amazing and so was the staff, however valet freaking sucked to the 10th power! We waited almost an hour for our car, thus missing reservations. Not only did we wait long times for our car the damn man did not know how to to drive Manuel !!!!! Sat there and wasted my time for me to keep calling just to get my keys ! I don't know what the system is with valet but they could definitely need readjusting. Unacceptable to wait that long for PAID PARKING in the city. They need to be more considerate of others time and business. Over all the stay was amazing. Also to add, the woman at the front desk was not helpful, did not provide me with the manager number and acted very unconcerned about my issue ! I totally never witnessed customer services like this. Especially for these prices! Very INCONSIDERATE!

Yelp
The good was the friendliness and accommodating staff. They were fabulous! I had the junior suite with a balcony. I love a balcony, especially when it faces the sun rising, so nothing to say about that. The bad was the noisy heater, and the slippery shower. We had to turn the TV up loud to cover the noise of the heater, or turn it off. The shower had a hold-bar, but it was right under the shower-head! WTH? So shower at your own risk. LOL Other than that it's a nice hotel to stay at.

Yelp
I found this hotel during an internet search out of having a habit for trying a different hotel whenever I'm in a frequently visited city. I was slightly skeptical because I didn't like the picture I saw online of the outside as it resembled an apartment building but the pics of the inside looked promising. I got in at about 6am and prior to that I had called to hotel to request early checkout. Luckily they were able to accommodate me for a small fee of $40. As soon as I got in the doorman helped me with my luggage and after check in helped me get my luggage to the elevator. Once I got into my room, I was amazed at how spacious the room was. The room was clean and had a homey feel to it. They also had really nice robes, one of the best I've seen actually and new ones were also available to purchase for about $100. My only gripe was that the towels and bedding were grayish when they should have been white and that made me question how clean the linens actually were. So that was definitely a huge pet peeve for me. Other than that, the hotel and staff are nice and I wouldn't mind staying here again. But I still think they need to buy new linens.

Yelp
I've stayed at this hotel a few times and can say it's one of my favorites in DC. It's always clean and the staff is so welcoming and friendly. The restaurant downstairs has great options and they offer you a welcome drink during your stay. They even have a small (but effective) gym with a peloton bike! The location is prime, with lots of great food options in walking distance.

Yelp
Hotel has become a popular spot for pot smokers. The king balcony rooms share ventilation between bathrooms---meaning whatever your neighbor breathes out ends up in your room. What to air it out? Sorry, they're smoking on the patio, too. What has been a great hotel to stay at in the past is actually terrible now. So much CO2 build up in my room (from the other room's occupants) that I felt groggy and the room was stuffy. Hotel management waived my amenity fee---but did nothing about the 24/7 chain smoking addict next door. It' was a constant barrage of one weed variety after another, only separated by candy-scented vape pens. Used to be a nice hotel. A good hotel for Covid conscious and health conscious travelers. Not anymore. They'd rather fee $300 to the pot smokers than run a hotel that is comfortable for guests.

Meh. Not all it promised... bed was comfortable but not really anything special. Wouldn't go back

Yelp
Decided to hang in DC for my birthday and make it a little staycation. I found this spot because we wanted to stay waking distance to the new Swingers golfing place. This place was super cute and convenient to Dupont Circle. The only thing I wished they had was a garage. You are either forced to park on the street or valet for roughly 50 bucks. I also enjoyed that they have a free happy hour in their downstairs lounge. Definitely got my birthday festivities started off right. Everyone who worked here was super friendly! The room was super spacious with a nice view. The bathroom is what blew me away. It was large and clean. Every review of a hotel I stay at, mentions the bathroom cleanliness. This bathroom was clean. Thank the Lawd. I wouldn't mind staying here again. There is a parking garage about a 5 min walk away if you decide to go that route.

Yelp
Booked a weekend here for a staycation and it was amazing! This is a beautiful location with a bar & restaurant conveniently located within the building. I enjoyed the complimentary happy hour drink! The decor was beautiful and my suite was nice & spacious! I had a beautiful view of the city and the staff was welcoming & professional! The only downside is parking , I did street parking but valet is available Treat yourself to a stay!

Yelp
If I could give them 10 stars, I would!! My sister and I were going to DC to see the sights and have fun. I looked for six weeks trying to find a hotel for us, looking both in DC and the surrounding areas. Finally, I came upon the Madera and saw that it had not one single bad review. THIS was to be our hotel! I advised them that we had pets - no problem, they even had a 'goodie bag' for the dogs when we got there! I asked them if there was anything special they could do for my sister as, the day we arrived was her birthday. No problem - a Happy Birthday party hat, two wine glasses and a bottle of wine were in the room for us when we arrived. We asked for an ADA room as I have very bad knees and step in tub/showers are very difficult for me. No problem, the shower was designed to accommodate a wheelchair for rolling in, complete with grip bars on every side and grip bars by the toilet. We had a balcony where we could look out on New Hampshire NW which is the front of the hotel. We had access to valet parking at all times (24/7!!) and the front desk staff (with the exception of the woman working on Saturday morning, 9/3/2022) were all amazing!! We called them on Wednesday, to let them know we were going to be much later than anticipated due to traffic delays and construction - no problem said the ladies at the desk (both Ice and Maggie {Maggie was also the awesome soul that arranged the birthday amenities for my sister}) When we got there, Robert, the valet, spoiled us to no end making sure we got everything out of the car and to our room in good condition and in good humor! Ice was working the desk when we arrived and she could not have been more welcoming! I can't think of anything negative to say about the establishment or about the staff (the staff in The Firefly were wonderful and polite as well!). To the general manager of The Madera, I say congratulations on having gathered the kindest, friendliest and most accommodating people in the DC area to help you to welcome in guests. The rest of our trip was so horrendous and the people in DC that we encountered were so rude and obnoxious, that we actually ended our trip a day early to go home, but the folks at the Madera made our time there bearable and assured us that you can always find a rose amongst the thorns! Thank you to the staff for being so wonderful! We appreciate you all more than you can possibly imagine!!

Yelp
Amazing experience. My fiancé was coming into town for Thanksgiving week and we had a weekend lined up in DC for some couple time and to execute our engagement photos. I wanted to find a location that allowed dogs- this hotel delivered so much more beyond my expectations. Not only was this hotel a dog friendly hotel, but it had zero breed restrictions- I own the sweetest, most docile 2.5 year old female pit bull and they welcomed her with open arms. Not only was the staff incredible throughout our stay, consistent from one person to the next, but they gushed over Charlotte and made her so comfortable. My favorite was the already in suite dog bed and bowls alongside an adorable little gift bag with treats and poop bags for my furry babe. I literally cannot rave enough about this location and highly recommend. We will be back!

Hailey J.

Yelp
Great location, really pleasant and clean rooms, but the thing that makes this such a good place to stay are the staff. Eskedar and the rest of the staff at Hotel Madera are very accommodating and friendly.

Yelp
I made a reservation for a room with a balcony, placing my card on hold to guarantee the room. When I arrived they told me the room was not available. Me and my partner had to scramble to find another hotel that same night on our anniversary. 3 days later I was charged $300. It has been over two weeks, I have talked to two separate associates who told me they were issuing the refund. I have still not received the refund. My bank has no evidence of a pending refund. To top it all off they ended up checking in someone else under MY name. The person stay in MY room and have been accused by the manager Velda that i stayed there, had breakfast, and swiped my card at the front desk. They assure me they will call me back when they never do and she has hung up on me multiple times. Will be reporting this as fraud. Worst service and very unorganized.

Yelp
We stayed in the King Deluxe Room with Balcony for 2 nights. Madera is a cute little boutique hotel located in a great location in Dupont Circle. It's about a 3-5 minute walk to the subway, Krispy Kreme, Swingers Mini Golf, GrillFish and a few other spots. Maggy from Guest Services was super helpful. The two young ladies at the front desk were pleasant, but I felt one of them was a bit "rushy". She rambled off check in and hotel key procedures. My pre-check in requests were met and and any additional requests were met immediately. Our room with the balcony was very spacious and super clean - there was Zero dust. Madera gets an 'A' from me regarding how clean our room and bathroom was. My hubby left tips for our housekeeper and she kept the place even more spotless...lol. The bed was ahmaaazing...spacious, comfortable and felt like we were sleeping on a cloud. The 4 pillows were too soft for our liking. We had to request additional pillows to support us and use the harder throw pillows on couch. The air conditioning was suitable. However, we had to turn it extra low for the room to get cooler. The one thing that irked the living crap out of me was the bathroom sink water pressure was EXTREMELY LOW. The water was one skittle from being a fast drip! The water pressure tubing under the sink was very small which was a telltale sign the hotel purposely wants it this way. The shower was modern with nice shower nozzles. The water pressure was fine. I am sure they would have some irate guests otherwise. When booking, I overlooked the fact there was no microwave in the room which was a bummer. I get that once a guest has the ability to microwave a breakfast burrito or TV dinner, he or she is not paying for a meal from their downstairs restaurant. Madera may not be able to afford to equip every room with microwaves, but I feel they should at least equip their most expensive rooms with a microwave. I was not impressed with the Firefly brunch downstairs. I plan to leave a separate review regarding my experience there. Madera/Firefly also does not offer room service which I found odd? Other little things I noticed: The hotel lobby which is the central hub is small and narrow. It can get crowded and tight. It's also directly in front of the Firefly restaurant which has ongoing traffic. After your hotel luggage is loaded on the hotel cart, staff has to put the cart in front of the stairs leading to the elevators, go get another cart from the top of the stairs, transfer your luggage from the bottom cart to another cart at the top of the stairs. Whose genius idea was it for this set up? Why don't they have a built in ramp? Poor staff. The elevators are small too. The hotel carts are not made for those elevators either and you have to maneuver it in at an angle. All in all, our stay was decent. I personally would not visit again, but if you don't mind a small 'no bells and whistles' hotel, want clean rooms, prefer a great Dupont location at a decent price check this place out.

Yelp
"Well, now we have a reason to come back and plan a weekend getaway." That is what I said the morning we had to check out of this hotel. I have never had such a pleasant experience at a hotel. There was an issue finding our reservation in the system, but the hotel was so apologetic and resolved that quickly. They seem to genuinely care about each guest that stays with them. This will be the only place I stay/recommend in DC.

Yelp
Wow awesome hotel .So clean and nice remodeled room. Yuri, Maggie, Bell man and lady during check in were so helpful. The best hotel we stayed during our trip. We enjoyed our stay and accommodation. Comfortable bed, sofa in the room, nice shower. Loved design of the room and hotel. Thanks all people who works there for this experience. Will definitely recommend this place for future. Stay safe

Yelp
Wow - absolutely the most warm and enthusiastic greeting I've ever had at any hotel from the ebullient Ice, who is a real asset at the Hotel Madera. The rooms are lovely and well-equipped with super comfortable beds and nice, spacious bathrooms. At 5:30 every night they offer complimentary cocktails next to the lobby. This hotel is centrally located and definitely worth a visit. Everyone we've encountered is friendly, helpful and super nice. Glad to spend my nights in Washington DC here at the Madera. My

Yelp
Just stayed for a nice long weekend. Rooms are much nicer than when we stayed five years ago. Staff was very friendly and helpful. They even remembered our names throughout the stay which was a pleasant surprise and gave off the boutique hotel vibes. Would definitely recommend and near DuPont circle is a really nice location.

Yelp
The best Boutique hotel in DC! First time guest, and will definitely return for the ambiance, views, and good ol fashion hospitality. Our room, 2 queens with a balcony was HUGE! The staff, including housekeeping, manager, valet's were all attentive and accommodating. We will definitely be back. This is the best deal in DC with the best views, staff, and neighborhood! Lastly, and not least, this fine establishment is Covid-19 accommodating and super clean!!! You won't regret staying here and may want to stay longer! Thank you to Maggie and Ice!

Yelp
We loved everything about the hotel - friendly staff, great location and quiet. We would definitely stay there again.

Yelp
I love boutique hotels and Madera is one of the best boutique hotels I've ever stayed in. The location is perfect and is within walking distance to great restaurants, bars and tourist attractions (if you're in DC touring). The room we had was quite large and included a sectional. We also had a balcony overlooking New Hampshire, which was a nice spot to have a cocktail and people watch in the afternoon. The staff members were extremely helpful and friendly. And, if you own a pet, this is definitely where you want to stay. There is no extra charge for pets and they really spoil your pets. From the moment you walk in, they offer doggie treats and doggie toys. They also send a dog bed up to your room. Every day we were there, they greeted my dog by her name. One evening when we went out to dinner and left our dog in the room, we received a call from the hotel staff informing us that our dog was crying in the room. We expected them to tell us that we needed to come get her. But, they actually asked if they could go get her from the room so that she would not continue to disturb the other guests. They encouraged us to enjoy enjoy our dinner. We gave them permission to get our dog from the room, but ultimately, decided to return to pick her up and we took her to dinner with us. Luckily, many of the restaurants here in DC allow dogs on their patios. We would definitely stay at this hotel again when visiting DC.

Yelp
Stayed for three nights, staff was so friendly, kind and helpful, and every space was just gorgeous and so clean. Got upgraded room for no charge and everything was just perfect. The restaurant Firefly is so beautiful and had amazing service and food. Picture of the Steel-Cut Oatmeal. Highly recommend everything here, truly charming.

Yelp
We found this place using points from Capitol One. A smaller joint, where every single staff member goes out of their way to make you feel welcome. Cute room. Free happy hour. Amazing service. And conveniently located near DuPont Circle to take the metro anywhere you want to go. Would definitely recommend staying here!

Yelp
My husband and I usually stay in one of the large chain hotels when we travel, but this little place gives the 4-stars a run for their money. The king-size room was Quite spacious and smartly furnished making it super comfortable. We really appreciated the filtered water dispenser in the hall outside the rooms. At any time we could go out and fill our glasses or bottles with either flat or bubbly chilled water. In the room instead of the usual coffee maker was a sophisticated electric kettle and both tea and coffee-in-a-tea-bag so that we could enjoy a good quality cuppa anytime we wanted. These options far exceeded the stale room supplies that contribute so much to Starbuck's popularity. We also appreciated the in-room fridge, the black-out shade on the big window and the deluxe shower fixture.

Yelp
Love the Hotel Madera. Had that boutique feeling and personable touch. Stayed in one of the more spacious rooms from Oct 6th thru Oct 10th. Newly remodeled. Very comfortable bed, comforter, and linens. L shaped couch was perfect for just lounging, optimal work space and take out dining. Spacious bathroom and shower. Other amenities - bottled water, refrig, hot water pot, TV made our stay that much better. Above all - the staff were amazing from Maggie, to the 2 gals that worked in tandem, and E. They were so friendly, accommodating, and resourceful. Hotel Madera will be our go to place to stay, enjoy, and relax. Thanks!

Yelp
The Hotel Madera was by far one of the nicest hotels we have ever stayed in. The staff was wonderful, considerate and very helpful with all of our needs. The hotel it's self was absolutely breathtaking. The location of the hotel is perfect to get to the monuments and anywhere for that matter in DC easily with the Metro being right down the road! Lots of nice little coffee shops near as well! The rooms here are so well kept and very modern and fancy. It felt like a home away from home! The firefly is the restaurant connected to the hotel. We made dinner reservations there and the food was amazing! The Steak that I had was very tender and cooked perfectly! All around this hotel was perfect for us and we will definitely be staying here again! 10/10 would recommend coming here!

Yelp
This was our first time visiting Washington DC. Had the best time mostly because of two wonderful employees of your hotel. Cristela Rivera was so helpful and patient with me. Had many questions about how to get around town she wrote down directions for us. Very very nice lady. Then Antoine was a fun and outgoing guy. Made us very comfortable and helped us with our luggage the door and steps.for My husband is a disabled veteran. The trip and stay in Washington DC was fabulous thanks so much cristela and Antoine.
