I stayed in room 21 with my Mum for few nights in February. A lovely, bright and spacious room with a clean bathroom and a beautiful view out the balcony. Fridge included. Mostly friendly staff at the reception. However, don't bother with breakfast. Very poor. The dining room was quiet, only few guests in and we still had to ask for everything everyday as the food was literally rationed by a rude man who additionally watched our every move which made us feel uncomfortable. On the last day even coffee machine was turned off and replaced with a jug of instant coffee with no reason given why. The perfect location is what saves this place.

The historical building is beautiful, which adds to the travesty of what they have done with the place. Our room was on the second floor facing the square. There was no insulation, or soundproofing and we were given only one blanket to share. As a result I caught a cold from the draft from the window and because the yelling from the street and the pungent smell of urine kept us awake. The following day we asked for another blanket, which we got, but we were kept awake between 3-6 AM by manic chatter from upstairs, but at least we had two blankents.|They only clean the rooms every second day and after the cleaning we still had to ask for toilet paper, which the had neglected to provide us with. They also promptly removed the spare blanket that we had asked for. God knows why?||The breakfast was the most dismal thing I’ve seen: bad coffee, a bit of bread and cheese, some cuts of meat yoghurt snd cereal. This was only overshadowed by the absolute lack of style in furnishing a historical building with Ikea-style furniture and cheap sliding doors. There should be laws against that type of thing.||At least the man at the reception was nice, but that doesn’t account for much. I sincerely hope nobody else makes the mistake of booking this hotel. It’s not worth it.

Whatever you do- don’t book an interior room. It’s awful. Not sure how the rooms with a balcony are but interior rooms are the same price and with no window, moldy bathroom , old beds etc - not sure the exterior rooms are better.

Perfect location and a perfect stay in a wunderful room (No 3), a big modern bathroom, beautiful furniture and with a small balcony. I would wish a water kettle & cups, a wineglass & bottle opener in the room…. Nice restaurants right on the doorstep…

This is historically an iconic hotel, which was the reason for our visit! We spent three nights here. If you do not mind creaky floors, which adds to the charm, and draughty doors, then I'd recommend a visit and if you're lucky, you may get to sleep in room no 3! It was spotlessly clean. The gentleman at the reception was most welcoming and helpful. A balcony provides a view over the wonderful plaza and views of the wonderful Gabinete Literario. This is also worth a visit and has a good restaurant. Do visit the Plaza San Francisco and the lovely church. Work is ongoing repaving but let that not put you off. The Madrid restaurant, next door to the hotel, serves very good freshly made fruit juices. We also had very nice pizzas in the Italian, down the road. This is a good base if you would like to spend some time exploring the beautiful architecture of the Vegueta and visit el Mercardo.

Lovely quaint hotel in the historic part of Grancanaria. I would 100% stay here again. The staff were so friendly and although basic it’s a great hotel. The only negatives were that because there is no air con we had the windows open at night and it’s a very noisy area. If you are used to the hustle and bustle it would be fine, but being a country boy like me it was very noisy. However that said I would come back for a couple of night as a maximum at a time

Excellent restaurant. The food was amazing! We didn't stay here but stopped off here on the way back from visiting the cathedral and the house of Christopher Columbus. The outside tables were thankfully in the shade. The staff were very helpful. Would thoroughly recommend eating here.
