We were looking forward to our stay at Hotel Maestoso, especially because of its location near the famous Lipizzaner stud farm. One clear positive was the size of the room, which offered plenty of space – a big plus when traveling with a baby.
Unfortunately, other aspects of the stay did not meet our expectations. The only à la carte restaurant was closed, and the buffet only opens at 7:00 PM, which simply doesn’t work when traveling with a 9-month-old child.
Service also left a lot to be desired – the reception staff and partly the breakfast team did not really create a welcoming atmosphere, and we often felt like we were not truly welcome as guests.
Additionally, despite being charged €20 per night for our dog and notifying the hotel in advance, there was no dog bed or water bowl provided – something we would expect as a basic courtesy in a pet-friendly hotel. The fee wasn’t charged in fact after a hint on that during checkout.
Overall, the price-performance ratio was disappointing.
The hotel has great potential due to its location and architecture – but hospitality, attention to detail, and family- & pet-friendliness need clear improvement.
