Hotel Magerl

Family run traditional hotel with great views in a great location. I don't know how they manage with a hotel of this size, that you still feel as welcome and loved like a family guest. That's reference hospitality! Some may like it t but big disadvantage for me: no dogs allowed

Amazing location right next to the (quiet) cable car. We had an appartment with 2 rooms and a living room and were very happy. Breakfast is great and the pool is small but super nice especially for colder days and the kids. But the far superior experience is to of course swim in the lake. I recommend going to the public area next to the area that is included with the hotel. The best part of this hotel is however the amazing and sweet owner. I never put much emphasis on this part as long as the rooms are good but she is a wonderful warm person and the hotel is worth booking for her hospitality alone :)

I stayed here for two weeks while in the area on business. The location and view are 5-star, the family owners are welcoming and friendly. As an only English speaker I was nervous to come to Gmunden but upon arriving at Magerl I was relieved, the staff speak perfect English and are very accommodating. The man who is host is very friendly and will talk basketball with you, among other topics. I have nothing but good things to say about this guest house, I will stay here again next time I'm in the country, and will tell all of my friends and associates the same. Thank you Magerl family for making my first time in Austria a great experience.

The best part of this hotel is the location, around 2-3 minutes walk from the Grunberg lift, similar to the lake and maybe 10 minutes from the town area. Perfect.||We stayed in a family room. These are not well described on their website but was a double room plus a room attached with two single beds. The room was large. There was one bathroom with bath and over bath shower. Everything was very clean. Decor was perhaps a little dated but all required furnishings there. We had a small balcony that overlooked the back of the hotel rather than the lake so whilst we paid for "Lake view", this was from the windows rather than balcony. WiFi was not accessible from our room.||Breakfast was served in main hotel building. Buffet with breads, cheese, ham, boiled eggs, croissants, yoghurt. A great spread.||There was a pool but we did not use or even look at. ||Staff were so friendly. ||Very reasonably priced.

While working in Austria for 3 months and this hotel was home away from home. With amazing views, extremely accomodating and friendly staff , i would pick this hotel 9.5/10 for vacation and work :)

It was really wonderful place! Room was tidy and clean. Also in the room,There is a terrace which you can see a nice lake view. Within the walking distance , there is a small town. Every workers are really kind and nice. Breakfast was really good. I’m satisfied with whole things.

A very nice hotel with a great view. Our double room was huge, with comfortable furnitures. On their home page it said they are doing it for 3 generations now, and it felt like that. Everybody was nice and helpful, everybody had a few kind words for us or for our one year old baby. It was like visiting a family. Definitely recommended.

Stayed here while attending a business convention. First of all, the area is magnificent! And the hotel is located about twenty minutes walk from the city center and right by the cable car up to a beautiful area for hiking.||||The hotel is average in standard but has big rooms and balconies overlooking the lake and landscape below. I enjoyed that very much!||||They have a pool (which I wished they opened up so there could be a breeze and ability to walk outside during the summer) and sauna area, which was amazing after a long day.||||Breakfast was fine and normally they also have access to half board, which I'm sure would be great. However, they gave good recommendations for restaurants in the city that gave a culinary experience worth to remember.
