Booked two double rooms for 3 nights at Hotel Magnolia. It seems there is a newer part of the building and an older part so my review is mixed. Our room was in the old part and was pretty dated but very very clean. We got a smoking room despite asking for a non-smoking room but it didn't smell and I am picky about these things. The room had air conditioning which we could program as we wanted. For two out of the three nights there was loud music coming from nearby. Even with the windows closed we could hear the heavy beat in the room. At first we thought it was a wedding in the neighbouring hotel (Crystal) but decided it must have been some kind of disco. Therefore, we couldn't sleep with the window open. Plus, the hotel is on a busy street and the traffic noise is pretty loud. ||||Our travelling companions had a room in the newer part which was bigger, brighter, had nicer furniture, and an updated bathroom with towel warmer. However, it seems the air conditioning in the newer section is connected to the central system and can only be turned on when a certain outside temperature is reached. This could be a problem if you have a different heat-tolerance level than what the owners pre-programmed!||||Breakfast was pretty lame. The exact same selection on all three mornings. Small white rolls with cheese and ham, little packaged jams, yogurt, cereal, tea, and coffee (which was reported as pretty bad), and some dry cakes as well as some croissants warmed on a warming plate. They could have offered more variety.||||The owners (man and wife) as well as the breakfast woman don't seem to speak any English at all and will gladly go on explaining things to you in Italian while you have a blank look on your face. But somehow, you get the gist and go on your merry way!||||They seem to own Hotel Crystal next door but for some reason are to be found at Magnolia all the time. Crystal looked nicer from the lobby/bar. We wanted to have a night cap one night and neither hotel offers a decent bar in which to do so. ||||Can't report on the bus service into Treviso or Venice as we had a car and drove everywhere ourselves. Interesting thing is that the road between the hotel and Venice was full of prostitutes standing at the side of the road and that at only 11pm at night!! That was a pretty strange sight. You would never guess it during the day!||||Next time we want to go to Venice, I think we'll skip Treviso and its hotels (as traffic into Venice was unbearable and made 20kms seem like forever) and just stay in Venice itself.
