20 Best Hotels for a Beach Wedding

"This serene oceanfront retreat offers luxury rooms and suites plus a private beach, only adding to the exclusive ambiance. Wedding packages are completely customizable, and the property can accommodate parties of all sizes. While the beach itself serves as an ideal setting for ceremonies and receptions (which can hold anywhere from 20 to 200 people), couples can utilize one of the other sea-facing venues such as the spa deck (max: 80), pool deck (max: 50), the sun-drenched Rockies Restaurant (max: 100), or the aptly named On The Beach Restaurant (max: 50)." - Travel + Leisure Editors

Manapany - Hotel Review | Condé Nast Traveler

"Set the scene. Tucked away in the heart of one of St Barth’s few true neighborhoods, Anse de Cayes—once a Portuguese stronghold—this hotel feels homespun and personable. There are wooden decks for wave-watching, a sky-reflecting oval pool and pretty rooms hidden like garden dens amid tumbles of greenery and peacock-bright flowers, palms and avocado trees. What’s the story? Owner Anne Jousse—proprietor of several hotels in France, including the groundbreaking Bel Ami and Domaine de La Bretesche in the Loire-Atlantique region—has brought to the Caribbean a perfect one-off: an ecologically responsible hotel with good bones. Manapany was one of the island's first to welcome guests and a hot spot in the 1970s—and closed its doors well before the hurricanes hit the island in 2017. Now there’s a clear commitment to the environment, with solar panels providing much of the power, an effort to avoid use of chemicals, and only electric cars allowed through its gates. What can we expect from our room? Many of the breezy, easy white-washed rooms open directly to the sand; others are worth the climb for sweeping ocean views from enormous terraces. Ours even had an extra room with a twin bed, perfect for a small family. And you'll see startling pops of color—walls in peppery red, turmeric yellow, mint green, or ultramarine blue, and Mexican rugs and cushions. Buy and bring home one (or several) of the bamboo-fiber beach towels. How about the food and drink? Kick off your shoes. This is barefoot dining at its best—and locally sourced to boot, much of it from the vegetable garden or orchard, some of it reeled in by the island’s fishing boats. The over-water restaurant has a menu wrapping up flavors from both Brittany and the Caribbean. Anything to say about the service? Genuinely amiable. Who comes here? Those in the know, who know that Manapany is hidden only five minutes’ drive from the airport and Baie Saint-Jean. How does it fit into the region? The resort is set on a semi-rocky, walkable beach with surf sounds to lull you to sleep. The island’s other hotels have been brought back from the brink, with names such as Villa Marie Saint-Barth and Cheval Blanc St-Barth reopening following past hurricanes. Manapany has been conceived from a similar DNA, though feels sharper and more focused on its eco-credentials. Anything we missed? Those electric cars we mentioned: You can rent them. Just plug it in in the parking space, or adjacent to your room, and you won’t have to worry about a fill-up en route to departure. Worth it—and why? Yes, to see the island returning to normal with a recalibrated sense of direction." - David Jefferys

20 Best Things to Do on St. Barts

The Best New Hotels in the World: 2019 Hot List

"Unique on an island well known for profligate excess, Parisian Anne Jousse, owner of a portfolio of small hotels in France, sought to introduce more than a modicum of eco-responsibility to St. Bart’s. The glamorous hotelier had fallen for Manapany, a once-upon-a-time chic spot on the sleepy north shore, on family trips. She bought the place in 2016 and initiated a top-to-bottom reconstruction of its 4.2-acre beachfront on Anse des Cayes. Several years and one major hurricane later, it’s been reborn. Water is heated by solar panels, no chemicals are used in cleaning or maintenance, towels are made of woven bamboo, and only electric cars are permitted beyond reception. Yet Jousse’s endeavor isn’t lacking a lick of luxe. All 43 sea-view rooms and villas—eight directly on the sand, others a mighty but rewarding 80 steps above and with enormous terraces—are gracefully decorated by Parisian designer François Champsaur, with walls painted peppery red, turmeric orange, mint green, or ultramarine blue. Impossibly attractive staff serve artfully crafted rhum agricoles at barefoot dinners, and a Dr. Hauschka–supplied beachside spa has raised St. Bart’s wellness game. With its design ethos and ecological focus, Manapany represents the next wave of Caribbean hotels." - CNT Editors

We purchased lunch day passes from the hotel for 85 euro per person. Money well spent! We arrived at the hotel after 10am and were warmly greeted by staff. They valeted our car for free and we headed to the pool. We were able to choose the loungers that we wanted and had great service throughout our time at the pool. ||We opted for a later lunch, and headed to the restaurant for our 3 course lunch that was part of the lunch day pass package. Absolutely wonderful meal with great service. We each had an appetizer, main course, and dessert. All of the food was outstanding. ||A big thanks to Sarah for visiting with us and offering us tips for the remainder of our trip. ||We had a top notch experience with our lunch day passes. A great value.

This is our favorite hotel ever with amazing service. When we needed help getting from St. Maarten to St. Barth due to our flight being canceled, Nawal (concierge) saved the day. Matilde helped us in every way possible with transportation and helping us get around town. The hotel is located near the airport and ferry and very close to St. Jean. The room was luxe but not flashy. They are very eco conscious, which was appreciated. Everyone on the staff is kind and gracious. The spa is amazing, the food is also amazing. I also enjoyed the drinks from the bar. This is the best hotel at which I have ever stayed. There are several other resorts on the island that we had checked out, but nothing beat Manapany.

Bought a day pass and lived the life of luxury here at Manapany…..if only for a little while. They are the epitome of service, friendliness, and quality. Did not see the rooms/bungalows so cannot comment about them; but the pool, beach, bar, restaurant, and service staff are exceptional. The ocean is the Atlantic and can be rough, but watching the surfers was fun. Private, peaceful, and heavenly - - a true 5 star experience.

Hotel Manapany exceeded our expectations during our early November visit. This hidden gem sits on its own beach, just moments from the lively Baie St. Jean, offering the perfect balance of seclusion and accessibility. What sets this property apart is its relaxed, unpretentious atmosphere—it delivers five-star luxury without the formality. The staff consistently went above and beyond to ensure our comfort, and every meal at the on-site restaurant was exceptional. Special recognition goes to Sarah and the entire team at The Rockies, whose attentive service and genuine helpfulness made our stay truly memorable.|Laura's reception staff—Anais, Elea, and Enzo—helped us navigate the island, and the valet team—JC, Valentin, and Mathilde—always had our car available at a moment's notice.|The hotel concierge, Clara, was very responsive and helpful as we planned our trip and coordinated the logistics of getting to and from the island, which can be challenging. We hope to return next November.

Just spectacular - in every regard. Superb location, wonderful food and the best thing the staff ||Everyone we dealt with were welcoming , polite and efificient. A total contrast to our experience in St Kitts the day before . We spend an amazing day on a day pass and it was the highlight of our trip. We cannot wait to go back. My wife and I have travelled to a lot of locations but when looking at all round excellence, this place is in our top two. And a big thanks to Sasha for such wonderful attentive Service. We can’t wait to come back

Hotel Manapany gets it right! It feels more like a really chic beach house than a typical resort. It's stylish but totally unpretentious. The design is beautiful, and the whole atmosphere is calm, breezy, and welcoming.||It's tucked away in a quieter part of St. Barths, which was a huge plus. No loud beach clubs or big crowds. My room was cozy, with a separate living room and a lovely view over the foliage and a bit of the sea.||The food is a standout. Everything I ate was fresh and delicious. The burrata was amazing and the mahi mahi ceviche was easily one of the best I've had. Breakfast was also great every day, with beautiful views of the sea.||The hotel's commitment to sustainability is a big plus, from desalinated water and electric vehicles toe co-friendly products and even a turtle crossing in the fence. It's clear they put a lot of thought into protecting the environment without sacrificing comfort.||The staff was friendly and down to earth — special shoutout to Laura, who had awesome local tips and really made me feel at home.

We can not say enough about Hotel Manapany. We spent nine days there and had an excellent experience. The staff was superb in all respects from the concierge to the bar staff, the restaurant and to housekeeping. They made a real effort to make the experience fantastic. It is centrally located and that is a big advantage. The room was great, right on the beach, and beautifully appointed. The breakfast was great as was the restaurant for dinners. We needed a car and the staff had one delivered to the hotel. Google maps works just ok on the island, and we had some confusion getting to one of the restaurants that was recommended. The staff went above and beyond to make sure that we arrived at the destination. Anything that we needed was just a simple call away. And all of their recommendations were spot on. The best way to experience the island is to travel to different beaches and Gustavia/St Jeans and that requires guidance that was readily available. We had a very good feeling at Manapany and would highly recommend it to anyone wanting to have a great experience on St Barths. Not a thing to say that was negative.
