Stayed with this great staff and at this wonderful location for a month. I have small children and I just needed a break from the every day so we booked here. Long post but broken down by category! In no particular order, here are my thoughts! 1. Location. The resort has both road and water access. In the gated commmunity that the resort is a part of there is a little store with essentials like snacks, a sampling of medications and drinks to go. The resort is close to San Felipe where you can find most of your quick essentials - 20 min walk. You can also walk to the Castillo! Of course if you don't want to walk, you could arrange a lancha (front desk has recommended numbers) or use one of the bikes that are free to rent for guests! Superwings is just down the road too- and their wings are...SUPER! The other way, you can head into Fronteras for anything else you might need and or some night life/great street food/ATM. It is an easy 40 min walk, but I much preferred grabbing the collectivo at the gates (but they do stop running around 6). Sadly, tuc tucs are not allowed to come from Fronteras to the resort (not the resort's fault!!) but taxis and lanchas have worked well for travels in the dark. 2. Restaurant. EAT HERE! The restaurant is beautiful, accomdates big groups, and has a more peaceful vibe than the busier places in town- if you need a quiet dinner or drink. There (at the time of this posting) are drink specials every weekday. Want you drink by the pool? No probelm- they will just switch you to an unbreakable glass. The food is AMAZING. Everything we have tried, we have ordered again. Unique, delicious, beautifully presented. The restaurant has an air conditioned room for those hot days on the river! The whole space is clean and beautiful (at night especially!). It also has docking in case you want to boat down. And after your meal...maybe a swim? 3. Facilities. We haven't explored them all but the kids loved the garden maze and trampoline, basketball/futbol court (equipment at reception), great pool/waterslide, ping pong, foosball, paddleboats and kayaks. All included. I enjoyed quiet spaces with wifi to work and the pool keeping the kids entertained! The grounds are beautiful and walkways are well maintained and well lit. 4. Safety. No concerns. Gated community, 24/7 roaming security, well lit areas. Vigilant and attentive staff. 5. Staff. Saved the best for last. Just wonderful with my kids and I!! Friendly, caring, patient, responsive, knowledgeable, helpful and always smiling. I cant say enough about them. We truly felt at home. So we extended our stay!

A great place to stay for a few days or a few weeks. The hotel is very god. Their restaurant is great (food and service). There is a nice sweeming pool and you may get towels by the pool. Yoy may also rent kayaks there. Everything is surrounded by beautiful and nicely kept landscaping. Just don't forget to return both room keys that I almost did.

I gotta say, the food in the restaurant was my most favorite part of staying at the hotel. Very tasteful, really delicious. The service from the staff was amazing. I would go back just for the food...

Service was excellent, our rooms were roomy clean and renovated. We stayed a couple nights and had the pleasure to enjoy the place. The food is outstanding at any time of the day! Will definitely come back.

The location is great with many services available on site; Restuaraunt, pool, boats, etc. The rooms could be a tad cleaner : Debbie found a critter in the bed. I worry about room security; After we returned from breakfast the maid had entered our room and left the door wide open with our belonging in plain site. She was working neat door bit did not notice we entered our room. Anyone could have done so. The restaurant was good with good service. However for the largest and maybe most recognized hotel property in the area I was disappointed. We had prepared for Teo nights but left after one.

Several months ago I noted that the hotel needs some attention. It seems like since then it has got a lot. The rooms seems fresher, cleaner and the hotel overall well more prepared for guests. it is close to the Castle of San Felipe de Lara which is worth a side trip. The hotel can arrange a private boat shuttle from their dock.

Nice place right next to the lake. Rooms have the correct size, friendly staff and areas for relax. There is a restaurant with different options for food. Two pools one for kids. Small gym and private parking lot. You are like 5 minutes away from Castillo De San Felipe.
