Hotel Mari Carmen

Pilgrims from UK walking the Camino Mozárabe. Nice clean large hotel room, with lots of hot water! Food in the cafe/bar is not well cooked and very disappointing.

Hubby and I stayed in this hotel. The receptionist was REALLY friendly upon entry. We were checked in fairly quickly. One can park outside the hotel (plenty free parking there)-no private though. The hotel has a restaurant which one could eat breakfast, lunch etc. The room was very clean. Handicap accessible and friendly. There is an elevator. We hadnt paid for breakfast in our package as one could eat as the locals do (which we love doing). There are restaurants near the hotel that serve the local spanish breakfast. Internet was good. Great location. We had a view of the street. Beds were very comfortable. Very short but pleasant stay. Have a question? Just ask them at reception. They seem so happy to help and guide us around their beautiful city. HIGHLY recommend this hotel if you e in Guadix. Thank you Hotel Mari Carmen! :)

Guadix is not a prime tourist city and the hotel situation reflects it. This hotel has easy access from the autovia and the parking situation is good. In good weather, that we did not enjoy, it is within an easy walk to the few amenable visiting sites in town. The rooms are of reasonable size and unfortunately have carpeting that in the local weather are not an asset. The bathrooms are adequate and the overall state of cleanliness above average. The wi.fi works well and the desk personnel were friendly and eager to provide information about town. Breakfast at next door bar is convenient and low cost. The main negative is the noise insulation within hotel rooms. Street noise is well controlled thanks to double pane windows.

Used this hotel as a simple stopover during our road trip from France to Portugal based on TA reviews. ||The comments about the restaurant were .very tempting.||||for € 45 per night one cannot expect much for the accomodation but we did go here because of the restaurant that was rated as very good.||The room was very good, excellent velue for money.||Tiny balcony on a very noisy street, but what can you expect for €45....||We did not mind as we were focossed on the the so much recommended restaurant.||This restaurant is no longer in operation.||Plastic tables and chairs are the alternative.||Not a single decent reataurant available in town. Just a crappy and very expensive pizzeria with the same plastic furniture.||If you do not be to be here, scip this town!

Hotel is alright. Rooms are not too spacy and carpets were never hoovered during my 3 weeks stay!!!!.. It was all dirty when I've booked in and hasn't been touched until I left.||Food in downstairs restaurant is quite nice and meals are huge. Waited named Maria is super nice although none of the staff speak English!

Good prices, clean modern rooms, great food, very inexpensive, easy on off A92. My laptop could not get the WiFi so they brought someone in at 10 PM and he figured out the problem for me at no cost. I gave him 20 euro for his help though.Outdoor eating till 10 or 11 PM on the weekdays. This is a quality Michlen rated hotel.

Stayed in this quaint and accessible hotel in the beautiful town in Guadix famous for the cave houses, cathedrals, and the local bread and hot chocolate. Hotel Mari Carmen was very accessible with ample parking outside. Exceptional value for money for a very comfortable, clean and bright room. The mattress was sensational. Attentive staff and a nice adjoining typical cafeteria next door.A great base for our weekend exploring Gaudix and the surrounding area.

Large, clean, cool rooms - good hotel at OK price. Strange brightly-lit built-in cafe/restaurant absolutely excellent - helpful, friendly and efficient staff, and really good food. Parking great - just outside, and easy to find from A-92.
