First - the location is brilliant. Ski in and ski out is fantastic. But as good as the location, the service team is way better. Anna and Ori on the day shift are simply sublime and are very friendly and supporting. And Isabelle on the night shift is fantastic for helping out when everyone is asleep and you’d think there’d be nobody to help you.

Just spent 2 weeks in this little gem. The hotel is ideally located right on the ski slopes, with super clean and comfortable "Superior" rooms, "average +" Food & Beverage and SUPER KIND staff from management, reception, cleaning staff to restaurant staff. We felt at home and look forward to coming back next year.

We visited 8th to 15th March, half board. Positives: The location really is amazing, right on the slopes with easy ski in/ski out. The rooms are fine, and the sauna/steam room are a good size and clean. The reception staff were very friendly, and super helpful when our friend had an accident. However, the food and service were disappointing, given the premium the hotel had. 1. The evening buffet had very odd "main" dishes (liver, beef hearts etc), and frequently dishes would run out and not be replaced (good luck to those eating at the later 8:30 sitting). Compared to restaurants in the village the food was just not very enticing. The desserts however were always great. Hat tip to the pastry chef. 2, Breakfast service was inconsistent. Multiple times at breakfast dishes would run out and not be replaced, or no plates would be available. It felt like this was just understaffed. 3, Lunch is "a la carte", and quality of the food was better. 4, Service on the terrace was very slow. We waited 30 minutes on the terrace for a round of drinks. I would come back as the location is great, but I would not pay for the half-board option.

Amazing location, small but very expensive rooms, but good quality. bar staff - some were excellent, some were not. Very surprised that the entrance by the reception was never cleared of snow and ice and very dangerous. Good ski/boot room and cupboards and access to the slopes.

My husband and 10 months old baby had the pleasure to stay in Hotel Mariëlle. We had an unforgettable experience that exceeded our expectations. The location is perfect, and our little baby could go to day care right next to the hotel. The buffet was various, and the quality of the food was excellent. They also offer daily specials, for example we had live cooking Crepe Suzette one night. For food lovers I would highly recommend this hotel. The staff was friendly. They remember you, they make a small talk with you and they are genuinely showing interest in you as a person. Their service is exceptional. I have never felt so much at home and appreciated as last week at hotel Marielle. Also they host welcome drinks with the new people that have arrived. In this way, we had a good connection with the hotel guests and we really had the idea that we made friends by the end of the week. The hotel bar was a really cool place and my spicy margaritas have never tasted so good as in the bar. Last but not least; the sauna is great and the hamam is very relaxing after a long day of skiing. Would recommend this place 10/10.

I was traveling with my toddler and 6 other adults, 5 of us got severely ill from food poisoning (or stomach virus) and the baby got diarrhea. I talked with other guests and they were also sick. This was day 3 of our trip, so we did not arrive sick. Here are some other insights from my visit: (1) the view is absolutely amazing and the staff is very friendly and do their best to help. They drove me to the pharmacy when it was snowing (for food poisoning medicine) (2) the Nuxe spa is 5 star experience! Staff is very friendly and skilled and the setting is very relaxing and peaceful. (3) the meals are buffet-style for breakfast and dinner. You have to serve yourself coffee from a machine like you would find at a gas station. They don’t have bananas or fresh fruit. Fish and chicken are raw (hence the food poisoning). You have to slice your own bread, meaning everyone touches the bread and bread knife. They are missing standard things like salad dressing and plain cereal. (4) Rooms are stuffy and the only air circulation is the bedroom window, so the bath and toilet rooms are always humid and stinky. I found the previous guests socks on a shelf in our room. They only change your towels OR bedding. They provide 2 glasses in your room but they never clean them or change them, just rinse and put upside down on the desk. You only get bath and hand towels, no washcloths. My husband asked the front desk (in French) and the staff doesn’t know what a washcloth is. They brought us disposable cotton rounds. (5) the hotel lobby has a self-serve coffee, tea and water station with hotel branded plastic cups. There’s a bin for the plastic cups, which I assumed would be recycled, but no! The staff rinses them and puts them back on the shelf! I have seen cups with coffee rings and lipstick. (6) the hotel starts blasting club music at 10am and goes on until 4pm. Every day. (7) the ski locker room has such a strong smell of body odor, it hits you in the face. Maybe if they had washcloths people would clean their feet and armpits!

Great mountain, bad hotel experience. Don’t stay here if you want to sleep. The heating system is terrible and makes the rooms hot and stuffy and can’t be lowered. The hotel technician told us to just turn it off and open the door from time to time. Fine but when it’s -12 outside you have to open and close the door every hour. Plus the neighbours shouted and screamed for an hour at 3am. The restaurant service was also poor. Slow and unprofessional, which was a shame because the food was pretty good.

Fantastic hotel in Val Thorens, situated right in the valley with excellent access to all ski lifts. Conveniently located in front of the ESF ski school, it also features a children’s room in the bar. I visit every year. It’s the best place for families seeking the highest elevation ski area with guaranteed snow. I would rate the buffet dinner a bit lower at 4 stars because it’s a lot of the same. The breakfast I would recommend to have an egg station to get an omelette for example. But again overall: great hotel
