Hotel Marina Resort

We spent two wonderful weeks at Hotel Marina Resort in March 2025 and were thoroughly impressed with the value for money. Our room in block 3 on the third floor was beautiful, though the number of stairs might be challenging for some.|The hotel itself is incredibly clean and comfortable, with well-maintained facilities. The staff were exceptionally attentive and friendly, making our stay truly enjoyable. Breakfast, while simple (eggs, omelets, coffee, fruit, and yogurt), was perfectly adequate. The three pools were spotless and refreshing, surrounded by lovely gardens meticulously cared for by a dedicated gardener. The overall setting was truly beautiful and tranquil.|A special mention must go to Raoul, the kitchen manager. His warm hospitality and incredible baking (cornbread, apple strudel, and fruitcake!) were a delightful surprise. Fernando at reception was also incredibly helpful, friendly, and charming, with excellent English skills.|The hotel's beach club is a definite plus, despite the beach itself being average. While the location (next to a petrol station and overlooking a car park) is not ideal, the beach club's design and facilities are excellent. The restaurant at the beach club was a bit inconsistent, with one amazing meal and one disappointing one, and the prices were higher than in the main town.|Overall, we had a fantastic stay at Hotel Marina Resort. The primarily Mexican clientele created a lovely atmosphere, and the hotel's quiet location was perfect for relaxation. We would definitely return, but next time we would request a room on a lower floor. Highly recommended for those seeking excellent value, a clean and comfortable stay, and a warm and welcoming atmosphere.|

Staff and service are very friendly and helpful. Nice restaurant next door and can order food/drinks at the bar. The campus has a very old world feel to it and beautiful views from the rooms. There is no elevator ... so if stairs are problematic for you, you may want to reconsider. Good location. Clean rooms.

really liked the hotel itself but staff were a little overbearing, particularly male staff asking if I was by myself and if I had a boyfriend as a young female solo traveller… not cool. Also, at one point staff just walked into my room without knocking and then didn’t even apologize! Just asked if it was only me in the room and walked back out! That was crazy to me. Otherwise, pool was lovely, gardens very nice, and I like the beach club down the road

Great hotel, service was great, we had the master with two bedrooms looking over the pool, and it was spacious. The cleaning ladies were lovely, and all personnel were kind and helpful.

The Hotel Marina Resort is amazing. The service is excellent, the location is really good, and access to the Beach Resort is fantastic (It's a beautiful facility with a great, quiet, calm beach). We needed to switch rooms because I hurt myself and couldn't do all the stairs, so they accommodated us and moved us to a ground level room. The facility is great and breakfast is delicious and included!! We highly recommend staying here. The pool area is awesome and the buildings are beautiful.

This hotel is truly a hidden gem! We cant wait to go back!|We went for a week and kept extending our stay! The resort is very local/spanish (yes is it in Mexico!) English is not widely spoken, but still very easy to communicate with the staff, and google translate if in doubt!|The rooms were CLEAN, basic, but exactly what is shown in the photos. Rooms service is available for coffee, breakfast, etc.|The pool area is spotless, nice chairs, tables & umbrellas. There is service from the restaurant to the pool area, as well as a bar that is poolside.|The beach resort is outstanding!! It is about a 4 minute walk to the ocean side where the resort is. It is beautiful! Pools, layout beds, couches, chairs & tables, curtains blowing in the breeze & for shade, a full bar, food service & best of all amazing staff!|We were lucky to have found this hotel & met so many of the staff in different departments! The reservations/booking department is very helpful if you need to contact them with any questions - they are located right at the hotel.|-Gilbert - (concierge) is happy to arrange transportation to/from the airport at a fantastic rate, as well as any tours or boat trips you might want.|-Victor is the manager at the beach club and is absolutely top notch! Great service and staff, the beach club is truly a fantastic quiet place to hang out!|-taxi to other beaches (maguey) is only about 10 min drive and less than 100 MX.|-a nice pathway to the 'downtown square' is about a 10-15 minute walk, grocery store is about the same distance.|-tons and tons of great restaurants nearby on the beach and in the area. Fits for all budgets.

We have stayed at Marina hotel and resort many times over the last 6 years and it is consistently fantastic. I don’t understand the critical reviews at all. Front desk super helpful and flexible on us choosing a room we like. Pools lovely. The addition of the beach club is fabulous. Location can’t be beaten for surrounding restaurants and access to the beach. |Rooms super clean and sound proof. Stayed in a corner room with view of marina.|All staff just beautiful people. |Wifi been upgraded since our last visit in 2022 so it’s rock solid. |10 out of 10 for the price.

Location is perfect. The hotel is quite nice but the rooms leave something to be desired. The rooms in the "100s" are nice and have internet but everywhere else internet sucks and rooms look cheap. I'm in the 500s and there is little to no internet all the time. Really nice place besides that

Horrible!!!! The worse place ever from the front desk to the restaurant. My mom fell in the lobby area no staff had the compassion or courtesy to ask if she was OK. The rooms were a joke . Ugly, bed not comfortable. Overall not a good place to rest after a long day of exploring Huatulco. Need to have air conditioner on otherwise you be too hot at night. No blankets in room. The staff is not happy! If reflects on the service. If you want to be comfortable and have an enjoyable experience Do not stay at this hotel. Good day Enjoy your vacation​ Oh! The pool extremely dirty with bird poop. Gross ....not safe ....health hazard

Marina Resort & Beach Club is AMAZING. This place is in a prime location close to everything in town. It's across the street from Bahia de Santa Cruz, 10 min walk to "El Centro" (downtown), and a short drive to everything else. It has a beach club with high-end views of the marina, delicious food, and drinks. Cabo, Cancun, and Acapulco have nothing on this place. This is a hidden gem that will make you regret not visiting sooner. The staff is friendly and extremely attentive. We could not be happier with their hospitality. A five-star resort without the cost. The resort fees include an outstanding breakfast. I highly recommend their molletes. We stayed in room 522 which has spectacular views of the ocean to the left, the pool in the center, and the lush mountains to the right. Million-dollar views, for sure! We highly recommend this place. As I mentioned earlier, the only regret you will have is not visiting sooner;) Thank you to all the amazing staff, especially Max who went the extra mile to make our stay that much more enjoyable even when we thought there wasn't anything left to fulfill. My husband and myself stayed here last week. Worst hotel experience I've had. Our bedroom was dirty. The tiolet did not flush. The room service didn't clean unless we asked. The phone didn't work even to call for room service. There was a leak in our room. And the water from The rain was coming in through The front door. The hotel is nothing like it looks in the pictures. The pools are gross. It looked like they hadn't been cleaned in like 2 weeks. And the staff was absolutely awful. Not all all friendly. Rude. We never got a good morning or buenos dias.... nothing. We asked if they can call for a can and they said no you can walk down the block to get one. They forgot to put towels in our room. And I'm missing $209 pesos that I had left on tp.p of my luggage. This place was absolutely awful. I would not recommend this place to anyone. There is a holiday inn across the way from there that looked better. Pictures online of this hotel are not real. I've looked and looked and wow I have not been able to find some real ones. I took some myself but i can't upload them for some reason. But this place is awful. Please don't stay here. There is other hotels for cheaper and I'm sure they will have better customer service.
