Hotel Marina Rio

Perfect hotel. Location central - few minutes walk to the centre. Lots of restaurants within vicinity. Viva restaurant almost next door is definitely worth a visit. Beach about a ten minute slow walk from hotel. Marina directly opposite hotel. Staff at this hotel are amazing. Friendly and helpful. The hotel is spotless - have been at many 5 star establishments and would say that the cleaning beats all of those I have stayed in. Rooms are well equipped and modern. Balcony lovely for a morning coffee or if an early riser - you can watch the sunrise. Have been to Lagos before and stayed at another hotel which was good but if returning would not hesitate in booking here again. Whoever owns this hotel is extremely lucky to have such a dedicated team.

We have stayed and reviewed this hotel many times over the years but after another lovely week spent in Lagos have to say Marina Rio is simply the best. Firstly it is spotlessly clean everywhere. The rooms have everything we needed for another comfy stay and the breakfast has a good selection of hot and cold choice to suit everyone's requirements. Best of all are the wonderful team who always make us so welcome. For Jorge and Isabel on reception nothing is too much trouble. They arranged our return taxi transfers from Faro airport and even reserved a table at a favorite restaurant when we were unable to make contact from the UK. Think this was maybe our 7th stay, possibly more and we will be back again. Rooms overlooking Marina are great for the view but we prefer one at the back of hotel as find it much more peaceful. Hotel Marina Rio was amazing! It was very easy to get everywhere in Lagos. It's close to all the activities (10 minute walk to the center), but not in the noisy areas. It's easy to get to the Marina (2 minute walk) to go on any boat tours. There is also a nice pool on the roof that was great to cool off. The room and bathroom were large and nice. ||Rita was great! She answered all of our (many) questions with a smile and a laugh. She had great insight into the area, beaches, and all the restaurants. She really made us feel at home during our stay.

Excellent, very clean hotel within walking distance to the Old Town of Lagos. The room had all the necessities and a cute little porch to sit on. The pool was a pleasant temperature and the rooftop seating area was perfect for having a drink before dinner while watching the boats come in from the marina. The only downside to the room we had (107) was the outdoor street light was right outside the room which, if you like the room dark, made the room bright for sleeping. I used the throw pillows to block the light from coming in under the curtains and didn’t have an issue falling asleep. Would highly recommend this hotel!

Very enjoyable stay. Room was spotless and very well equipped. Beautiful view of the marina from the room, would recommend booking marina view room. Lovely rooftop area to with pool to relax and enjoy the views of the marina and beach. Will be back, thanks for a lovely stay.

Great hotel. Room was a great size and very comfortable. Worth paying a bit extra for balcony and view of the Marina. Staff were really nice and accomodating. Location was perfect - only a short walk into the centre of town. Really enjoyed our stay.

This hotel is located right in the heart of Lagos with a walking distance to organized tours' meeting places, old town restaurants and shops, as well as marina. Clean, modern rooms and a nice size swimming pool on the top. Receptionists are courteous, knowledgeable, and willing to assist with every issue. We were not able to get an extra night because they were fully booked, but we were more than welcome to store our luggage until we were ready to leave the town. If you would like to be in the middle of action but at a peaceful enclave, this hotel is a place to be.

This is a perfectly adequate hotel adjacent to the Marina (I guess the clue is in the name). The rooms at the front, have a small balcony, over a busy road, facing the Marina and get the sun up to lunchtime. At the back they overlook the main bus station but, on the upside, they get afternoon/evening sun. The rooftop is OK with a very small pool. There is a small bar adjacent to the reception but we never saw anyone use it. The rooms are very clean, fairly basic but you get what you pay for. The hotel next door is double the price with similar sized rooms and an identical view. We didn’t eat breakfast as there are several decent places locally. Not sure it’s a 4 star, but is certainly a very good 3 star and if we returned to Lagos, which is unlikely, we would stay at the Marina Rio again.
