Hotel Marina Rio

Wonderful break at this lovely hotel. We have stayed here a few times and it never disappoints. Lovely bedrooms with great view of the marina at the front. Everywhere is spotlessly clean.|Tea/coffee with kettle in bedrooms also bathrobes and slippers.|All the staff are extremely helpful and the girls cleaning the rooms do a wonderful job.|Breakfast offers a good choice and always looks fresh. The lady in the breakfast room constantly checks and replenishes items|Many thanks to absolutely everyone for a lovely stay.

We stayed at Hotel Marina Rio in September 2025 and absolutely loved it. The location is perfect — right by the marina and just a short walk to the old town, restaurants, and beaches. Our room was spotless, comfortable, and well designed, with a great view of the marina. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful, and the rooftop pool was a peaceful spot to unwind after sightseeing. Breakfast was tasty and fresh, though a little more variety would make it perfect. Overall, this hotel offers great value, superb service, and a relaxing atmosphere. We’d definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone visiting Lagos.

Perfect hotel. Location central - few minutes walk to the centre. Lots of restaurants within vicinity. Viva restaurant almost next door is definitely worth a visit. Beach about a ten minute slow walk from hotel. Marina directly opposite hotel. Staff at this hotel are amazing. Friendly and helpful. The hotel is spotless - have been at many 5 star establishments and would say that the cleaning beats all of those I have stayed in. Rooms are well equipped and modern. Balcony lovely for a morning coffee or if an early riser - you can watch the sunrise. Have been to Lagos before and stayed at another hotel which was good but if returning would not hesitate in booking here again. Whoever owns this hotel is extremely lucky to have such a dedicated team.

Great hotel - small boutique hotel. Very comfortable. Rooms are large. Very, very clean. Tasty, full breakfast. The staff are friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Thank you to the front desk staff for answering all our questions.

Hotel Marina Rio was amazing! It was very easy to get everywhere in Lagos. It's close to all the activities (10 minute walk to the center), but not in the noisy areas. It's easy to get to the Marina (2 minute walk) to go on any boat tours. There is also a nice pool on the roof that was great to cool off. The room and bathroom were large and nice. ||Rita was great! She answered all of our (many) questions with a smile and a laugh. She had great insight into the area, beaches, and all the restaurants. She really made us feel at home during our stay.

Excellent hotel only a few minutes walking to the old town and marina. Just out of the way enough to be quite and calm. The front desk staff were very helpful and breakfast was nice. Overall, I would 100% stay here again if we came back.

By the marina and an easy walk to old town. It's a 30min walk to the hiking trail as well. The Lagos bus station is right behind the hotel as well. Very clean, newly renovated and a good breakfast.

This is a perfectly adequate hotel adjacent to the Marina (I guess the clue is in the name). The rooms at the front, have a small balcony, over a busy road, facing the Marina and get the sun up to lunchtime. At the back they overlook the main bus station but, on the upside, they get afternoon/evening sun. The rooftop is OK with a very small pool. There is a small bar adjacent to the reception but we never saw anyone use it. The rooms are very clean, fairly basic but you get what you pay for. The hotel next door is double the price with similar sized rooms and an identical view. We didn’t eat breakfast as there are several decent places locally. Not sure it’s a 4 star, but is certainly a very good 3 star and if we returned to Lagos, which is unlikely, we would stay at the Marina Rio again.
