Lovely boutique hotel near the Champs-Elysees. The room was well-appointed and we appreciated the separate water closet from the shower. The hotel is very close to the Franklin D Roosevelt Metro Station but due to mobility restrictions, we opted for using the G7 taxi service for this stay and there were no issues with pick up and drop off at the front of the hotel. No matter what time of the morning we left for the day, the room was cleaned while we were gone. One morning, in between the time it took to go downstairs and walk 2 blocks to the boulangerie and back, the room had already been attended to. The front desk was attentive and fabulous, especially Marie who was there most days of our stay. She even helped to store our luggage the morning before we left. We can't recommend this hotel enough!

We stayed for three nights to watch the final day of the Tour de France. The Hotel Mathis is the perfect location in a quiet street only a few steps from the Champs-Élysées. The room was well furnished and spotlessly clean with super comfortable beds. Staff were all friendly and helpful. The building is a beautifully preserved former apartment block with the original small lift still operating. Plenty of bars and restaurants close by. All in all a great stay and would highly recommend the Mathis.

We had a 3 night stay in Hotel Mathis, which is close to but just enough away from the bustling Champs-Élysées. Our room small but comfortable & quiet; we heard our neighbours once while they were entering their room but that was about it for noise. ||The bed is terrific for a good night’s rest. The shower in a good way had water that ranged from hot to practically scalding. The toilet was in its own separate water closet by the room’s entrance, where the mini fridge and Nespresso coffee maker sat; I really enjoyed the coffee out of that Nespresso. The air conditioning was excellent.||Léon & staff were always there to make sure our stay ran smoothly; Léon recommended some nice restaurants in the area. ||The hotel’s elevator is the smallest I think I’ve ever seen but adds to the charm of the property.||The hotel is very well situated; not only are the Eiffel Tower & Arc de Triomphe accessible but so are many of the famous points in other directions that the city has to offer.||Overall we had a great stay and would recommend.

If I could give 6 stars for service I would. Incredibly polite staff and always happy to help. The room was also great the only thing would be the tv is not smart and quiet old. We had a firestick though so it was fine. Bathroom was amazing and the room was spacious. We loved the location. It is in a very nice area close to all the tourist attractions. Couldn’t be more central.

The room was very clean with comfortable beds and fresh towels. Location was wonderful, as was the staff. They were there to answer any questions and never made us feel burdensome. The only reason I give 4 stars instead of 5 are the paper thin walls. Maybe we had noisy neighbors, but it felt like they were in the room with us. We were woken up at 5-6am each morning to a screaming child, yelling, and general commotion across the hall. It did put a damper on things, but is not quite the hotels fault. With more respectful neighbors I don’t foresee this being an issue for others.

We are a Group of 6 who travel often and don’t make comments often but have to on this occasion.|Victorian lift, takes 2 people sideways only. May be quaint to some, but ridiculous if you are over 80kg.|Facilities in room poor. TV malfunctioning constantly. |Breakfast is a disaster as coffee shop open to public as well, no distinction between hotel guest and public. Poor quality items, asked for 2 eggs, told no eggs. Limited space. Avoid breakfast, plenty of cafes around area.|Chambermaid was terrible, took no notice of notice on door saying do not disturb, went in room on 2 occasions removing personal items from bed whilst we went for breakfast, did the bed then replaced items as if we wouldn’t notice.|Grossly overpriced for what it is. Only acceptable feature was its location.|Found out that direct booking with hotel was just under £95 per day cheaper.|To sum it up, using a phrase from another client who was checking out before us, saying to the reception clerk, that if I ever have to come here again, it’s only to speak to you, otherwise never.| Reception staff were polite, but couldn’t help feeling they’ve heard it all before.

I recommend visiting the hotel cafe. The reception by Mrs. Harriet and Mrs. Daria is wonderful and kind. They provide professional service and are keen to help meet the customer’s desire. The coffee tastes great and the sandwich is delicious.

Extremely HORRIBLE experience. There was ZERO transparency regarding minibar charges — nothing was clearly displayed, and no one informed us at any point. When we questioned the charges later, the manager even said, “Why didn’t you ask?” That’s not how hospitality works.||At checkout, no one asked whether we had used anything from the minibar, but after we left, the hotel QUIETLY charged our credit card without any notice or approval. When we returned to dispute it, the manager was NOT HELPFUL AT ALL, just outright REFUSAL to everything we requested. Not even once trying to understand or assist. ||We even brought back the untouched minibar items, but they refused to accept them. With no clear pricing and no communication, this felt deceptive and DISHONEST. Not once did we feel welcomed or respected as guests. We even mentioned that we would be leaving a review online, but they clearly didn’t care and told us to do whatever we wanted — a SHOCKING attitude for a hospitality business.||On top of that, the room was extremely small, poorly ventilated, and uncomfortable. For the price paid, the living environment was far BELOW expectations. This kind of lack of transparency and low-quality accommodation is unacceptable. I strongly do not recommend this hotel to anyone, especially international travelers who might not expect such HIDDEN TRICKS.

Yelp
I can't believe this is considered a 4 star hotel. I booked it because it looked very nice online and had received great reviews on Booking.com. However, as you can see in my photos, this hotel was not as nice at all as it is presented online. The lobby and the guest rooms were renovated and nice, but the hallway and the elevator were extremely old. The worst part of this hotel was the view from the room I stayed in: ductwork and AC units covered with bird droppings. When I first entered my room, there was water on the floor; rain somehow got into the room and made a huge puddle. Later that day, I noticed that the bathroom faucet was leaking, too. The manager felt bad about these water incidents and threw in free breakfast. I appreciate his kindness, but it was the saddest hotel breakfast I've ever seen. Do you think this is a 4 star hotel? Is this worth 190 euro per night? I don't think so. It is conveniently located only one block away from Champs-Elysées, but it's in a bit shady neighborhood. Every time I went outside, the hotel manger told me to watch out for pickpockets. I would never stay here again, and I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. ****************************** If you found something useful in my review, please hit "useful."
