Hotel Maxim

I would like to thank the receptionist at the Maxim hotel for her competence, cordiality, smile and nice customer service. She is the only One Person who performs her role brilliantly. In turn, the head of the restaurant at the Maxim Hotel should be dismissed. she hid the cocoa for the children during breakfast, and she did not add the yogurts for children, when we asked for, claiming that they finished. The service at Hotel Maxim is unprofessional and should be better prepared to receive guests. Guests (especially families with children) feel like intruders. We will definitely not come back and we warn against this place.

This hotel is superb. We had an issue with the room and the manageress resolved the situation for us within 2 hours. The location is outstanding, the food is superb, snd the island is a wonderful place. We really recommend this hotel and the island.

😊: The position of hotel is close to the beach.. 😢: The room was really dirty, with hair from other visitors everywhere, the table from balcony saw water and soap only in pictures, the shower was terrible and we did not have the courage to take a bath, the bed was not clean, the furniture really old, the toilet not clean enough. We stayed 2 days and after the first one they threw the trash from balcony on the floor. The food was from several days ago most likely and I would not recommend anyone to go there unless you want to spend a day on the bathroom, which is also not a really nice place to be in..

We had an excellent time. Hotel was comfortable with clean, air conditioned rooms. The grounds are in a pine forest typical for Croatian islands here. The reception was helpful and efficient with requests and billing. And the on-site restaurant featured free buffet breakfast as well as inexpensive buffet dinner which was delicious and saved us a lot of time of finding food. ||Besides the hotel, we loved exploring the amazing nature of Dugi Otok and wish we could stay many more weeks here! Thank you very much to our hosts and we hope we can be back soon!

Surrounded by beautiful pine forest, this newly renovated building (part of the hotel complex with Lavanda restaurant) offered us spacious AC room with huge terrace (we were in the ground floor) with table, chairs and deck chairs. Unfortunatelly and totally unnecessary, it offered a completely broken old beach umbrella (why did not they remove it is beyond my comprehension). Bathroom also nicely re-decorated, clean, plenty of toilet paper and soap. One tiny ugly detail was the hook on the door and the worn out door handle. They must have not replaced it when re-decorating, shame. Bed was comfortable, nice flat TV (awkwardly positioned, though...), new furniture with plenty of space for clothes. ||Personnel was nice and friendly, especially the cleaning ladies. They did use some kind of awkward smelling substance to wash the floor (they should change it immediately!).||The restaurant food was average, a bit on the lower side of average. At breakfast, there was no vegetables or fruit (except for the fruit salad), although there was plenty of vegetables at salad bar at dinner - why not serve some of it for breakfast as well? At dinner, instead of letting us take the food ourselves, two waitresses were putting it on the plates - I don't like this at all. There was not written in any language what was being served, which made it difficult for foreigners to communicate except to point. Beer, wine and soft drinks were included.||Everything considered, it has a lot of potential, with better management. For now, it is a good value for money and I would recommend it even as it is now. Dugi otok is really nice - unspoiled nature with beautiful, not crowded beaches.

View from the hotel is beautiful, you can see all the boats coming to marine and the sea as well as distant islands. Sea is very clean so it is excellent for diving. Bozava is small place so if you are looking for peace and relaxation, this is place for you. There are only 3-4 restaurants nearby. Hotel is clean and staff is polite, just the dinner is not adequate for 4 star rated hotel - variety of the food and type (although it was well prepared).

We wanted a good hotel for our vacation and we almost got all we want. Equipment and rooms in general are not a 4* hotel level. It is a solid 3* hotel. If you like peace and quiet then this is place for you. Rooms are clean. Reception staff not on high level. Restaurant staff great and we met a chef. Breakfast is boaring and basic. Dinner was opposite - very rich, diverse and surprising. Place Božava is extra small village so not much to see. Recomend to have a car and explore island as it is a gem.

Perfectly located - peaceful place in pine wood, directly at the sea, nice beaches nearby, nature is great and even a nice pool is available. Staff is also very polite and helpful, really appreciated. However, cleanness is not up to the level (smells in the bathroom). Restaurant staff is great and their service is good, but the selection and quality of the food should be much better for this price. Also, the WiFi is not working properly (not enough capacity). Therefore, the overall impression is only average, which is pitty because the place has really great potential.
