Disappointing Experience – Poor Service & Inconvenient Checkout I recently stayed at Hotel Maya KL and had a very unpleasant experience during checkout. Firstly, the phones were not connecting to the reception, which made it difficult to communicate. When I finally managed to speak to someone at the front desk in person, I requested assistance with my luggage — but after waiting 20 minutes, no one showed up. To make matters worse, only one lift was functioning, causing long delays. It took me 25 minutes just to get down with my luggage, and I had a cab waiting the entire time. Despite being a known property, the lack of responsiveness and poor coordination were unacceptable. Definitely not the level of service you expect from a hotel of this standard. I hope the management takes guest concerns more seriously in the future.

Decent hotel except for sound-proofing which is critically lacking. This is on one of the busiest streets in KL but the windows are only single pane so you hear literally everything. I had to turn the aircon fan on its highest speed to have any chance of sleeping and even then it was a struggle. It’s unfortunate because the rest of the hotel is nice: good breakfast, rooms are comfortable, staff is friendly, and great location. If you can’t sleep properly none of that really matters though.

So difficult to score this hotel. The plus points: - The staff are courteous and efficient. - The hotel is ideally located, very central - Room sizes are good and rooms are attractively laid out with all amenities you could ask for (we had a premier room i cant comment on other rooms) - Has a decent gym and pool - breakfast was good The moderate not so good: - Hotel seems to be under renovation and shared spaces such as corridors are in need of some love - Toilets are difficult to use (flush didnt seem to work properly in both rooms I used - cant cope with toilet paper?) - Tv picture quality very poor in both rooms we used (i guess this is minor complaint really) The reason I can't give this hotel a 4 out of 5 (that it would otherwise probably deserve)...the noise. The hotel is situated in the middle of 2 main roads. The traffic noise at night is difficult to describe, very intense until very late at night and doesn't ever fully stop. The hotel is in desperate need of double glazing , this is a major capital investment but it needs it. We got moved to the other side of the hotel after complaining (the hotel were very accomodating) but the noise from the nightclub on this other side kept us awake. Not even earplugs and pillow over the head really helped. If you are a heavy sleeper and like being in the centre of things, I'd recommend the hotel. If you are in any way a light sleeper, you should probably avoid.

The service was not that great. Reception staff, except for one, don't smile. Very government like. Even government has improved. Had breakfast. Not enough variety. The room lacks storing space, etc. places to store your luggage, used clothes, etc. Television channels were to few, poorly tuned, no news channels, some of the lights were not functioning. Didn't take any photos, sorry.

We arrived back to the hotel, We got stuck in the elevator for a couple of minutes on the first floor, I asked the receptionist about it, They seemed unconcerned like it was normal. I then arrived at my room at 23.30 to find a clogged toilet and shower. A maintenance worker comes up and insisted that the toilets flushing was "normal". So I asked, "How many times do I have to flush till my excrement goes away?" He just kept repeating to me this is "normal". He even mentioned the technique to flush which funnily enough was exactly how I flushed in the first place. When I pressed again, he told me to "keep flushing until it goes away." 😂 At least they moved our room, but wait for the kicker, it was on the 13th floor, where it's quite literally next to a nightclub in the building itself. Noise apparently goes till 2am. How absurd is that? Ladies and gentlemen, this is how not to run a hotel.

Our stay was incredibly disappointing. Breakfast was a letdown with cold food, a very limited selection, and a dining area that was dimly lit and clearly overdue for a Our stay was incredibly disappointing. Breakfast was a tired and neglected. Lifts were frequently out of order, and the door Scanners were unreliable, making it frustrating to access rooms The gym is outdated and barely functional, and the swimming pool is in poor condition with tiles lifting throughout a serious safety concern. This hotel is in desperate need of renovation. It's nowhere near the standard you'd expect from a 5-star rating.

Pros :-1. Check in and check out very easy and fast. 2. Location is great, walking distance (5min) to KLCC.3. The people there are very nice and friendly. 4. The breakfast are great, lots of variety.Cons:-1. The TV didnt work properly because None of the channel is working.2. The aircond not cold enough and somewhere around 5am-6am, the electric trip, This is not good. Cause is trouble to get the maintainance people to come fix it. But the do come very fast. 3. The swimming pool is small, no children pool for younger children. The hydrotherapy function need to turn on every 15min and the WATER is very very COLD. We can't even stay for 30min. It will be great if the pool water is warm. Indoor pool with open air where the wind blow in make the water very cold and hard to enjoy the water play.4. It will be great it there is cafe at the pool area, so that we can order food and drink.

There was someone trying to enter our room at midnight, around 1am. Management explained that the maintenance staff entered the wrong room. However, we believe this is still not acceptable. What if we didn’t put on the safety lock? We can’t imagine how terrifying it would have been. We had to quickly put on our clothes and open the door, but by then the person was already gone. We do not know what his true intentions were. And if the reason given is "wrongly entered the room" while doing his night shift, I would really need the Maintenance Manager to explain what is the protocol, and how they can make sure other customers will not experience the same situation. I do not wish to make this issue go viral or file a police report, but I do expect a proper explanation and action.

Yelp
One of the best hotels in the area. I first stayed at the hotel a few years back because my friends and I were wanting to club at the infamous club opposite the hotel. We checked in at mid day and were promptly escorted to our suite. The check-in was smooth and quick, the staff at the front counter were very courteous and helpful. The room itself had a beautiful view of KLCC. It was clean and spacious, well equipped with a bathtub and extra pillows, always a plus point. The amenities were also not too bad. The swimming pool was big and clean, would not expect any less. The gym was also well-equipped, although some of the equipment were showing abit of wear and tear, nothing too serious. The breakfast was good, they had a huge spread of local and western delights. The hightlight was the omelette station, where the cooked our customised omelette to order. Definitely would visit again soon
