This is a very comfortable and perfectly located hotel above the town. We were cycle touring and the owner was extremely hospitable and friendly. The breakfast was perfect and the bedroom well appointed. We will be back some day on our next visit to this area. Thank you.

This place is definitely worth 5 stars! The hotel itself is a beautiful example of the local architecture, our room was very clean and comfy. Since the hotel is on a hill, the view was spectacular from almost any angle. The host deserves a lot of praise too - what a smart, friendly and welcoming person (he speaks Spanish, English and German by the way). He made our stay very pleasant and was very thoughtful. I loved the breakfast too! Thank you very much, Joaquin :)

Fantastic one night stay. Wish it had been more. Fantastic breakfast on the terrace with panoramic views of the town, sea and mountains. Joaquin is an excellent host.

There is so much to say about our stay at the Hotel Mayari. From the minute we arrived we knew we were going to love it. The views are wonderful... sea in one direction, mountains in the other. The gardens are enchanting, and there were loads of little places where we could sit quietly, enjoy the scenery and have a drink. Our host, Joaquin, was amazingly friendly and helpful and he speaks at least 3 languages so it was great to practice our Spanish but also to be understood if we didn't know a particular word. The hotel was clean and bright and well maintained. Our bedroom was lovely and sunny and the bed was huge! We were about 10 mins walk from the beach and Joaquin gave us a map and showed us places of interest nearby. A really memorable relaxing break... we will be back!

The hotel has its own extensive car park. Set on stunning grounds, with view of the bay. Personable hotelier. It did feel like a boutique hotel, or staying with a family member, despite the 1 start classification by Murcia board. Tastefully styled rooms. Very clean. Breakfast was timely, well presented and sophisticated. Fantastic setting. We thought it was well presented and fresh, substancial. Despite only few rooms, you are spoiled by the grounds, gardens and terraces. Personal touches and tranquility of the hotel. The owner is really charming and welcoming. Fascinating historical memorabilia on display including maps and books. Only 15 minutes walk down to the beach and to the local restaurants. Also by the foothill walks. Highly recommended.

There was not one single thing that we didn't like. Excellent. I hardly ever rate anything as ten out of ten because there is always something that could be better. In this case however I'm struggling to justify saying anything at all negative. ||The owner, Joaquín, makes this place special, not only because he is one of the nicest, most friendly and courteous people you could ever hope to meet but because he is so obviously passionate and committed to his hotel which has been a personal project long in development, he told us. We only stayed one night en route to visit my aunt further along the coast but I really wished our schedules had permitted a longer stay. There is an air of quiet of serenity in the whole feel of the place and although small, everything is done with perfect attention to detail, including the outside space, which is simplistically but artistically arranged. We had the most delightful stay with one of the best breakfasts of our three-week trip around Spain and I would absolutely choose this hotel again without any hesitation. In other respects the hotel has lovely views and is conveniently placed at 15 minutes’ walk from the beach where there is a good fish restaurant. In the other direction it is only a short drive to the Cabo Cope and Calnegre protected natural park area for walking, nature and unspoilt (ie, not touristy) beaches. Totally wonderful.
