For 2 star the room was spacious and very clean and tidy with a small balcony too Staff including our chambermaid and all restaurant and reception staff were so welcoming and polite and made our stay so comfortable, I believe we were possibly the only English staying at the time and it made no difference we felt just as welcomed as everyone else !! Loved the property also the location is perfect !!! Restaurant salad is perfectly fresh , ideally could do with providing more carbs in the evening ie potatoes, fries or pasta daily|Disliked · It’s not I didn’t like , but being British and although a 2 star I did expect baked beans at breakfast, and one morning went out for breakfast as we both missed then that much. The evening soup is so watered down ,you can see through it ideally would of preferably wanted it even slightly thicker

A basic hotel located in the old town not far from the beach with bars and shops close to hand

We stayed at Hotel Mayna on a room only basis. The hotel was a little dated and in need of some modernisation. The rooms were spacious, clean and equipped with the basics. Safes were available at a €2 daily cost with a €10 refundable deposit. There was no shampoo, body wash or internet in the room. Some rooms had large terraces and outside dining sets with higher rooms having seaviews. Drinks and food were available at the hotels restaurant.||The location of the hotel was fantastic being just a short stroll from the shops, restaurants, supermarkets and beach. In our opinion the rooms could benefit from having free WiFi, a fridge and a hair dryer. Hair dryers were available at reception. During our stay we encountered two members of reception staff and both spoke excellent English and were helpful when enquiring about the market and the local buses. Rooms were cleaned every day, but it was possible to reduce the frequency at reception. We would definitely stay here again, because the hotel was fantastic value for money and central to amenities

Don’t bother. Rude staff (if you’re English), no tv channels, WiFi doesn’t reach the room, balcony is tiny, you get 1 small pillow, the air conditioning only comes on twice a day for an hour each time, things were stolen from our room (money). We were made to feel very uncomfortable during our stay by all of the hotel staff. I can’t believe love holidays actually advertise this sh*thole. ||||DONT BOTHER

We have stayed in Hotel Mayna several times on a room only basis and each visit has been comfortable. The hotel was basic, but the rooms were clean and spacious with limited facilities. There was no fridge, tea or coffee making facilities, toiletries or WiFi. Despite this the rooms had air conditioning and a small terrace with a partial seaview (some have city views). Hairdryers were available at reception and it was possible to hire a safe for 2€ a day with a 10€ refundable deposit. There was also an onsite restaurant and 24 hour reception, where the staff were approachable and spoke English. The location of the hotel was fantastic being on the cusp of the Old Town. The hotel was just minutes to the shops, plazas with great bars, Tapas Alley, restaurants, supermarkets and Poniente beach. Other attractions of the Old Town include Parque de L'Alguiera (bull ring and amphitheaters), the Dove Park, the night market, the L`Hort de Colon Museum at Carrer de Tomàs Ortuño, 16, 03501, Poniente Beach, the Balco del Mediterrani and the Marina with the Maritime Cultural Centre, boat trips and Cala Del Mal Pas Beach. During our stay the hotel served as a great base to explore Benidorm and the neighbouring villages of Finestrat, Guadalest, Altea, Albir, Calpe, Alfas, Polop, Villajoyosa and La Nucia. Within Benidorm we explored both the old and new towns. The New Town had so much to offer including The Benidorm Palace Theatre, a cinema, bingo hall, lots of shops, hotels, restaurants and bars with tribute bands and karaoke, cable skiing, a children's fairground, a Wednesday and Sunday market located on waste ground near the Servigroup Pueblo Hotel at C. Ibiza, 17, 03503, a bowling alley and arcades, Levante Beach and The Cross. Other attractions in and around Benidorm included the Algar Waterfalls, hiking at the Sleeping Lion (Mont Ponoch) in Polop, the La Marina Shopping Centre, Mundomar (waterpark with dolphins, sea lions, tortoises, flamingos, parrots and so on), the chocolate museum in Villajoyosa, the Magic Robin Hood medieval dinner show / waterpark, museums and lake in Guadalest, Terra & Aqua Natura, El Cisne Flea Market at Altea and Terra Mitica. There was also a sightseeing bus / train and it was possible to book experience days such as quad biking, Segway tours or the Costa Blanca Downhill Bike Ride. We would definitely stay here again, because the hotel was fantastic value for money and central to all amenities

The room was clean and the staff was friendly, except the incredibly rude waiter in the dining room, he bullied the elderly people and ran into people all the time. The lady in the dining room was very friendly and helpful on the other hand... The first night we were able to sleep but the next few nights were impossible because of the drunken guests coming in at all hours. Not that the hotel could help that... The location is great and the price as well. I would not stay here again however, mainly because the food was not very good and the rude waiter several times a day just wasn't worth it. We paid for breakfast and dinner and the last nights didn't eat there. Having someone so rude to end the day just didn't seem like a good time for us.
