The 21 Best Hotels in New Orleans

"The French Quarter does historic aesthetics well, but some more modern buildings also stand out in an appealing way, including Hotel Mazarin, which has a Mediterranean feel that complements the centuries-old Spanish architecture around it. The location, just one all-important block back from Bourbon Street, is as central as it gets, and so it’s perfect for exploring dining and nightlife as well as all the major downtown New Orleans attractions. It feels like a European-style oasis right in the thick of it." - Paul Oswell

Hotel Mazarin

"What were your first impressions? The French Quarter does historic aesthetics well, but some more modern buildings still stand out in a good way, including Hotel Mazarin, with a Mediterranean feel that complements the centuries-old Spanish architecture around it. The mustard-yellow and blue facade is unashamedly European, as is the foliage-infused courtyard with a fountain. What's the backstory? The hotel is named for a 17th-century diplomat. Though independent, it's a member of the J Collection, a portfolio of New Orleans hotels, each with a distinct character. How are the rooms? The interior design is striking, with black marble and granite floors and fixtures. There’s a stark regality about them, but they come laden with comforts and compact balconies—perfect for a comfy break from sightseeing. Is there a charge for Wi-Fi? Wi-Fi is free and fast. What about food and drinks? There's only breakfast here, but thankfully it’s one of the best buffets in town, with a huge range of fresh fruits, pastries, and cooked dishes. Lingering over your morning meal in the sunny courtyard is a real treat. The hotel also has a Prohibition-themed bar—the aptly named 21st Amendment—which celebrates the city’s cocktail history. And the service? Service was perky and efficient. The lobby staff took time to chat as they helped with bags. Who's here? Guests are a real cross-section, but mostly mature couples in town for vacation—ones more concerned with good value than anything overtly trendy. What about the neighborhood? The location, only a single all-important block back from Bourbon Street, is as central as it gets. It’s perfect for exploring dining and nightlife as well as all the major downtown attractions. The hotel effortlessly bridges the gap between historic and modern New Orleans. Anything else worth noting? The hotel is fortuitously attached to one of the city’s best wine bars. Patrick’s Bar Vin has a wonderful cellar and has charcuterie and cheese plates to accompany whatever bottle takes your fancy. Bottom line. This is one of the best-value hotels in downtown New Orleans." - Paul Oswell

Google
Quaint hotel right in the heart of things. If you're looking for that feeling from luxurious towels, bedding, mattress and pillows its not here. However, the rooms are very nicely decorated. The front desk staff were great and the valet was super nice. Housekeeping never came to our room which was disappointing. Great location to anywhere in the French Quarter.

Google
Great location, pleasant and welcoming staff! Rooms are spacious and comfortable! Walking distance to Bourbon street, great food , live music and bars! Very humid here, rains on and off, bring a portable fan when you go out! The rooms are clean lots of space to place your belongings.

Google
Manager was not helpful. I’m writing this as I sit on the patio….if you want to party then this place is perfect! Right off of Bourbon Street!! Buuut it goes all night….we cannot sleep due to the noise and bass and trust me we drank all day…which means we want to sleep. Read the reviews carefully. Not a bad place but if you want rest you’re not going to get it. Now we have a 10 hour drive back tomorrow with very little sleep.

Google
Hotel Mazarin outshined in accommodations and hospitality. The location was as warm and inviting as the staff who welcomed us upon arrival and throughout our stay. Stacey, Will and Debbie Ann are the definition of NOLA friendliness. The clean and well maintained hotel is conveniently located, steps away from the Bourbon Street experience and easy walking distance from several shops, restaurants, New Orleans historical points of interest and a diverse selection of entertainment. Lastly, the food at Hotel Mazarin, specifically the breakfast menu, was one of the better meals I enjoyed during our trip. For being a small brand company, they excel in personalized hotel service. Hotel Mazarin is the place to stay when visiting The Big Easy!

Google
Hotel Mazerine is a Central location to everything. If there is a concern, please wait and see Will at the front desk. He is calm, professional and decisive. He works the 3pm to 11 pm shift. If facing the hotel Bourbon Street will be to the right and Royal Street will be to the left and both are 3 minutes from the front door of the hotel. Try to stay on the upper levels in reference to the noise level if that bothers you. The superior rooms appear to be nicer and have more space. The hotel does have breakfast as an option and on the weekends the breakfast is a buffet. The breakfast was more than ample and was tasty served with a variety of juices and coffee. The staff inside the restaurant was very friendly and accommodating. The hotel features two bars. One of the bars can be accessed from the second floor of the hotel. Both of the bars give the appearance of a Speakeasy with very personable and friendly staff. In closing of the review I would again like to pinpoint the location of the hotel. It is very accessible to the French Quarter. The best employees at this hotel would be Will again at the front desk, Brian at the 21st Amendment ,Bar and Rex, the General Manager. Thanks for professionalism and all you do in a very busy area.

Google
Great hotel & great location. The staff was amazing. William was very gracious. Big shout out to Stacy. She made everything easy & took such great care of us. Had great suggestions & directions so we weren't walking around in circles. Would definitely stay here again & we will be back.

Google
This hotel is truly a gem. William is the personification of hospitality and professionalism. He's gone out of his way to make every visit smooth and seemless. Joe, the valet, is also incredibly professional and has a contagiously positive demeanor.. Wifi can be problematic, but other than that, I've tried other hotels in the area, and so far, none compare to the Hotel Mazarin.

Google
This place was perfect for a long weekend to the French Quarter. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The bed and shower were some of The best we have had in a hotel room in a long time and it is centrally located to pretty much everything you would want to see or do. We are already planning a trip back soon and we will be staying here again when we do for sure. Thank you all for a great vacation.

Yelp
Loved this cute hotel. The staff was super friendly, the rooms are elegant and clean. Everything is walking distance

Yelp
Our room was great! Cozy and everything worked. Giving 4 stars because some of my party had issues losing power in their rooms and literally had a dark bathroom for 24 hours before it got fixed. Also, I got major shin splints one night and was clearly limping. I asked staff if there was an ice maker on my floor only to find out it was broken. You think maintenance would have instructed them about this. To end on a positive note, they did a great job controlling the noisy guests arriving. I'm sure it's not easy to do when the hotel is a block away from Bourbon St! Minor mishaps, but great stay overall and will definitely come back!

Yelp
Stayed for 2 nights, 3 days and it was not enjoyable. The rooms were extremely humid and the bathroom fan did not work in either room we stayed in. The first room filled with fog from the bathroom for hours and there was mold traveling up the walls. The windows do not open, and they do not have fans onsite, so we had to prop the door open. The room itself was also filthy, we had something drop under the bed and when I went to pick it up, I almost gagged. The baseboards were covered in grime and mold, and the bed frame between the mattress had seen years of bacteria without cleaning. They were kind enough to move us to another room at no cost, but again that room's bathroom fan did not work and there was little to no ventilation. With that being said, the granite/quartz floors were slippery with condensation causing one of my guests to fall. There was no microwave, the fridge buzzed loudly, and most of the furniture was run down and broken. Overall, the location was great with walking distance to everything, 11 minutes from the Aquarium, 1 minute to the Mardi Gras celebrations and restaurants, but the actual quality of the rooms was lackluster and not worth the price. The view, location, and kind staff, were the only reasons I put 2 stars.

Yelp
William at the front desk was absolutely horrible and disrespectful. We had a reservation and were there to check in and he turned away my young daughter who was alone in an unfamiliar city. He said they were fully booked even though we had a confirmation number. Also, guests still had not arrived and rooms were vacant but he would not accommodate her. I asked to speak to a manager and he wouldn't he get one or call one. Don't stay here!!!

Yelp
Decent place to stay, especially if you aren't planning on staying in the hotel for most of the time. Not bad for the price, could've been better. Best part was the location. Pros: great location next to bourbon st, fairly clean (could've been better), friendly staff, vintage vibe, nice bed, loved the water pressure in the shower! Cons: Room was a little warm/ humid but not unbearable (couldn't turn temp past 60° but felt warmer), wifi didn't work, our key cards stopped working 15 minutes before check out but we sorted that out easily. Also, thin walls so we could occasionally hear the neighbors and bar across from the courtyard.

Yelp
Amazing customer service, very professional and kind. In a great location. Comfy beds, marble showers, clean and fresh linens. Go on the weekends, and get the brunch service; its fantastic, and one of the best breakfasts I've had in New Orleans. Wonderful experience

Yelp
My review but it is based on memory of a magnificent time. My trip was back in 2015 (almost 20 years ago) and I can't believe I didn't Yelp about it then. The stay was for a friend celebrating his 50th there and the entire trip was eventful but the hotel sat was so memorable, I wanted to rave about it 10 years later, especially as a friend who recently stayed thanked ne for recommending. The breakfast and weekend brunch buffet was a nice affordable bonus. So good I remember they had some of the best grits I ever had. Buttery & savory. Stay here. It's in the middle of the French Quarter action but far enough away that the boozers won't be leaving their calling card along the walk trails.

Yelp
Great staff. Cute little place. Quiet room. The first room we were in, the AC didn't work. So they moved us. The second room- the toilet had no parts in the upper tank- and the water was turned off. Then we were moved to a third room. Room was much smaller. Fan in bathroom didn't work- which was okay and livable- but still not ideal. The shower doesn't close and water sprays all over the floor and even out of the bathroom. Someone else with us had a room with a musty smell. Overall- for the price- it was a decent value. It's super close to bourbon street- great location without being too noisy. Close and central to everything. Just needs some maintenance and it would be perfect.

Yelp
Rooms are great and comfy! Check in was smooth and the service from multiple shifts were great!

Yelp
Great location! Parking across the street. Staff was awesome! Hotel needs some upgrades for that 5th star

Yelp
Here on Halloween and this joint is nice. Room is spacious and shower is nice n hot. A wine bar and another with live music daily is on the property.

Brogan V.

Yelp
Good hotel downtown. Hidden fees that you were not told about until checkout. 88$ per night ended up being 175$ per night. There are better options out there that you can find with one straight up price. Would be aware of the bullshit.
google avatar

Tanni D.

Yelp
This is absolutely not a luxurious boutique hotel. Room was filthy, sink was gross, the water would not drain from the toilet, and the lighting was so dim that we couldn't even tell whether the room or towels were clean. I reported to the office twice about the clogged bathroom tub. The only good thing about this place is the location and the fact that you get free water bottles from the lobby.

Yelp
I really wanted to love my stay at Hotel Mazarin. The location is superb. Check-in was a breeze. Sonja was lovely. That's where it ended for me. My first room was #519. It was warm when I checked in. I knew it was hot AF in NOLA & thought maybe it would cool down. It didn't. I went downstairs about 10:00 pm and Sonja quickly moved me to another room, #515. It was my fault for waiting so long, but after laying there sweating I knew I couldn't sleep in the room. I get to #515 & it was only slightly cooler. I 'slept' on top of the covers all night and quickly got up and left this morning to head to work early, just to get out of there. I can definitely say that I won't be back.

Yelp
Friendly staff and great location!! Our first time here at this hotel and Sonja at the front desk, made us feel welcomed and gave us some wonderful recommendations on places to eat and listen to Jazz . There is also 24 hrs security at the lobby too, and Crystal was on watch the evening we arrived. She was gracious to show us to the bar where they provided us a complimentary drink at this hotel. Thank you Crystal. Our room was above the courtyard and was spacious and clean. We had towels and bed service each day during our stay. We couldn't be happier with this hotel. Sonja even shared with us some homemade pralines she had one evening too. Everything is very close by and easy to navigate to. We certainly would return here to this hotel on future visits, because it faces away from the noise , but steps from Bourbon Street. Thank you , thank you for making our 5 day stay here so much fun!!!

Yelp
The reservation department is a huge joke. Botched reservation, so I was stuck with an undesirable room. The moldy smell was overwhelming, only to be told that it's natural there. Horrible customer service.. don't dare ask a question! Deceptive advertising.. drinks provided in the lobby.. have a bottle of water! The best part of the place is the maid staff. Very nice folks. Will definitely not be back!

Yelp
Great Hotel getaway in the French Quarter! Old historic hotel with simple charm! Front end staff and bar staff suck! In between staff is great, clean rooms and great brunch server! Location is great for walking to many great destinations.

Yelp
A many time repeat guest. Love its location. One minute walk to Bourbon BUT amazingly quiet. Totally immaculate. Love spending time in the courtyard with gorgeous greenery, awesome fountain, superb clean bathroom and great wrought iron tables and chairs. Our room #409 was amazing. Large, great bed, plenty of draw space and a bathroom to die for. The best service we've ever had. Total luxury for a bargain price.

Charles M.

Yelp
I've been trying to reach the front desk at the Hotel Mazarin in NOLA for several hours about my reservation (not the South Africa reservation number), but my call is being dropped each time. If the front desk is this bad, I can't imagine how bad the service in the hotel is!
google avatar

Jalen B.

Yelp
The room and area was nice, there was just a rat that was on top of the ice machine and then it fell into the part where the ice can land

Yelp
The ambiance of the hotel with the beautiful courtyard was 10/10. Front desk staff were fantastic. But everything faded away when we got to our room. We were located on backside of hotel. Front desk told us that she just loved our room and the location. So we were excited to get there after a long day of travel. We opened the door and just started to laugh. It was thee smallest room I have ever seen. Nowhere to really put our luggage except behind the door and in front of the closet. We had to move the luggage to the bed when we went into the closet. There were no plugs in the bathroom, so I had to do my hair without a mirror close by. It stretched from the side of the bed and I stood several feet outside the bathroom door to even get a glimpse to the mirror in the bathroom. We had a king bed in there. Maybe two-3 feet on each side of the bed for any kind of legroom. We were disappointed. All it was was a place to crash for the night, but we wanted a bit more after seeing the reviews. Location was great to Oceana restaurant for dinner. ( highly recommend)

Yelp
clean, comfortable, very personable and attentive staff. The shower was HUGE. Breakfast at the courtyard cafe was delicious and very well presented.

Yelp
Throughly enjoyed my stay! Did a small staycation at Hotel Mazarin this past week and loved it. Representatives behind the desk were very helpful + kind. The rooms were nice-- I know the building is older so when I first opened the room door, it smelled kind of old, or as if the room had been closed up for a while but not overbearing. I loved the black marble in the shower, the chandelier, and how spacious the room is. I was on the second floor which overlooks the courtyard. There are a few conventions in town so the hotel was full of tourists which all gathered in the courtyard so it was a bit loud at nights + early mornings. There is a bar right next to the hotel which is nice to visit if it isn't closed due to private events. Hotel is located right in the Quarter one block away from Bourbon three away from Canal. I would recommend!
google avatar

Marje B.

Yelp
We loved this hotel. Location is perfect. Right in the centre but quiet enough you'll get some rest at night. It was so quiet we forgot we were just a block away from Bourbon St. Its clean, the rooms were clean, the room was a little small we did request an upgrade months ago but they did not allow if, even if we were wanting to pay more. I booked through Expedia. The staff were all very helpful especially William. We stayed for four nights on the second floor. The garden courtyard is just so lovely. The hotel has a couple of bars. If I come back to Nola, I would stay here again.

Yelp
This trip to New Orleans was a 'girls trip' for friends who have never visited the City! Prior to arrival I called (Spoke w/Tyler) who was very friendly and helpful to secure a courtyard facing room and I wanted to set-up a few things for my friend's birthday (was disappointed that this didn't happen upon arrival as requested..but Tyler corrected the matter the next day)! Otherwise, check-in went smoothly! The room was clean and spacious! The location is 20 steps from Bourbon Street and this was great because my friends wanted to be central to the action and believe me...we were right there..but having a courtyard room isolated is from all the noise of 'Bourbon Street'! The hotel had a connecting restaurant that wasn't operating due to (COVID), but no worries..plenty are open all around the French Quarter and other neighborhoods (Please leave the quarter..so much more to see & do elsewhere in New Orleans)! There were a few bumps with the stay here (ranging from staff who were not as friendly and accommodating as they should be; a water bug was discovered in the bathroom and this caused discomfort to us the remainder of the night). I was told I would receive a credit to my bill for the incidents that occurred during our stay (still waiting)? Overall, I loved the location of the hotel..centrally located to many places; I was pleased with the room placement (very little noise except for folks gathered in the courtyard at times) and Tyler (front desk staff) was the MVP of the trip because he made an effort to ensure we were satisfied during our stay!

Yelp
The place was clean and they allowed us to check in early which was nice. We had issues with our hot water when we stayed. I wish they had a coffee bar or something a bit easier to grab. We had a decent size group so it was really cool to have a courtyard to hang out in. The location of this hotel is awesome as you're right near everything. Check out the bar. It's an awesome speakeasy vibe with a great bourbon selection.
google avatar

Yelp
Had a lovely stay here during my birthday week in a premier room. Premiere rooms have balcony views which is great for viewing all the activity outside. Since it was my birthday I was lucky enough to get a room right above Patrick's vin bar and could see all the action on bourbon street. The balcony was spacious enough for two to sit comfortably. The rooms had marble floors which kept the room nice and cool. I had to increase the ac a little bit up since it got pretty chilly in the room. The bathrooms are nice and the pressure was just right. The rooms also come with a mini fridge which is just enough for a wine bottle and a couple water bottles though I wish it could hold the liter bottles but they are too big. My only gripe is the alarm clocks were set 10 minutes behind and you can't change the time. As for the staff they were accommodating and friendly. Also if you arrive early most likely the room won't be ready since checkout is at noon but they will keep your bags and you can explore this great city. As for noise it's pretty much a building away from bourbon so get over it. I was able to sleep right through it without any issues.

Yelp
Absolutely amazing stay, perfect location and the staff was sharp 24 hours. The courtyard and dining sealed the deal. The stellar bar immediately connected next door , well, that just took everything to the moon... I give it six thumbs up. Casually luxurious , beautiful horticulture and Mazarin courtyard all over inside (rain or shine, we danced) , DAM good time.... Thank you Mike. Thank you Patrick and all the staff @ Patrick's Bar Vin. New Orleans owes me nothing.

Yelp
Because of our wonderful stay last year, we returned to this gem of a hotel and were even more impressed than before. The hotel is a beautiful building with truly welcoming staff and also has two fantastic bars onsite. And because we've fallen in love with NOLA, we've decided that coming here will be an annual event. Thanks so much to everyone for making our stay so special. See you all next year. You all are the definition of true Southern hospitality.

Yelp
Gosh I have nothing but great things about this hotel. I am so happy we decided to stay here and will definitely recommend this place 100 times over to anyone I know visiting. The staff are the sweetest people I've ever met at a hotel establishment and I've stayed at 5* hotels, the service does not even compare. I came stumbling in extra late and the lady checked me in immediately. She knew we were tired and check in took less than 5 minutes! Everytime we left and came back we were greeted. I love how safe it is because you can't just take the elevator up to the rooms, you need to go through the lobby and must have a hotel key to even use the elevator. The free water was our saving grace! I don't know any hotels that do that. The location is the best!!! Literally walking distance everywhere. Glad we stayed here and just around the corner from everything because at night was nice and quiet. We all caught 5, 6 and 7am flights so we left at 3am and the sweet lady checked me out as I sat on the couch waiting for Uber. The nice security guard gentleman literally walked my friends and I out in the rain to make sure it was the correct Uber and we were safe. Not a single hotel establishment does that!!! I appreciate every single person working there, you guys are doing an amazing job!

Brandye W.

Yelp
My stay was epic. Yes the mildew smell is there. But the building is old. Crank up the AC and it'll go away. Bought some air freshener in case there were times I couldn't ignore it. That was literally the only thing. The location was great. The staff was so kind. Valet parking is through Royal Sonesta so I hope that saves someone from circling the neighborhood. Definitely will definitely stay there again. Air freshener in hand...

Chris B.

Yelp
This is a nice hotel in the heart of the action in the French Quarter. It is noisy on the street, so go in knowing that. The staff were super polite and friendly and always pleasantly greeted folks in the lobby. Great private courtyard for relaxing and having a drink. Rooms were clean and well stocked. If you're going to stay here you will want to have noise cancelling headphones or something to block the street noise if you're on the Bienville side of the building. Other than that I really enjoyed this hotel.
google avatar

Taylor R.

Yelp
We came here for a wedding. The location is perfect- so close to everything! The room was small but nice. The bed was comfortable! Loved the water pressure in the shower! There were a few lovely courtyards to enjoy a drink in. My only downfall was that there was a strong mildew/ mold smell throughout the hallways and rooms. They need to add in ventilation to the showers as well!
google avatar

Denis D.

Yelp
A charming hotel in a great location. We had a room in the back of the building that was insulated from all of the noise of Bourbon Street. The only thing we could hear at night was the soothing sound of the fountain in the hotel courtyard.
google avatar

Kathi L.

Yelp
We enjoyed our stay... the staff was very helpful and informative. Our hotel room was clean and efficient. The courtyard was peaceful and relaxing. The only downfall was the occasional lack of hot water!
google avatar

Briana T.

Yelp
Beautiful hotel right next to Bourbon Street. I was in town for a wedding and I couldn't have been happier. The front desk staff was amazing and offered things to do and places to go in the city. I got a stellar price and the room was even more elegant in person. The breakfast buffet was delicious and well seasoned. My expectations were definitely exceeded.
google avatar

Melanie D.

Yelp
Such a beautiful hotel! It's near Bourbon Street, but you won't really encounter the touristy people around the hotel. The staff was very friendly at check-in. They have cute courtyard that you could hang out in that had tables and chairs. The room was on the smaller side, but that was okay. It would have been nicer to have a bigger room, but the charm of the hotel made me love it. There was a fridge, which was nice to place leftovers. Enjoyed our stay! Would stay here again!

Yelp
Racist front desk concierge Will Nelson. Very disrespectful and condescending. Beware do not recommend this establishment. One of the most rude front desks I've ever spoken to. We basically asked why the bar within the hotel closed down at 10:15pm instead of the stated 12am midnight on the sign and online. He replied with it was probably authorized to close early which is extremely odd since bourbon street majority bar establishments closes way later. He kept asking us what's there not to understand in a condescending and disrespectful racist manner. We just said we don't understand because the sign and online all said midnight. He did not try to help but was extremely confrontational. This type of person should not be representing any hotels.

Yelp
Went on a long weekend trip to New Orleans with a few co-workers and after looking online at different places to stay, I decided on Hotel Mazarin. I couldn't have been happier with my choice. Excellent accommodations, friendly staff, beautiful courtyard and all in walking distance of pretty much everything! I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone headed to the French Quarter!

Yelp
My husband and I returned from four nights at the Hotel Mazarin and we were extremely disappointed. We originally booked into the Hotel le Marais. On the Monday before our Thursday arrival I received a call from Mark Wilson from the J Collection. He stated that there was a mix-up in their reservation system, and he needed to move us to the Hotel Mazarin. He went on to say that the Mazarin was a nicer hotel and was an "upgrade to the Marais." We would be booked into the same level of room and would be provided with two breakfast coupons and two drink coupons for the 21st Amendment Bar for the inconvenience. We never received any of it. If the Mazarin is an upgrade to the Marais then the Marais is a real dump. The rooms smelled HORRIBLY of mildew. Every time we walked into our room we were grossed out by the smell. We traveled with friends that had also been moved to the Mazarin and their room also reeked of mildew. Our room was filthy upon arrival. There wasn't a pool and no concierge (as there is at the Marais). The only saving grace of this hotel is that the people working the front desk could not have been nicer. We will steer clear of ALL J Collection hotels in the future as we were clearly lied to by Mark the Area Director of Sales and Marketing. So bummed.

Truth Seeker 1.

Yelp
Nice location: less than half a block from Bourbon Street, but considerably less frenetic. Pretty building. Clean, quiet room in which everything worked. But anyone remember John Cleese as Basil Fawlty? Most questions seemed to put out the night desk clerk. "Is the staffer lying on the laundry room floor earlier we called 911 for, alright?" "It's been handled. That's all I can say." BTW; yes they'll hold your luggage after checkout, but not necessarily in a secure spot. Ours got a corner of the lobby, like others'. Next time, back to the Sonesta on Bourbon.

Laura G.

Yelp
Beautiful property. Should have been GREAT but was just okay. We stayed at the hotel before and loved it so much we chose to return for a weekend getaway. We were informed the breakfast was no longer included upon check-in and given a printout of meal offerings and cost (about $12/person no matter what you choose to eat). Disappointed as it was supposed to be included but we still planned to enjoy breakfast in the courtyard. The breakfast area never opened during our weekend. There was no complimentary coffee or any coffee at all offered in the lobby. We asked about the patio heaters being lit for the evening and were told that management only allows the heaters when the temperature drops below 32 degrees. No evening beverage on the patio. The room smelled moldy and musty upon entering. The patio was covered with plastic the entire time so it was cold enough to protect the plants. The room refrigerator did not work at all. We reported the problem and were told the second day we would be given a new fridge. Ice chests are not allowed in the hotel so the food we brought to keep cold was not kept cool. We never received a new fridge. The maid service took the dirty towels and washcloths but no new ones were provided. The bed was not very comfortable but also did not have a blanket/quilt and no extra blankets in the room when you get cold. The coffee service in the room was never stocked with cream and sugar. The maids came through but did not restock the coffee service. The parking was $50 per night with taxes which is the same as Chicago during the Chicago marathon weekend. This was not a big event weekend Just the beginning of Mardi Gras Season, yet they had us sign a statement of all the rules for the hotel which is pretty offensive as the rules were basic guest rules but each person in your party must sign them and be listed. The BEST part of our entire stay was that it was limited to just a few days. We love NOLA and enjoy our trips home. We will not recommend the Hotel Mazarin and will not choose to stay there again. With all the wonderful hotels in the French Quarter why settle for a just okay stay.

Yelp
This hotel was great! One thing I would say is that due to the large open courtyard and humidity, the room could feel "moist" at times, like the bed sheets but not in a bad way. This might bother some people, but it didn't bother me. The room was well cooled by the wonderful AC. The customer service here was top notch. Every single person was so polite and professional. I like that they keep water bottles in the lobby. I would stay here again! :)

Yelp
We just returned from a week at this wonderful hotel! Not one single complaint!! Ideal location! Staff at front desk were exceptional! So accommodating! Housekeeping daily!! Welcome coupon for complimentary cocktail at BarVin and half off drinks at 21st Amendment (with nightly live music)! It's very close to Bourbon Street but noise was never a problem. This was our first to to NOLA and highly recommend this hotel!

Yelp
Hotel Mazarin was the cleanest and best stocked place I've ever stayed in New Orleans including hotels and Airbnbs! The courtyards are pristine, the room and bathroom were clean, there were 4 bath towels, 4 face cloths, and 4 hand towels. There's also extra tp, a mini fridge, a safe, and a coffee pot. Their shampoo and conditioner were just as good as my Pantene Pro-V at home. The front desk staff, the cleaning staff we saw, and even the Terminex man treating the green areas were all extremely friendly. And the location is literally in the heart of the French Quarter. Walking distance to anything you want in the French Quarter all the way to anything on the outskirts like Harrah's. And side note, Harrah's has free parking deals for their club members (free to join too) so really, you can unload at The Mazarin, park at Harrah's, and walk everywhere during your trip! Save yourself $40 a night in parking as long as you click the bet button slowly on a penny slot machine with your club card inserted to use up gambling time without risking much at all. And order free drinks ($1+ tip highly recommended per drink) while you chill.

Yelp
Don't let the photos trick you. Outdated & worn. When I called the hotel to book, the price was nearly $100 more than the online booking. I was told that the parking fee was included, so I paid the higher price; however it was not included & I was not pleased with the deceptive ripoff.

Yelp
The hotel is amazing. Beautiful courtyard in center of hotel. One block from bourbon street, yet Completly quiet inside rooms. Staff were helpful in securing our bags until a room was available. secure facility. Hotel was 100% smoke free which is great. enjoy your stay, we were here for three days and enjoyed every moment.

Yelp
Not a bad stay but not the greatest, and with such easy fixes it's almost annoying to outline them. The good: convenient location for anything NOLA, big room, comfy bed. The in need of improvement starts at the front desk when someone told us the day before arrival that we could check in early and upon arrival we're told that wasn't possible. Ok. But to combine that with curt attitude when mentioned is a little frustrating. Also they forgot to restock the toilet paper and the phone didn't work which made calling housekeeping a little difficult. And the hotel bar wasn't open during jazzfest...strange indeed. Anyway your mileage may vary.

Yelp
My stay at the hotel went with out any major incident. However, beware this Hotel charged my Credit Card days after checkout for a second time for the full amount of my stay without my authorization. The Front Desk was rude and refused to do anything about to help me fix their mistake. Now I have to dispute the transaction with my bank and I'm out almost a $1000 without no explanation or consideration from anyone at this Hotel. I will not be returning nor would I recommend this Hotel to anyone coming into New Orleans.
