Hotel Mea Lipari - Aeolian Charme

Beautiful hotel with amazing views of Lipari port & ocean surrounding. Super clean room, comprehensive breakfast with lovely service (big thank you to the head waiter who taught me about espresso sizes and how to order a long black coffee😁), in general excellent service all around (nothing too much for the reception folk), pool is clean & beautifully situated with ocean views, and massage service is a good price & the most relaxing massage I’ve had! The only drawback is the transport to & from the port which is only 200m (uphill for arrival) - hotel charges €15-20 for 1 person and taxi charges £20 for 2 people. You can easily walk down to the port with your bags but it would be nice if the hotel offered complementary pickup given it’s a quality hotel.

Lovely boutique hotel in a great location near the port. Easy access to the shops and all amenities, exceptionally clean and a fantastic restaurant! Rooms are a very good size with plenty of storage space. Staff are lovely and views breathtaking. I would definitely recommend to anyone who wants to stay on the island.

The view from our room was outstanding. Lovely sunrise on our last day.||Lots of restaurant noise audible in our room at night after service ended.||Breakfast was nothing special. Dinner was better. Wait staff are not very friendly nor helpful.||Pool was cold in the late afternoon so we didn’t really try it out.||Walkable to the port but uphill on the way to the hotel.

Fabulous hotel, 5 minutes from the centre of town. Great, friendly service and extensive breakfast. Nice pool with great views and beach bar. Beach/pool towels available. Fridge and WiFi. Nothing negative to say. Highly recommended.

Sicily is beautiful but there is no sugarcoating the fact that anything less than a 5-star rating will always have at least one, if not more, of no hot water, low shower pressure, bathrooms the size of closets made doubly impossible to use with (at least in the Anglo American world) redundant bidets, poor breakfasts, reception staff with poor command of English and on and on. This hotel is fully fit for purpose. Everything available works as intended. The grounds, including pool are immaculate and well maintained. Staff are exceptional. One morning an hour before breakfast I was working in the reception area utilising the time difference and the night manager without blinking volunteered “do you want a coffee?”, which hit the spot nicely. Breakfasts were exceptional too, with a maître’d that constantly checked quality and provisioning. Restaurant perfect too. Location is exactly a 6 minute walk from port and main drag to restaurants and surprisingly well merchandised Decò supermarket (if you have luggage you will need vehicular transport up the short hill). An oasis in a country and island where local owners simply accept mediocrity, refuse to pay for ongoing maintenance knowing full well we naive travellers will still pay to stay to experience the natural beauty that God and earlier generations (whether Roman, renaissance etc) bequeathed to the lazy sods. Nice rooms, easily walkable from downtown Lipari. Staff very friendly and helpful.|The restaurant (Chimera) is not to be missed: superb food and views, live pianist or guitarist.|Special mention to the restaurant manager - amazingly friendly and welcoming guy. Makes your stay all the more special when you feel cared for.

Exceptional hotel easily walkable from the ferry and the city center. Friendly staff. Breakfast had plenty of options. Comfortable bed. Great view from the balcony. Only negative was that the balcony was not private. It was partially connected to the neighboring room. It was not an issue but it should be clearly stated at time of booking.

Loved this hotel. Reasonably priced. Nice room with a balcony overlooking the sea. Very clean. Elena at the front desk was so helpful with arranging tours and beach clubs. Restaurant overlooking the Tyrreanean Sea with Simone was wonderful. Breakfast was good with scrambled eggs and a lot of choices. Short 10 minute walk to the port and town.
