Hotel Mediterraneo Sorrento

What an amazing place! Beautiful, modern hotel with an amazing view both from our room, the restaurant, and the rooftop bar. The pool is a great set-up as well. Best part of our stay was the staff. The staff at the front desk (especially Ainello!), the pool and lobby bar staff, and everyone else we encountered were just so nice and helpful - can't thank them enough. Highly recommend a stay here!

We had a fantastic holiday towards the end of October at The Hotel Mediterraneo for 1 week on bed and breakfast. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. The view from our room was stunning, we were able to watch the sun go down from our balcony every night ( we had a sea view room).|The breakfasts were delicious with plenty of choice from a self service buffet and also hot breakfasts such as eggs, omelette etc served to you by Salvatore and the exceptional breakfast team. Nothing too much trouble at all. We did have a meal one evening in The Vesuvius Restaurant, it was absolutely delicious, taste , presentation and service were amazing.|We were greeted when we first arrived by Aniello, The Hotel Concierge ,who along with his team could not have been more helpful. We wanted to hire a car to visit family a couple of hours away and Aniello kindly organised this for us through the car hire firm who delivered and collected the car to the hotel.|In our room every evening we got a complimentary bottle of water and the cleaning team always asked if we needed anything else, all really friendly ands helpful.|The Hotel has a good size pool, plenty of sun lounges to use and although they have a private beach we never used it as it was closed for the season (being late October we were aware of this and it wasn't an issue).|The hotel is about a 5 minute drive form Sorrento and we took full advantage of The Chauffeur Driven People Carrier which the hotel operated free of charge and which ran every 30 minutes, this was such a fantastic bonus to our holiday and again such friendly drivers ( sorry I did not get their names). It's a bit of a walk to Sorrento so the shuttle car was appreciated.|All in all a great stay and a fantastic holiday, many thanks to all.

We recently stayed at Hotel Mediterraneo Sorrento and it was wonderful! We arrived after a long 12 hours of travel to a very warm welcome the minute our cab arrived at the door. The valet took our baggage, champagne was served as our room was made ready. Inside our room was a beautiful mimosa and fruit tray with the freshest most delicious orange juice. What a treat! Breakfast here was spectacular, we looked forward to it every day. The staff are so professional and attentive, offering everything from warm heaters and blankets on the rooftop, jumping in to take photos of us with the sunset, setting up rides to where we needed to go, renting cars, making reservations.....it was extraordinary! Above and beyond! We travel a lot and this hotel is the best experience either of us have ever had.

We were lucky enough to stay at this wonderful hotel for a week in early October, and it truly is a very special place. What sets it apart is the incredible staff, they elevate the whole experience to another level. Everyone is Italian, which adds to the authentic charm, and they simply can’t do enough for their guests.||A special mention must go to Pina in Guest Relations, who went above and beyond to help us organize tickets and transport to a Napoli game, a wonderful experience we’ll treasure forever.||Our room was exceptionally clean, and the public areas were both classy and elegant. The pool was the perfect spot to soak up the sun and relax with a good book.||Breakfast each morning, with its breathtaking views over the Bay of Naples and Mount Vesuvius, was an absolute highlight. The hotel’s location is ideal too, just a pleasant twenty-minute walk from the centre of Sorrento, where you can stroll, dine, and enjoy a perfect Italian coffee.||We can’t wait to return!

This is one of the best luxury hotels in Sorrento! The staff is amazing and takes such good care of you. The hotel manager arranged my transfers from Naples airport and took care of dinner reservations. The bartender, Giovanni at the pool makes the best cocktails and gives outstanding customer service! Book this hotel and you won’t be disappointed! I can’t wait to return next summer!

My wife and I just spent our honeymoon here and it was absolutely perfect. The facilities are immaculate, the rooms are pristine, and above all the staff were the best I’ve ever experienced at any hotel, resort, you name it. An especially big shout out to Aniello and the front desk for going the extra mile to take care of us and make sure our honeymoon was as special as possible!

Went for honeymoon. Staff was excellent. They had shuttle to bus station included. Complimentary breakfast with a huge spread and cappuccinos. The pool was nice with a full service restaurant bedside it. Little gym outside too. Views were great. I also personally enjoyed the sustainability portion where no plastic was used at all. Would go back!

We had a fantastic time at Hotel Mediterraneo. First of all the hotel is amazing and in a great location right near the water. Our room was beautiful. The staff was exceptional including the concierge, porters, and staff at Vesuvio restaurant and Sky Bar. We did several tours through the hotel including Amalfi/Positano/Ravello, Vesuvius and a wine tasting, an olive oil tour, and more. Americo our driver was fantastic—fun, informative, knowledgeable, and a skilled driver/tour guide. I highly recommend asking for him!||We can’t wait to come back!

Wow,my name is luis I'm staying at this Resort ,right now and omg this resort is beautiful and the entire staff are so welcoming and accommodating and have such a positive helpful attitude, my mom and I are so happy we picked this place I will be back and refer my friend family and clients here!!!! the food wow!!! Not sure where to start. This place was absolutely beautiful. Start to finish. Ocean views, clean white marble everywhere. Service was top shelf from Pina at the desk to Americo and Louie. Pool and outdoor bar area had delicious snacks and treats everyday at around 6pm.... Dreaming of heading back soon. We wanted a red Vespa delivered to us it was waiting. We wanted a Boat and Captain to take us on an 8 hour Capri tour got it. The boat was owned by the hotel and top shelf immaculate. I Highly recommend this place when you are out that way... Beautiful place, staff and town...

My husband and I recently had the pleasure of staying at Hotel Mediterraneo. The hotel was wonderful in every way, beautifully decorated, with a wonderful lobby and outdoor space, including a lovely pool area with a restaurant/bar. Our room was well designed and well cared for. The entire staff was outstanding, very friendly, attentive and helpful. The 5th floor dining area, as well as the rooftop bar, have gorgeous views of the coast and sunsets, and we will fondly remember our delicious and leisurely breakfasts on the restaurant's balcony each morning. The hotel's location, on the outskirts of Sorrento, just a 20-30 minute walk to the main piazza, was perfect for us. The hotel's shuttle was also conveniently available throughout the day and evening. Many thanks to Francesco M. for making our visit to the Amalfi Coast especially memorable!

Marvelous hotel ... excellent experience from the beauty, the location, the staff ... everything about it! When we checked into our seafront room, right on cue ... a sailing ship pulled in at sunset! The breakfast buffet is amazing! We will stay here again when we bring our adult children back to charming Sorrento!

The hotel is wonderful the staff is unbelievable they filled every request we had including helping us ship our gift purchases back to the states (because we put too many 70 kg worth) I said oh I will have to buy some boxes they said no no will provide the boxes and I said well Can you call a car tto take me to the shipping store . They said no no will have them come here for you. They treated us like royalty and one person in particular Pina at the front desk was a real pleasure. We will make our next trip there at the hotel Mediterraneo a longer stay next time. Was like vacationing in heaven

Hotel Mediterraneo Sorrento was our home away from home for a good friend's wedding and I felt like we were living in paradise. This is a wonderful central location to enjoy the neighboring areas of Pompeii, Capri and Positano(Amalfi Coast). The hotel is beautiful/sleek/modern and the staff was extremely accommodating and so hard working not only with the regular vacationers but for our friend's wedding there. The complimentary breakfast buffet on the rooftop restaurant is what I miss the most. The views here cannot be beat so make sure you get there early in the morning to get a table on the patio. The pool sits amongst a well maintained garden area and was a nice way to unwind as well. We didn't take advantage of the complimentary shuttle but the hotel arranged private drivers for us (by request) on two occasions. One of the drivers gave us a nice narrated drive along the Amalfi Coast and even stopped at certain points so that we could take photos! Our room was on the first floor and our patio faced the main road. If you're sensitive to a little bit of noise and traffic, I would maybe request a room on a higher floor facing a different side of the hotel. We didn't have any major issues with noise. The room accommodated 4 women. While we could've used an extra bathroom, we made things work. Housekeeping came every day to replenish towels and toiletries and even mop! I think any place can be beautiful but the staff here truly made our experience the best. They treated us wonderfully and I'm still thinking about our wonderful stay there and the warm Italian hospitality received. I highly recommend this hotel for your Italian getaway.

The beds are like clouds and the hotel is run by angels. My cousin won a free night stay here in Sorrento and I couldn't say no. When we squeezed our car out of the tiny streets and saw the hotel, I was overwhelmed by its beauty and cliffside position on the Mediterranean. Hotel Mediterraneo is painted all white with accents of blue, emitting a wonderful beach ambience. We got the 5 star treatment and were welcomed by a bottle of champagne in our room. The breakfast/dining room on the 5th floor is breathtaking, surrounded by large windows with the view of the green mountains and blue sea. Food was excellent. The bus has a shuttle service that runs about every hour; it takes you to and from the center of the city. The pool has a very comfortable seating area with umbrellas for relaxing and enjoying a drink. I loved Sorrento, and Hotel Mediterraneo made a short visit into a heavenly summer getaway.

I did not actually stay at this hotel, but I wanted to drop a nice line about them because of an interaction with the staff here. My sister and I were VERY lost in Sorrento and trying to make our way to the ferry, so we wandered into this hotel to ask for directions. The man at the front desk was incredibly nice and in fact just told us to hop on the hotel shuttle which was going to the town center. He didn't ask us if we were staying there or anything - he just helped us out.

This hotel is a huge disappointment. I booked this hotel for the last leg of a trip with my father. We stayed in ridiculously nice hotels all over the country for around the same price. This hotel doesn't even come close. I cannot believe that it is rated with 4 stars. It's a 2 star hotel, at best. Upon checking in and seeing the room, I returned to the desk because I thought it was surely a mistake. There were two ladies working at the desk. One was nice, but she let the other one handle the situation and she could not have been more rude. Apparently the hotel is completely booked, even though there isn't another person in sight. She offered no solutions and shrugged when I said that I might have to change hotels. Not shocking now that I have read the manager responses to other negative reviews on other sites. The lobby area is nice, but the doors are open and there are tons of bugs swarming just inside, which is both annoying and disgusting. The room is hot and musty, but they claim it is against Italian law to turn on the air conditioner. As a lawyer myself, I highly doubt that, but even so, a 4 star hotel would at least provide a fan. We are in a room on the first floor, and I can hear every conversation happening at the restaurant/terrace area across the street. I might as well be sitting at their table. I have stayed in Hostels nicer than this room - it is so small that you have to turn sideways to walk between the pieces of furniture. There isn't even enough space for 2 suitcases. And the bathroom? I have seen bigger showers on sail boats. No exaggeration, I promise. I am actually using their free Internet to find a new hotel in the area now. I would not recommend booking this hotel unless you are looking for a cheap experience at a high price. ***UPDATE*** This morning, I was contacted by the marketing director, Pietro, because he wanted to discuss my review. I was hopeful that he might have a solution to offer for my experience the day before. However, he was more focused on arguing about the photos on his website. He also accused me of being aggressive, which I suppose is his idea of a woman having an opinion. It was obvious that we were not going to be able to agree and the conversation would get nowhere. He had no plausible solutions other than moving us to a new hotel, which is an even larger waste of my time when I would like to at least enjoy part of the vacation I paid so much money to book. Instead, I was prompted to spend my morning arguing with more hotel staff. Also, as of this morning, the sink in the bathroom does not drain properly, the tiny shower leaks water everywhere, I was unable to sleep for all the noise coming from surrounding rooms and hallways, and the safe in the closet will no longer open with our keys. So to amend my previous review: this is a 1 star hotel with a 4 star lobby view and 1 to 0 star customer service.

Paradise on earth!!!! The staff is amazing, clever, charming and completely at your service. The restaurants are all fantastic. They prepared a special dinner on the balcony for our 25th anniversary which was delicious. The roof top bar is chic and beautiful. It give you an amazing 360 degree view of the coast, Vesuvius and the most beautiful sunsets you will ever see. The pool and surrounding areas are immaculate. My room is on the first floor over looking the square across the street which was lively and filled with local families. I enjoyed the chatter of the Italian children playing soccer at night. The language is poetry to my ears. The front desk, always with a smile on their faces, made sure everything was perfect. The suggestions they made were always on point! The boat excursion was truly the highlight of our trip. Captain Marco made the experience unbelievable with his mastery on the water. Bringing the boat within inches of land so we can enjoy cooling off under a waterfall. I highly recommend this jewel of the Sorrento coast. It's location, staff and quality is all top shelf.
