Hotel Mercanti di Mare

Location is not the only reason to stay here! However, it is a few steps from the ferry port and buses going both directions have a terminus within 100 metres.|The hotel is clean and well equipped but it's the people who make a place like this shine. We had a difficulty arise while we stayed here and they went beyond the call of duty to help us.

Very comfortable and fantastic stay. We had a Seaview room at the front with huge verandah which was beautiful. Sirenna, was so helpful and capable on reception and all the staff were very friendly. Breakfast was excellent. Convenient location right near port if you have heavy bags. Highly recommend.

Perfect location, right by the ferry set in a beautiful square by the church. Views were 10/10, rooms comfy & clean.

Spent a glorious week, with family, at this jewel of a hotel. No ask was too great, and no detail too small. Located right in the heart of all the action in Salina, it remains a quaint oasis in which to explore the island. Rooms are spacious, clean and well appointed. Air conditioning is top-notch - something very much appreciated, as we were there during a 35+ degree heatwave. Best place for aperitivo on the island! However, what sets this hotel apart is the staff. From housekeeping, to service, they truly went out of their way. Thank you Maria, Brindusa, Serena, Alberto, William, Lucretia and the lovely Gloria. The unequivocal star of the show is Dario. Owner, operator and organiser extraordinaire. He will sort out everything and anything you might need/desire. He made our Salina island experience a joy. Can’t wait to see you all again.

We stopped here by chance as was looking for a place to have a pre-dinner drink. Great terrace over looking the centre of life as well as the most amazing view of the other nearby islands. The decor is fresh but laid back.. totally in tune with the island vibe. Staff very friendly and forthcoming. Best was the choice of great cocktails.. classics and more - perfectly executed, accompanied but lovely nibbles... hats off to the young lady mixing the drinks.. pity it's our last night but the cocktails were so good in a perfect location that we had 3 each... well worth a stop here or even an extended stay to watch life go by.

Best place to stay in Santa Marina! Rooms are super cozy and clean in a fresh Aeolian style. Breakfast area has the best view and they also serve aperitivo in the afternoon. Try cetriolino cocktail :) nice and refreshing! The staff and the hosts are the most helpful and friendly people. They helped out literally with everything! We loved every second and will come back next year! :)

This is for the happy hour/aperitivo. You can sit outside overlooking the harbor and enjoy a drink while enjoying the free bruschetta. They have a bowl with some chopped tomatoes etc. and bits of toast so you can make your own. It's a good touch. Our waiter was charming. One of the managers seemed a bit tense but hopefully that was only due to the drunk customers at the next table.

Firstly, amazing value for money - the rooms are colourful and relaxing and the breakfast is great. But the real reason we love this place is the people - everyone super helpful and caring - they work extremely hard to make everyone feel at home. And the location - beautiful view of the sea (you’ll love from breakfast to aperitivo in the evening) and a back entrance to the wonderful Main Street. This is the best place to stay in Santa Marina without a doubt!
