Mercure Amsterdam Sloterdijk Station, a Design Boutique Hotel Amsterdam, Netherlands

"This recently opened hotel which has free WiFi is situated next to the Station Amsterdam Sloterdijk - a transport hub connected with trains, bus, tram and metro to Amsterdam central station, Amsterdam city centre and airport Schiphol. Within 7 minutes, you are at Amsterdam Central Station. Schiphol airport and RAI congress centre are only 20 minutes from the hotel. The hotel is close to the A10 highway. Furthermore the hotel has its own parking facilities. Stay in one of our stylish rooms equipped with amenities or in our Privilege rooms which come with a little extra. The Mercure Amsterdam Sloterdijk Station offers a gym and a bar called the "Skybar" which offers panoramic views. It also has a restaurant situated on the 8th floor. Anne Frank House is 3.6 km from Mercure Amsterdam Sloterdijk Station, while Vondelpark is 3.9 km from the property. Schiphol Airport is 10 km away." - My Boutique Hotel (en)

We love this hotel. It’s very good value for money, less five minutes walk from Sloterdijk Station, five minutes on the way to Amsterdam Centraal Station, 15 minutes on the train to Amsterdam Schiphol airport. It’s a great location for the tourists like us, don’t want to stay in the madness of the city, just want to go to the city centre to see it. Just finely minutes on the train, and the train to Amsterdam Centraal is about every 5 minutes. Really easy and convenient. Suggest to buy Amsterdam Travel Ticket like one day, or two days or three days depends on how many days you stay. I think the maximum is three days for this ticket. You can take the train from and to Amsterdam Schiphol airport and the train in Amsterdam, tram, metro and most of buses. Really recommend it. The price of the hotel is really good, only half price or less than the hotels in Amsterdam city centre. Unfortunately the WiFi in the hotel is a little bit slow. Also it will be better if there are some USB-A and USB-C plug socket in the room, it will make the life easier for the tourists like us.

Great hotel in a quiet neighborhood. It's very easy to reach by train, making arrival and departure simple. My only small issue was the Wi-Fi connection, it could have been faster. Otherwise, a pleasant stay!

The hotel is easy for tourists to find and commute to sightseeing spots by one station to the central. Nice overall except the towels should be bigger and the hall way is too dark. Lack of gym space and lobby area is kind small. The hallway is also too dark. It’s is linked with Citadel hotel and the elevator is open for two hotels, confusing to first time travelers.

This hotel is incredibly convenient, located just 5-10 minutes from the station. It's only one stop away from Amsterdam Central Station, and the journey to the central station takes about 10 minutes by train. The hotel room is very spacious, with a comfortable mattress and pillows. The room is quiet, and the shower facilities are excellent and very comfortable. It offers great value for money. However, there was an issue during check-in that was quite inconvenient. A staff member assisted me with using the front desk self-service machine. After I input all the required information, the machine processed for a very long time without producing a result. Eventually, the staff member manually completed the check-in process for me. The problem arose later when I was taking a shower around 10:00 PM, and I received a call from the front desk. They informed me that I had not paid the city tax and insisted that I must come down to settle the fee before 12:00 AM that same night. This was annoying for a guest who had already settled in for the night. I asked if I could pay the following morning, but they firmly refused. When I went down after my shower to pay, the staff member at the front desk even questioned me why I had left without paying initially, despite the fact that the staff member who assisted with my check-in never requested the payment. there aren't many restaurants or attractions nearby, with only a small supermarket in the vicinity. However, given its proximity to the city center and the affordable price, it already offers excellent value.

The room was nice but the lighting is way too dark (bathroom, room, hallway), that pulled my grade down. Lack of bar and the hostel like check-in as well. Breakfast staff super friendly and the breakfast was good and with a nice view on the 8th floor!

Excellent hotel within walking distance of the train station. Clean premises! Wonderful staff make you feel welcome and home away from home. |We celebrated our anniversary at this hotel and the manager and staff made it memorable. The room was decorated and drinks and chocolate provided. |The breakfast was sumptuous had everything one needed or wanted. |The only drawback was the dim lighting in the corridors . The room was a reasonable size for Europe and the bed very comfortable. |The manager Rister and his staff notably Alicya and Sahara extremely personable excellent customer service and satisfaction!! They go well beyond expectation!!!

The hotel is only a 5 min walk from Sloterdijk Stn with easy access to trains, trams and buses that will take you all over Amsterdam. The staff were friendly and provided good service and as an ALL member, we received a complimentary room upgrade which made our stay even more enjoyable. The breakfast buffet had a decent selection and the food quality was very good. We’d definitely stay here again.

We've just returned from a 4 night stay at the hotel having booked specifically for a Les Mills Live event at the Sugar Factory. We wanted somewhere which was close to the venue and to central Amsterdam for a bit of sightseeing in between and it was the hotel being close to the train station as one of the trains we booked it and we weren't disappointed either. Firstly the hotel looks nice and modern inside the reception area and staff we encountered there were very pleasant and all spoke good English. We had a room on the 6th floor (604) which was also a privilege room, so was larger than the standard room with some added extras such as free access to the mini bar which is refilled each day with 6 drinks including bottles of water and soft drinks. There is a wardrobe with hanging space (although no drawers apart from 2 in the bathroom), also in the room was a coffee maker, kettle, hair dryer, robes and slippers and an ironing facilities). The TV in the room did have some BBC channels which were in English although our remote control was a little bit temperamental. The bed was large and comfortable and the room was air conditioned and had a desk and a couple of chairs. The bathroom which is essentially a wet room had a large rainfall shower with toilet and sink and the whole room was modern. We had breakfast included in our room rate and we utilised that everyday. This was in the 8th floor and has views of the area which is pleasant. The food was really nice and there was a wide variety of it along with the usual selection of hot drinks. The hotel doesn't do evening meals in the restaurant which is a shame but there are a couple of decent places to eat nearby and also with a mention in the lobby, the hotel does have some snacks and drinks to purchase if you get peckish at any time. All in all we really enjoyed the hotel, the rooms were cleaned each day if you chose, rather than the sign on the door handle that most hotels have to let staff know whether to clean the room or do not disturb, this hotel has a couple of buttons to press echo illuminate outside of the door instead which was a nice touch. |As mentioned in the review title, the bonus for us was the proximity to the train station, this is literally a couple of minutes walk from the hotel and we found the trains in Amsterdam to be extremely reliable and frequent and we used these daily. It cost approximately 12-14 euros for a day return for both of us and this can be used on as many journeys for that particular day. Central Amsterdam is only about a 7 minute ride away, Schipol airport is around the same so as much as a couple of reviews say the hotel is in the middle of nowhere, the train station means you can easily go to many places in very little time so don't let that put you off because I'd imagine staying in central Amsterdam will also mean paying a premium price whereas this hotel was really well priced in my view. For me the transport links were a winner so I can only recommend staying at this hotel and if we ever visited again, we'd definitely consider staying again.
