Hotel Mercure Amsterdam Sloterdijk Station

I stayed with my friend at this hotel, and the first impression was very pleasant. The recepcionist welcomed us warmly and offered a welcome drink.||The room was very spacious, equipped with two beds, a mini bar, a work desk and a bathtoom with complete amenities. Staying here for two nights felt so fast. This four star hotel has other facilities like a gym, luggage's store, meeting room, sky bar restaurant, parking, mini market and toilets that are friendly for friends with disabilities.||The view from hotel is nice, very quiet. The location is very strategic, right at Sloterdijk train station. Only five minutes to city centre by train.||The service was very satisfying, the staff were very friendly and helpful. We have enjoyed two terrific stays at this hotel. reasonably priced, clean modern rooms, quiet nights, great showers and bathrooms. And all of the hotel's staff members were very friendly, they provided us with excellent customer service, and they were willing to make an extra effort to help us (for both of our stays). The hotel is easily within walking distance of the Sloterdijk Train Station, which makes it convenient to go to downtown Amsterdam, to the Schiphol Airport, as well as to leave the City to travel to other locations. Both great experiences staying here. Thank you!

The hotel is excellent. I received an extremely friendly welcome at the reception. However, the self check‑in was annoying and took longer than expected. There were three staff members at the front desk who could have completed the check‑in much faster than I did myself, and I believe older guests might struggle with this system. For a hotel of this category, I would actually expect a staff‑assisted check‑in.|As a hotelier myself, I truly appreciated that when I had an issue with the air conditioning, I was immediately moved to another room, and I even received two follow‑up calls to check if everything was fine. The rooms were very well furnished and extremely clean.|For my personal preference, the mattresses were too soft and the topper was a bit too much. I encountered several housekeeping staff members during my stay, and although I always greeted them politely, none of them responded — that should not happen.|Overall, I would gladly return.

The hotel was really cozy, nice and clean. The staff at the reception were polite and helpful. The hotel was just 4-5 minute walk to the station very convenient and the train journey not far from central. Highly recommend this hotel, we will be back soon!

The hotel is just a few minutes away from the Amsterdam Sloterdijk station so the location is very convenient. It was very clean and the service was beyond amazing from the very beginning till the last hour. The room was beautiful and had all the facilities that are mentioned. I'll definitely choose it again next time I'll be in Amsterdam!

I got a garden-level room, but overall I was dissatisfied with the experience. The room’s window faced a four-lane road and the adjacent sidewalk, which meant very limited privacy. The room was also cold, and even after turning on the heating, it didn’t warm up properly — I ended up using the hairdryer to heat the room.||The interior was outdated, not at the standard expected from a 4-star hotel. Although the hotel’s proximity to the station is convenient for travel, the surrounding area is a bleak office/industrial district with absolutely no atmosphere. If I closed the blackout curtains to avoid people looking in from the street, the in-room lighting was too dim, making the space feel even less comfortable. Overall, the room was below expectations.||On the positive side, the breakfast was tasty and varied, the reception staff were helpful, and it was convenient that I could leave my luggage at the hotel free of charge after check-out until my flight.

I booked a twin room at this 4-star hotel well in advance, checked in early in the morning and informed the staff that I would return late at night. Despite this, when I arrived around midnight, the room I had fully paid for was not available. The only option offered was a double bed, even though my reservation clearly stated two separate beds. I was told it was “my fault” for arriving late, even though I had checked in and paid at 11 a.m. In the end, I had to separate the bed myself and make it on my own at midnight in a supposed 4-star hotel. This was extremely disappointing and far below the standards expected from Accor

We love this hotel. It’s very good value for money, less five minutes walk from Sloterdijk Station, five minutes on the way to Amsterdam Centraal Station, 15 minutes on the train to Amsterdam Schiphol airport. It’s a great location for the tourists like us, don’t want to stay in the madness of the city, just want to go to the city centre to see it. Just finely minutes on the train, and the train to Amsterdam Centraal is about every 5 minutes. Really easy and convenient. Suggest to buy Amsterdam Travel Ticket like one day, or two days or three days depends on how many days you stay. I think the maximum is three days for this ticket. You can take the train from and to Amsterdam Schiphol airport and the train in Amsterdam, tram, metro and most of buses. Really recommend it. The price of the hotel is really good, only half price or less than the hotels in Amsterdam city centre. Unfortunately the WiFi in the hotel is a little bit slow. Also it will be better if there are some USB-A and USB-C plug socket in the room, it will make the life easier for the tourists like us.

Amsterdam is the dream city to visit for anyone new to Europe (speaks english, clean, easy to travel, one united system of bus/train/tram, and 20 mins from all the fun great things to do in the countryside like windmills and fishing village). This hotel is 1 stop down from Amsterdam Centraal. It is in a quiet, chill, and restful spot. If you're someone who's been doing heavy traveling and want a tranquil stay with modern and nice amenities, I highly recommend this place. It was the best hotel I've stayed so far in Europe and I intend to stay in Mercure hotels going forward. Location of this hotel is literally across the street from the Sloterdijk station. Very safe walk even if at night. There's a SPAR along your way for any last min essentials. Highly recommend the day passes to travel out to fun areas. The staff were very kind and friendly. Front desk is smooth, mint water, gave out cookies and rubber duckies for Christmas, fruits to snack on. Front area has 2 computers to use, nice electric fireplace. Building is tall and modern. Only thing is, it seems they are still under construction for the other half of all floors with rooms. I am not sure why, so it can be a little strange. Rooms: Large and spacious and modern. Some people will complain it's dark. I agree- the rooms are painted black and purple tones and feels dark. However, the closets have lights, the shower is luxurious (cloud shower), beds are super comfortable and compared to most European cramped hotel rooms, this feels luxurious and almost like American. Cleaning: If you actually leave the little note out there telling them your room really doesn't need to be cleaned, you can get 5$ a day off the Skylounge in coupons. I thought that was super neat. On my last day I had accumulated 10 $ and got to try their excellent Taglatelle pasta. Food: there is breakfast for about 22$ a person- a little pricy but compared to other continental breakfasts I've seen, they have a larger spread. They have fresh juices, herring, all kinds of cold cuts, fancy seating, great coffee machine and just a great spread. I highly recommend it if you are a big breakfast eater and are about to go out for the day and need a fuller meal.

A pleasant surprise. Even though I frequently visit an office in Sloterdijk, I usually stay in a hotel near Amsterdam Centraal Station. The Mercure is a reasonable option. Pros: the rooms are large (by Amsterdam standards). The wifi is reliable and the usual items (coffee maker, refrigerator, safe are provided). The room rates are reasonable. The buffet on the eighth floor is good - although I was disappointed that there was no smoked salmon. There is also a reasonably good restaurant for lunch or dinner on the ground floor. Cons: the room felt dark. There is a good number of lights in the room, but it still felt dark. The 35 Euro charge for early checkin was unnecessary. Conclusion: if you want to stay in the Sloterdijk area, this hotel is the best option.

I have waited a bit to write this review. I visited this hotel the first time around a week after they opened and that experience was not the best as they were perhaps not really ready to open at that time but it is a totally different experience after that. The hotel is in a convenient location for me when I travel for business to Amsterdam. As most of the business I do is at the airport I have often stayed there but after several visits per month for many years I was sick and tired of the airport hotels so this is easy access being next to Sloterdijk and also makes it easy to go into town for dinner. After the chaos of the first visit the service has been really good. Always friendly and fast at check-in and they keep track of loyalty benefits and special requests. The elevators at this place are a bit weird (no buttons in the elevator so need to select the floor outside) but now seems to work. They have a very small gym but I have never seen anyone else use it. The rooms are a bit dark but that is more a decoration choice and it works ok, just a bit weird with portraits on the wall staring at the bed. Everything is new and works well. They have the essentials so safe, mini-bar, TV, iron and ironing board. Free wifi is reliable and reasonably fast. The restaurant at the top floor is decent and prices are acceptable. Good selection of beer (some local craft ones) as well as ok wine selection. Food is not amazing but good enough for a hotel. The atmosphere is nice and there are plenty of seats. Breakfast is also served there and it is a nice and fresh breakfast.

Good location outside of Central Amsterdam. Easy train/metro/tram/bus access. 15 minutes to Zaans Schanns Windmills. 20 minutes to Central Station. Room was larger than others we stayed in during our Europe trip. Clean rooms, helpful staff.

The structure of the hotel seems a bit outdated from the outside, but the interior is very modern and chic. The lighting is a bit dim for my personal liking, but not a huge deal for me. It is within walking distance from the transit station and it has a restaurant and bar on the upper floor. The only thing I would recommend is for the cleaning staff to pay a bit closer attention to details, some of my towels were not switched out and utensils for coffee and tea were not cleaned.

Amazing hotel! Very new, modern and for tech lovers yet the lighting was a bit dark for me. They were still installing blinds upon check in(thats how new). A quick 5 min walk to the train station I was very impressed upon entering. Just one stop away via train to Amsterdam Central. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast at 22€ was a bit pricy for me, but for a big eater, a great deal that included custom omelets, fresh squeezed juice, pastries, fresh cut meats and cheese along side a gorgeous view of Amsterdam. The wi-fi here was the best with no interruptions and the shower...oh the rain shower...the beds that felt like clouds... how I miss you sooooo much. A hidden secret that I hate to share but will definitely stay here again when visiting Amsterdam.
