Mercure Figeac Viguier du Roy (Figeac, Occitanie) 2 Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"Spending a few days well off the beaten path in the riverside medieval village of Figeac is a wonderful way to immerse yourself in French culture, especially if you stay in a hotel as quintessentially French as Hôtel Mercure Figeac Viguier du Roy. From the charming stone courtyard to the decorative toile wallpaper to the classic bistro, this boutique hotel — formerly a luxurious private residence — is grounded in local history and tradition. Guest rooms are simple and elegant, with stone and wood details. The aesthetic is loosely based around literary themes: think antique writing desks, calligraphy murals, and high-quality lamps perfect for reading. In warmer weather, there’s a swimming pool and terrace. Otherwise, the hotel lends bicycles for exploring the town’s cobblestoned streets and quaint corner cafés." - Tablet Hotels

Imagine being in the lap of luxury in the heart of Figeac! M. Olivier Gregori and his staff attend to every detail and wish of their guests. Vincent (front desk/manager) and Autur (head waiter) deserve special mention for their care and professionalism.||Our room was...gorgeous. It was luxurious, the bed was huge and comfortable, and all of the amenities were on point.||Don't miss out on breakfast and dinners there. Breakfast is fascinating because not only is it high quality, but the chef documents every ingredient as to its local nature/sourcing. Dinner is a classy, refined experience, and again the chef is dedicated to quality ingredients and artful presentations. Just lovely.||The old part of Figeac is steps away from the hotel, and there you'll find outdoor cafes, 16th century buildings (amazing!!), and lots of winding streets and cute little shops. Also, be sure to visit the Writing museum, which is right in the main square.||I can not leave this review without making special mention of M. Gregori. With him, we enjoyed conversations about history, Philosophy, his love of his career, our families, the history of Figeac, etc. He's a lovely human being. He clearly cares about providing 5-star service, he treats each guest as the individual they are, and he cares deeply about his staff and their professionalism. Although he had a 5-star hotel to run, he paused throughout the day to treat my wife and me like royalty. He's a true gentleman, and I can't quite adequately express my gratitude for his kindness.||To be honest, the hotel was so posh, so beautiful, and so guest-centered, I'm not sure I deserved to be so richly treated.

I discovered this hotel by chance on the Accor ALL app, captured in the photo, and added it to my to-do list. What the photos show is 100% real. The atmosphere, or rather, atmospheres, are magnificent; every corner of this castle-like hotel is worth discovering. It's almost a shame you can only sleep in one room; you'll want to discover them all. It's a Mercure, but honestly, a lot of steps ahead of other Mercure I have been!

Another one night stay as we sped south at great leisure. Too brief to do Figeac justice. Hotel a beautifully converted medieval building in the heart of the town. Ideal for exploring the centre, with its own car park a very short walk from reception, which is essential if driving. Streets are narrow be mindful to take Rue Zola which brings you outside the hotel and little square for handy unloading of luggage before parking. Highly recommend.

Great location, amazing building. We had a suite and it was amazing. Enormous, high ceiling rooms, with period details and fittings. Staff were fab

Arrived around 2pm and was able to drop luggage at reception and proceed to hotel car park a short distance away via the one way system but only a short although steep 200 mtr decent back to the front of the hotel via a pedestrian side street. Note that the walk back up is more strenuous and not to be taken lightly for anyone with disabilities or just unfit. My only one small gripe was the check in at 4pm, although it is a nice informal sit at a desk check in, which could only effectively do one check in at a time in effect led to about a 20 minute wait for us as all the other customers who had arrived early were doing the same as us and turned up at 4pm to get our room, the check in was smooth and efficient once our turn came and truthfully I put some of the blame on the customers before us who were being awkward and asking what seemed to be irrelevent questions not related to check in or their stay. When we reached our room above the lovely garden and on the level with the pool, again, be aware for those with mobility problems there are still a few stairs to tackle once you have exited the lift, the room was stunning and met all our expectations and more. We'd had a good 2 hr walk around the town before check in and had checked out most of the restaurants menu's and didn't see anything that that jumped out at us so to make good use of the outstanding room and the hotel facilities we booked our evening meal in the hotel, which was served in the gorgeous courtyard, we were not disapointed it was superb French cuisine presented wonderfully and I might add not any more expensive than the menu's we'd checked out earlier. Superb breakfast next morning to set us up for a tour of the town and it's museums and our trip home late afternoon.

This 7 centuries old castle in the heart of the city of Figeac has recently been converted into a boutique hotel. You will enjoy lovely rooms or suites, but also lovely gardens, a cloister and a swimming pool.

Without doubt, this was the best hotel we stayed in while we were in France earlier this year. We loved everything about it, from the attentive, yet subtle service (the staff were so gracious and helpful) to the beautiful gardens, its proximity and the most magnificent room we had. The room was exceptionally comfortable, very elegant and beautifully decorated. We just loved it. Our only regret - we only had one night! Thank you Hotel Mercure, Figeac Viguier du Roy. We loved everything about our stay.
