When we walked in, Ithought I had made a mistake in trying to be economical. The lobby/reception area of this hotel is not impressive. However, when they showed us our room I was relieved. Very nice, clean, AC, good internet. Some have commented that the bathrooms are very small but we found ours to be fine for us. The staff was friendly, though perhaps a bit unorganized--didn't seem to be quite ready for us. We were only there for one night, so my experience is limited. I would be fine going there again.

I just spent 3 nights at meson del mar hotel and it was a very nice 3 star Hotel. The management was incredible and helpful is every way. || Within minutes walking to 3 museums and about a 10 minute walk to the zocolo. || The restaurant was closed but I would not have used it, besides for a beer or two, anyway. In fact, I asked the day manager about a cold beer and she brought one out to me right away. She even offer to open the kitchen, but that is asking way too much.|| I took a small room on the ground floor, it was perfect for one person, could have been a bit tight for two even with a full size bed. Some posters mentioned street noise and the ONLY time I heard anything was Friday rush hour, some cars honking their horns...trying to get past some construction a few blocks down, That lasted about an hour ( at 5pm to 6 pm) and then all was quiet again. Noise is not an issue.|| Really a great, small Hotel. A good location, staff is perfect, rooms are clean and it is close to the zocolo. I will stay there again.

Great for one night...they told me no wifi in the rooms, just the public areas, but it worked in mine (214). Staff was fine, quite accommodating (I wanted to check in quite early and they let me). Cheap price...good bed and bedding. Shower could have a better shower head. Everything worked fine. No telephones in the rooms...but what do you expect for $25?

While we have been to Mexico dozens of times, this was our first trip to Veracruz. Based on other TA reviews we chose to stay at the Meson del Mar. It is located in the historic center of the city within easy walking distance of the Malecon, Zocalo and other attractions. It is, however, a long way from the beach areas in Boca del Rio.||||The hotel was exactly as described. It is clean, well maintained, and has a very nice, attentive staff. The rooms are exactly as pictured on their website. The bed was very comfortable, the AC blew cold, and the water was hot with great water pressure. The only negative was that the bathroom was really quite small. ||||Given that Veracruz is not a major tourist destination, the hotel was quite good for the locale.

We visited here two years ago and decided to return. The colors were changed in the lobby. But, Nohemi’s smiling face and kindness was still there as before!||We stayed in room 217 which had a king bed on the first floor and a queen on the second floor. While the bathroom is small, the trade off of the king bed was worth the extra pesos. ||Rosie, the lady who attended to our room, was magnificent. She was extremely attentive to details. Of course, Nohemi was incredibly attentive as she was on our last trip. ||We just love this place. Lots of history in he centre of the historic district. |

The hotel is clean, quiet, and comfortable and very close to the Zocalo. Staff was welcoming and helpful. Would definitely return. My room had a loft with spiral staircase but slept downstairs in the double bed. The bathroom was very small and reminiscent of those on a Pullman railroad car.

Fast internet. Clean, quiet and relatively spacious. There is conditioned air. In the city center, just a few block from the Malecón. Great customer service. People helped me to order a taxi and made sure all the questions were answered very friendly. The hotel is also pretty.

Meson del Mar is a historic building with some character, but the posted pictures make it look much better than it really is. It's a very basic hotel, with a charming lady as a manager, who makes every effort to help you (if you have some basic Spanish, at least). My accommodation was one of the double-level rooms. It was quiet (which I had asked for), had only a skylight and felt a bit claustrophobic. The damp air, which the air conditioning did little to alleviate, was hard to bare.
