My wife and I stayed at Hotel Metro and had a terrific experience during our stay. The loft room we stayed in was spacious, with a nice modern feel. We really appreciated all the small additions that were given to us upon arrival ex. My wife loved the make up wipes provided, bath robes and the Keurig. When we asked for drinking glasses, the polite desk clerk went above and beyond to get us wine glasses and a bucket of ice she delivered right to our room without us asking. Our only “concern” was that the room was a bit too chilly at times but it wasn’t a deal breaker for us. We would gladly rebook at hotel metro again.

Second time staying in this hotel. Amenities are good. Fan in bathroom needs a good cleaning. Parking is out of the way. First year we were not charged for parking (2 vehicles). This year we were charged $26+ per vehicle. That was a real disappointment. Great market across the street.

DO NOT BOOK HERE, especially if you are a woman traveling. I booked a stay for my mother and her friend, and it was a traumatizing experience. There is zero disclosure on their website or Booking.com that this property operates as a homeless hotel with no security or reception staff present at night. When my mother arrived, the lobby was filled with men who immediately began catcalling and harassing her. The situation escalated to the point where they chased her out of the building and back to her car. When we confronted the hotel, management admitted they saw the entire event on CCTV and can confirm its how the event played out. they also said "the homeless are the guests of the hotel" and admitted they have no staff on-site to protect anyone other than a camera. My mother escaped the property and checked into the Holiday Inn nearby, where she had a wonderful, professional, and most importantly a safe stay. Hotel Metro double-charged my card for $700 (instead of $350). They refunded the overcharge but refused to refund the booking itself, despite the property being uninhabitable and dangerous. They have blocked our phone numbers to avoid accountability. This business has no integrity and zero regard for guest safety. they call themselves a 4 star hotel where this is a motel They are happy to take your money but will leave you unprotected , in the dark, and in a high-risk environment. Stay elsewhere. You charged me twice, I have never received that double booking

Hotel is beautiful inside, rooms need to be cleaned better. So much dirt, and things under the mattress. Yes, we check for bugs so that's how that was found, and the walls in the bathroom look like they haven't been washed in a while. Receptionist was friendly, there is no parking.

Edit: dropping my 3 star to a 1 star after seeing hotel management ignore my review while offering compensation to another reviewer with the same noise complaints around the exact same time as my stay. Now I REALLY wouldn’t consider ever staying here again. Treat your guests equally. The hotel and room itself were nice and clean. A small, boutique style hotel setup, with only a few floors. The staff were friendly, helpful and efficient. The location is great for foot travel to restaurants, bars, entertainment and the market. I enjoyed the text concierge and the rain shower was great. Couple things to consider before booking here: this is not a typical hotel building. It is an old building and just like an old apartment, you hear everything. The guests above me stomped and slammed around as late as 4am. You can hear their shower running and their toilet flushing. I was on the third floor and was across the hall from the stairwell that has a push bar on the door that makes a loud noise when pushed and the door slams shut hard and loud, as do the hotel room doors. The opening and slamming of doors was near constant, and continued all throughout the night. And this was all so loud, earplugs couldn’t drown it out. Apparently people weren’t staying here during these days to sleep. They were staying here to party downtown London, which leads me to the second major pitfall of this hotel: there are no staff overnight. I had a two night stay and both nights was kept awake by guests on my floor who partied all night, in and out of their rooms, slamming doors, stomping, playing loud music and there’s absolutely nothing to be done because there’s no staff present. I left this hotel unrested and burnt out. If you are a light sleeper, this hotel will not work for you. If you can sleep through anything, everything else about it was nice, book away.

I have nothing but great things to say about this place. Traveled from Windsor to London for 1 night for a concert at Canada Life Place. I was able to check in and check out of the hotel from my phone and the room code was even sent to my phone. No need to speak to a worker. The hotel was located steps away from Canada Life Place and there’s even a nice indoor market just outside of the hotel with restaurants and shopping. Wish I could give more than 5 stars. Very impressed and would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Honestly extremely disappointed. We paid $260 for one night here, we left in the middle of the night because we were so uncomfortable. The main issue was that the room absolutely stunk like sewage. We asked if there was another room or a window screen we could put to replace the piece of Styrofoam blocking the window to get some fresh air. The women at the front desk said she wasnt able to do anything for us at the moment, and wasn't able to even leave a note for management. The only thing they could do for us was to give us some air freshener. She insisted the smell was from outside, but outside the hotel smelt completely fine. We tried to just deal with it but ended up leaving about 30 minutes later. Front desk staff had left by then so we weren't even able to check out or ask for a refund. On-top of that the air conditioner in our room was absolutely filthy and covered in dirt, there were gaps between the styrofoam and the window so bugs could definitely get it. The bed was extremely uncomfortable. Overall bad and creepy vibes. Please spend your money somewhere else. Our room didn't look anything like the photos.

We were unable to get to the hotel because of snow squalls but were too late to cancel with 24h notice. The clerk on the phone was fantastic but explained that she on her own could not permit us to cancel with insufficient notice. She agreed to explain our plight to management and they permitted us to cancel without penalty! Very grateful!
