The hotel and room itself were nice and clean. A small, boutique style hotel setup, with only a few floors. The staff were friendly, helpful and efficient. The location is great for foot travel to restaurants, bars, entertainment and the market. I enjoyed the text concierge and the rain shower was great.
Couple things to consider before booking here: this is not a typical hotel building. It is an old building and just like an old apartment, you hear everything. The guests above me stomped and slammed around as late as 4am. You can hear their shower running and their toilet flushing. I was on the third floor and was across the hall from the stairwell that has a push bar on the door that makes a loud noise when pushed and the door slams shut hard and loud, as do the hotel room doors. The opening and slamming of doors was near constant, and continued all throughout the night. And this was all so loud, earplugs couldn’t drown it out. Apparently people weren’t staying here during these days to sleep. They were staying here to party downtown London, which leads me to the second major pitfall of this hotel: there are no staff overnight. I had a two night stay and both nights was kept awake by guests on my floor who partied all night, in and out of their rooms, slamming doors, stomping, playing loud music and there’s absolutely nothing to be done because there’s no staff present. I left this hotel unrested and burnt out. If you are a light sleeper, this hotel will not work for you.
If you can sleep through anything, everything else about it was nice, book away.
