Hotel Metropol

It is a very practical hotel (we stayed one night, as a family), well placed, and you can go anywhere from there. The furniture was a bit old. The breakfast was really basic. It was curious because despite being in front of the train station, we did not find it very noisy, but this is quite relative from one to another, which is why they offer earplugs for those who need them.|The person in the reception was very gentle and open to give the main instructions as well as indications to visit the city, and we appreciate all his attention.

The staff at Hotel Metropol St Gallen Switzerland are very helpful. Breakfasts for the entire stay was included in the room costs. It was quite a big spread with everything you could ask for. Coffee was made by the lovely people working the breakfast area. The room was cleaned everyday. The hotel is across the road from the train station and very central. I could not hear the trains even though the train station is across the road. Buses run just outside the hotel with bus stops a few steps away. Shops are a few feet away from the hotel. The hotel hands out free bus passes for some bus routes. I do not use them as I walked to where I wanted to go. Thank you to everyone at Hotel Metropol. I had a very enjoyable stay there.

Hotel at great location directly in front of train station - but room was very quite. Spacy room (for typical Swiss hotel), nice and clean, bathroom in good shape. Good breakfast with wide selection incl. eggs, salmon. Check In was however not that smooth - instructions recieved did not match reality and I had to walk around with luggage for no reason. But everything worked out fine in the end.

This hotel is immediately across the street from the St. Gallen rail station (HBF). Very nice hotel to stay in. Good breakfast and view of the main street while your sipping coffee. We arrived very early and the gentlemen at the desk held our luggage, while we traveled around the area. When we returned, our the luggage was in our room. Our room was nice, soft bed, comforters, and nice bathroom. All the fixtures were in good condition. TV worked well. St Gallen is an easy town to get around as their transit is good and the town has a tourist transport card so transit for tourists is free and far ranging. You can travel to Lake Constance for free or just travel around and see the sites in St Gallin.

Pictures do not match reality. Our room was “not for smokers” and yet the smell of cigarettes was unbearable. ||Access to the Internet is not free and requires additional payment. The offer announced access through SMS link which never worked.

Ideal location for us as we came to St Gallen and went from it by rail; we also used the train for an afternoon trip to Lake Constance using the free tickets for tourists staying in local hotels.

Everything is wonderful, check in is easy, nice staff, luckily we got an early check in. The room is nice just opposite the train station and we got that view. Clean & big room with essential amenities. Breakfast is great i like the atmosphere. The staff are really nice, they had prepared child seat for my daughter, and offered her some hot chocolate. Would recommend this hotel to everyone.

I booked to stay here months ago and when availability got worse the hotel decided to cancel my booking so they could make more money. They said it was Booking.com but this is a complete fabrication. Don’t trust this hotel.
