Great location. I would only book again the nicest rooms were available. Unfortunately, the twin we reserved was a quad , on the ground floor , overlooking people eating breakfast. Felt like a cave with very little natural light, and you couldn't open the blinds and curtain during breakfast. There are two rooms like this not accurately shown online and the hotel should make it clear. They could also make these two rooms nicer to compensate for their poor location in the hotel.

If you want to be in the middle of the action day and night-this is your hotel! ||The main thing going for this hotel is its location-right next to the mezquita. If you are lucky or unlucky to have a room where you gaze upon it from your window you will share the excitement of every single person who yells, talks, laughs, poses, mingles, and every other human interaction that occurs mere feet from where you sleep. ||It is loud. Very loud. There is also music, which apparently by law must end at midnight. I didn’t time this but it went past when I would have preferred some quiet to go to sleep. ||The target clientele at this hotel is probably not me and my husband. We are mid 60’s, well travelled and while not exactly prime specimens of physical fitness, we can manage our luggage and walk without embarrassing ourselves. ||Several reviews have mentioned that this hotel does not have an elevator. This is not exactly true. There is an elevator. It was operational. However it goes only to a number of rooms at the top of the hotel. Our room, on the second floor was not served by this elevator. However, it would have been far easier to take the elevator up to the higher floor and walk down the significantly fewer stairs than to struggle up the many more steps with our backpacks and rollaboards to get to our room. Why didn’t the front desk attendants suggest this? I have no idea. There were two women at the desk when we checked in. One of them could have offered to help us with our bags. That would have been great customer service and very welcome. ||We left our larger suitcase in the locked luggage room on the ground floor. We had also used this room to store all of our bags when we first arrived as our room was not yet ready. It was nice to have this option. However, it is not exactly secure. Every guest is handed the key to enter and drop off or remove his or her luggage. It would have been preferable for an employee to handle this as is done in most other hotels. Any other guest has access to your property. Keep that in mind should you decide to use this service. ||We did not have breakfast at the hotel. At 12 euros a person, we found we could have breakfast at one of the nearby cafes for a more reasonable price. There is even a Starbucks close to the hotel. ||Finally, unbeknownst to us when we booked this hotel, it was a special weekend. There was a fair going on and this meant hotel prices were higher than usual. We did not get good value from this hotel. The room was dark because we had to keep the wooden shutters closed to block some of the street noise. The employees were friendly but unhelpful. If we were 30 years younger we might have been better suited to be a guest here but we did not enjoy being so close to the action on the street below.

A very beautiful hotel. It is really like a museum. Decent breakfast with fruits. All the rooms are different: some are large, some are small. You get what you have paid for. If you chose the room with Mezquita view it will be large and the view is breathtaking but it's better to have earplugs. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I would definitely return.

We should have heeded the warnings about outside rooms being noisy. The location is great, but the first night we were kept awake by the sound of people talking and someone playing a guitar outside on the street. The second night, fortunately, there was a sudden rain storm and the guitar player went elsewhere. The windows have little sound proofing as they are attached to mobile shutters which don’t close tightly.

The hotel is in perfect locaiton and looks very nice. The service is also good. The furniture is a bit too simple but worths the price.

This was my second time staying at Hotel Mezquita, located right next to the famous mosque-cathedral. My first visit was in 2022, shortly after travel resumed following the pandemic. I had a room with a view of the Mezquita, and it was magical. This time, my room faced the elegant patio, which was also charming in its own way. As before, the hotel staff were friendly and helpful. They assisted me in finding the statue of the philosopher Ibn Rushd, for which I’m very grateful. It’s located near the old city wall. I was especially excited to find the statue. I was searching for it as part of an investigation into a theory proposed by my neighbor, Douglas Mikkelson, a retired Professor of History at the University of Hawai‘i at Hilo. He believes that the three figures in Giorgione’s painting The Three Philosophers represent the Muslim jurist Averroes (Latinized Ibn Rushd), the Jewish rabbi Maimonides, and the Catholic priest Thomas Aquinas. I find this theory both beautiful and highly credible. There is also a statue of Maimonides in Córdoba, and I’m sure the hotel staff would be happy to help you locate it. Unfortunately, I lost my phone and couldn’t take any pictures. But I plan to return to Córdoba to continue my research, and I’ll certainly stay at Hotel Mezquita again.

The reception very helpful and in case u checkin too early they have bag storage area with free WiFi. It’s centrally located with all the place of interest just minute away . Plenty of restaurants nearby. Had a fantastic halal paella (oxtail) just minutes away from the hotel.

The full name of the hotel is Hotel Casa Museo de la Mezquita - and it lives up to the name. From the art lined hallways to the delightful wooden doors to the period pieces throughout, it's like staying in a museum. Excellently located in the heart of Cordoba's historic area it's a short walk to so many great things to see and do and lots of great dining choices.
