Hotel Michalska Brana

Stayed at the hotel for one night. Our room was clean and comfortable. Large bathroom. Stay included breakfast. Hard and soft boiled eggs. Cereal, toast, rolls, bacon, fruit and coffee. Good location except for the strip club across the street stays busy all night

Nice hotel with ok breakfast. Good location. Only challenge we had that it got way too warm inside as the air-conditioning really did not seem to do too much. ( We could not let it on either as you had to have card inside to leave air-conditioning on.)

Lovely small hotel. Comfortable, quiet., a good breakfast small but perfectly appointed rooms. Fantastic location. Ideally situated in the historic area. We had a lovely stay and the staff were really friendly.

Bratislava is a beautiful small city, and this hotel is right in the centre of old town. Staff are extremely helpful - happily printing out some tickets for my onward journey for me, without charge or hesistation. The rooms themselves are very modern, very clean, and very comfortable.

In the centre of the historical part of Bratislava. Good size, clean, and comfortable rooms with large beds. Breakfast, served in another hotel owned by the same people, has variety of choices, so definitely go for it.

Our plane got canceled so we couldnt arrive on the first night. To our surprise, they canceled our booking for the hole stay, even though we payed for the 2 nights (and charged us). We called the hotel and talked to the receptionist who was extremely rude and screamed at us. After talking to the manager and doing a scandal, they told us to go to an apartment because they overbooked our already payed room!! Upon arrival, the woman who talked to us on the phone was again very rude and angry. Conclusion: very unfriendly people and you should fire that receptionist.

We stayed here just one night during a recent short stay in Bratislava. I only wish we had been able to stay longer - the hotel has a perfect location just inside the medieval city gates, and just as other reviewers have said, it is rather cosy and personal instead of aloof and corporate. I found the room to be compact but a model of cleanliness and efficiency - we had a gorgeous view of a cobblestone side-street and the minarets of a church from our window. It is true that the breakfast is rather small but that is really due to the Slav culture - their big meal is lunch, not breakfast, so they put out the typical fare for a hotel -- yogurts, fresh fruit, breads and cheeses, sliced meats, hot coffee and orange juice, along with a selection of hot dishes you can order off the menu to be individually prepared if you prefer. When I go back to Bratislava, I will not hesitate to stay here again. (for what its worth, we also appreciated the complimentary umbrellas they gave us since it was raining on our first day)

The staff at the reception was really not friendly. The rooms are okay but it can get loud from the streets. The breakfast doesn't have a wide selection of food and is not vegan friendly. The place is located right next to La porte Michel, Wich is a really nice spot.
