When my wife and I first arrived at the hotel late on a Saturday night after a 2-hour delay, I really didn’t want to like the hotel. The pool area looked shabby, the sunbeds had no cushions, the 2-person beds were untidy with half the curtains drawn and the other half open. Reception was up some steps with nobody to help with luggage; reception staff weren’t particularly welcoming.||The hotel is located 2 minutes from the beach and 20 minutes’ walk from the Old Town, you can get a taxi but it costs 15-20 Euros and takes longer.|| I had booked a suite, I’d read reviews about how small the rooms were, I was very pleased and somewhat relieved at the size of the suite, two large rooms, one with a king bed the other with a sofa, desk and TV, two balconies overlooking the pool area.||I looked in a couple of small rooms, they really are small, you would struggle to fit 2 people and suitcases in the room.||Breakfast at the hotel was excellent, a really good choice of cold meats, cheese and fruit as well as the usual cooked breakfast. Good selection of bread and pastries, teas and coffee were self-service, (I’ll come back to this).||Although there aren’t enough sunbeds to go round, the pool area wasn’t busy and many of the guests go to the beach or beach clubs during the day.||Pool service was bit hit and miss depending on the time of day, but overall, the pool staff were very helpful but sometimes they were invisible.||By the end of our 7-day holiday I really loved the hotel and was sorry to leave.||The hotel is only a 4 star but could easily be a 5 star with a few changes.||• The rooftop bar looks great but doesn’t open until 5.30, if there were more canopies/umbrellas the bar could be used for lunch, much better views than the pool bar.|• There are no signs at the front entrance telling passersby about the roof top bar, add a menu to the wall outside, let them know what it’s all about.||• The gym could be improved; the treadmill didn’t work for the week I was there.||• Smarten up the pool area, put cushions on the sunbeds, tidy and straighten the beds at the end of the afternoon, first impressions are so important.||• There’s a bar by the pool that would be great at night if it was open, this would attract passing trade.||• Table service at breakfast, give guests their first cup of tea and coffee in the morning.||I could go on, but all in all it’s a lovely hotel and I would go back again.
