6 Best Day Trips from Barcelona, and the Itinerary to Know for Each | Condé Nast Traveler

"White leather booths, jumbo bonsai trees, transparent Ghost chairs, and a DJ’s melodic beats: Sky Bar at MiM Sitges feels like a club. But what you'll notice above all—and what probably brought you in to begin with—are the 360-degree views over Sitges. The drinks are decent but all pretty standard; mojitos are particularly popular, and the caipirinha and margaritas fit the scene. But most folks are here for the chilled-out vibe and killer views." - Gemma Askham,Jessica Benavides Canepa

I arrived to the hotel one hour before my room is ready. I was told that I could leave my bag until my room is ready at 3 PM. I left and went to the beach and returned at 6 PM. When I checked into my room, there was a terrible odor in the room as I was in the bottom of the toilet and smelled, that smell the front desk staff told me that they would send the maintenance man up though I could not bear to stay in this room. I asked to be switched to a different room. The room that was offered the AC in my room didn’t work. I called to complain to the front desk. I told them I was going to dinner and would return and that they were able to enter the room while I was away. I returned after dinner at 10 PM to find my room was still very hot and when I went to the front desk, she mentioned the maintenance man was no longer on site for the evening. She offered a fan of room since the hotel was fully booked. I advised to book me a room in the neighboring hotel, Calipolis, hoping this nearby hotel would have a room available with working air condition. This nearby hotel did have a room and I was able to spend the night here. I returned the next morning to Mim and asked for a voucher for breakfast for the inconvenience. I received free breakfast though never received an apology and the front desk. Staff gave me attitude when I requested a different room. I have never stayed in a hotel, the front desk the air condition in the guest room. I have also never stayed in a hotel room that had such a odor, forcing me out of the room. I would like to be compensated for at least one night that I had to stay in another hotel because the lack of facilities in your hotel. This hotel is in desperate need of renovations inside the guest rooms. I will happily stay elsewhere when visiting Sitges in the future, I would appreciate a follow up email or phone call with a complete refund for my stay. The website for the hotel made me think I was staying in a five star hotel and when I arrived and viewed the rooms, I was deeply disappointed.

First time guest. Thorough review ahead. Would love nothing more than to give this property a solid All-5-Star review, but I simply cannot because of the appalling physical condition of some very visible interior spaces. My rating of these areas is reflected in my 2-star rating for the room, because there was no other better option for rating these spaces. But first I want to focus on the 4- and 5-star qualities of this hotel. Number One — the front desk staff. 5+ stars. Everyone we dealt with was warmly welcoming, genuinely friendly, very knowledgeable and proactively helpful with suggestions, advice, special arrangements and bookings. They truly do provide concierge-level service. I hope the management and ownership group appreciate key players like Leo, Alex and the beautiful young lady with the longer hair (whose name I unforgivably can’t recall at the moment, ugh.) 4 stars for the spa facility. Clean. Modern. Friendly attendants. My only disappointment was the massage I received. There were only three types offered on the menu, Relaxation, Deep Tissue and Sportive. Wanted a decent firm-pressured Swedish-type massage. True DT & “Sports” massage leave me feeling sore afterwards. So a Relaxation massage it was. I told my masseur I wanted firm pressure and stretching. He provided anything but. His strongest touch was unacceptably light. One of the least satisfying massages I’ve had to date. So disappointing. 4 stars on our junior suite with a lovely sea view on a mid-level floor. Clean, well appointed, intuitive, spacious. Sizable shower stall with great water pressure and easily regulated water temps. All good things. Some of the one-off misses include: Absence of a cork screw (not even available upon request.) Morning coffeemaker products were not included in price of the suite. Honor bar up-charge on everything. Conversations in hallways, doors shutting, housekeeping cleaning nearby rooms, all louder than we would’ve wished. As also was exterior street noise, especially motorcycles. And I know the property has had its difficulties with the local council about the whole balcony thing, but come on, turning them into large landscape planters and then ignoring them until they’re just loads of dead vegetation and dirt… what the?? 3 stars for the rooftop which hosts the Sky Bar and the pool deck. Service at the Sky Bar (even when not busy) was not particularly friendly, underwhelming, and less than attentive. What a contrast to the front desk team. As for the pool deck area, please upgrade those loungers. First off, you need to provide more than six loungers for a property this size. Especially when one of the chairs was just a metal frame with no topper and therefore unusable. Another had splintered, broken wooden slats — uncomfortable and potentially unsafe. Get rid of the two or three bar tables closest to the pool and replace with seating more suited to sunning. Speaking of the bar tables, please consider replacing those bar stools throughout with a more comfortable option that provides a slightly higher back for lumbar support. On to the Lobby. 4.5 Stars. Lovely, clean, spacious, plenty of comfortable seating. But please turn the AC on, or install some fans. It sits atop a spa that generates nothing but humidity and heat. The lobby always felt sticky and hot. Oddly, the emergency staircase off the lobby was decorated like a beautiful Roman bath. From the lower level spa to the rooftop, a spiral of gleaming white marble stairs with upscale spindle and rails, and local art and sculpture tastefully adorning its crisp white walls and corner niches. If only this attention to design, decor and detail were carried throughout the property. Ok, let’s talk about the condition of the public areas leading to the rooms. We would loved to have shown our accommodations to friends staying at a couple of nearby hotels, but these areas were so rough, it would have been an embarrassment. See photos. Messi and MiM, you’re the ones who should be embarrassed. Invest the capital. Do the work, man. Your brands will thank you.

Great location, close to the beach but very quiet 🤫 the staff were amazing, help us a lot , the pool is so nice, empty and quiet and the bar staff was very nice :) The only thing is the bed... The mattress was not that good... Other than that we highly recommend 👍👍👍

Staff were courteous and professional. The mark of a good service provider is to not quibble over a customer's frustrations with the service provided (so long as they are genuine). Hotel MiM acknowledged and rectified the issue I had (having spent my first night in a room with no AC) and upgraded me for the rest of my stay. Location wise it's a minutes walk to the Beach and leisurely 10 minute walk into the main town. So you'll have great access to amenities but be staying in a more relaxed / quieter part of Sitges. Didn't get to try the rooftop bar food but drinks were good. Regarding water in the room, I do think a complimentary bottle should be provided everyday, not just the first day. The rooftop pool unfortunately does only have 6 loungers. I'd remove some of the surrounding tables to make room for more. Views of the beach and town from here are stunning. The gym was well equipped for a hotel. The spa facilities were excellent and included a cold plunge pool, a relaxed pool for hanging out in, a larger pool for swimming, a steam room and dry sauna. If you book your stay directly via the hotel website, you'll get 1 hour complimentary access every day. The overall price for the hotel is on the higher side. The rooms, though spacious and in good condition, could do with a facelift. I've stayed in cheaper Hitlons and Crowne Plazas, though I acknowledge I was paying a premium for my stay in a central location during Sitges Pride. Overall I whole-heartedly recommend MiM to anyone wanting to stay in Sitges.

This was our third time staying at the hotel and we booked directly - but it seems that loyalty doesn't necessarily make any difference in this poorly maintained hotel. Rooms are tired and in desperate need of modernisation. The glass panels in the bathrooms had cracks, the curtains are old and dusty and don't block the light, and the furniture in general is tatty. (I was surprised though when the maid was cleaning the room next door and had the door open - that room seemed to have been recently modernised and the furnishings looked a lot better than in the one we were allocated.) The air-conditioning also doesn't work. We repeatedly complained about the stuffiness of our room at reception (as did others while we were there). The receptionist went to press some buttons on a panel in the corner at her desk to "fix" the issue. But nothing changed and we woke up sweating, despite us setting it to 16 degrees celcius every night. We gave up complaining in the end, as it was clear they had no interest in fixing the problem. Maybe it's an attempt by the hotel to save electricity costs. Overall, the hotel desperately needs investment. The response from management to previous comments indicates this is planned - but the question is, when? We've never seen any updates to the rooms we've been allocated in the years we've stayed there, so I wouldn't hold my breath for anything being fixed in the immediate future. It's a shame, as this has the potential to be a standout hotel given its location and rooftop pool.

Stayed here as it was near the beach and it was only an 8 minute walk to the central part of Sitges. Love the fact that it was less than a minute to the beach and had a back alley pathway that took 8-11 minutes to the central shopping area. Loads of food and drinks about the hotel. Enjoyed the drinks at the roof top bar, The Sky Bar. The view is amazing and very picturesque. I had a botella of Rosè, sat and watched the view. The rooms are ‘very used’ and would need an upgrade and upkeep but if you are in Sitges and just stayed in your room, then you’ll need a therapist. Walking around Sitges is amazing and necessary. The Hotel is affordable and has great service.

There is a disgusting smell around the hotel, and in the room it came up from the shower drain. In the day it was okay but I accidentally opened the shower one morning and threw up from the smell. My friend read about this problem on TripAdvisor, so apparently this is a general problem with the hotel. So if you are very odour sensitive, this hotel is not for you. The smell came all the way to the reception some days. Otherwise the hotel was great - breakfast superb and staff very helpful and friendly.

Came to Sitges for a wedding. This hotel had cute and comfortable rooms, location was perfect, skybar was beautiful, but the staff was top notch. Helpful, accommodating, responsive. Would definitely stay here again
