Avoid this hotel! My shower had a lot of mold in it, I had only noticed when I came back to the hotel at 8:30 in the evening to take a shower. I brought this up (and the musty smell in the bathroom) to the receptionist and he said that they had no more rooms available and to contact Booking.com. After some back and forth through Booking, the receptionist arrived at my door with a sponge & alcohol. However, as a solo woman, I did not feel comfortable with this as there was a lot of mold and it would have taken a long time to clean it all. I also probably wouldn’t have used it anyways since I was grossed out. I did not receive any type of compensation as the owner claimed that I was lying to just get a refund. I was being blamed for not bringing it up earlier. The receptionist also raised his voice at me multiple times saying that “you’re not sleeping in the shower” and “this is a one star hotel, what do you expect?” (I expect a clean and safe shower). Although I had wished I had noticed the mold sooner so I could have changed accommodations, I didn’t feel comfortable venturing out at 10 pm (the time after all the back and forth). In the end, I was given the choice of a refund only if I left. I understand not being given a full refund as I used the room to sleep, however, not being able to use the shower in an accommodation is unacceptable. I would have hoped the hotel understood this and provided appropriate compensation, rather than calling me a liar. TLDR: terrible hotel, terrible shower, terrible treatment from staff and owner. Save the stress and book somewhere else!

We have been traveling all over Italy for the last 9 days, and this is by far the worst experience I've had thus far. Thankfully, it was only one night. The reception desk was kind, and we were initially excited about the location being so close to the Pantheon. We dropped our bags to store and came back a few hours later to check in. Our bags were kindly moved to our room, but upon arrival, we were escorted to our room and immediately thought, "Wow. It's really warm in here." The attendant had already placed a plug-in desk fan in the room and mentioned he put it in the room because the ac was not good. (So clearly he knew there was an issue with the ac, yet failed to tell us before we checked in). It wasn't even bearable. Tried two fans, ac on, ac off, windows open, fans on... nothing helped. It had to be over 80°F in the room. (The plugs that were used for the fans were a hazard due to being wrapped in tape and overloaded, too). After sitting in the room for about 30 minutes, hoping it would cool down, it didn't. I went to the desk to ask what he could do to fix this, so he called his manager. I checked back in with him, and he said he was waiting for his manager to call back. We almost left for another hotel, but he made it sound like there was a solution he was waiting on, so we held out. We came back from dinner, and a new guy was at the desk. I asked him what the resolution was, and he said nothing. They were full, and there's nothing they can do. So we were stuck with the room. By this time, it was after 8 pm, and we just wanted to go to sleep since we had an early flight. The shower head also did not work. The water did not come out of the rainfall head. We had to only use the handheld part to shower. It's unfortunate that this stay was so bad, because the location is great. I wouldn't recommend this place and I'd never stay here again. There is nothing nice about the room at all. It's below average, feels unclean, and the lighting is terrible-- like hospital lighting.

I'm a bit baffled by the 5-star reviews. We stayed here, family of 4 (two boys, ages 14 and 9) in June, and this is very much a 1-star hotel, user ratings notwithstanding. A few good things: the location is great, right by the Pantheon and near many restaurants and cafes; it was nice to have all four of us in one room; and good air conditioning. But overall, the hotel is pretty shabby. Linens are threadbare, shower is dingy. The quad room was very small, especially the bathroom, and there were no drawers to unpack your clothes. One day, housekeeping did not come at all, and another day, housekeeping made the beds, but did not replenish soaps or shampoos. I had to go to the front desk to ask for more soap. They charge 3 euros if you want additional towels (they only change them every 3 days). There is no breakfast and no coffee/tea facilities in the room. And all of this for $400 a night. I have to believe there are better deals in Rome. We would not stay here again.

We chose this location for proximity to things we wanted to do, and for that, it couldn't be beat. We walked to everything in the heart of Rome and took a cab to the airport at the end of our trip (there is a taxi waiting area a short walk away). There is fantastic espresso and quick breakfast in the square to the left of the entrance and great food less than a five minute walk away. The front desk staff in the mornings was amazing at recommending visits to places we hadn't considered and very helpful with any questions we had about the area. The rooms were quiet- we couldn't hear anything from outside, and only ever heard our neighbors at the hotel coming back at night.

Clean rooms and great service! And the location can't be beat . . . One mile west to the Vatican and one mile east to the Colosseum. The Pantheon just a block away. Historic streets and sidewalk cafes all around you!

Our experience at Hotel Mimosa was excellent! The desk receptionists were all very helpful and friendly. The location was incredible, on a quiet side street close to a lot of the major sites. The rooms were clean and seemed to be recently renovated with AC (though the weather was nice so we didn’t use it). Even though our room was almost in the lobby, there really wasn’t too much noise during the night hours. The only thing I would say is that the wifi was sometimes spotty, so we relied on our cellular data.

Hotel Mimosa is a hidden gem. It is a hotel in a building with just one floor and about 10 rooms. The location is about 300 feet from the Pantheon and 5 minutes walk to Piazza Navona. It perfectly fit our needs as my two adult daughters insisted on separate beds. We organized the quad room and it had everything we needed. It had 2 twin beds and 1 double. The bathroom was a little small for 3 women, but adequately fit our needs. We had room for our huge luggage. There was a small refrigerator that we used for drinks and yogurt. Breakfast is not available but you are free to use their breakfast room with takeaway. They have a coffee vending machine by Illy that surprisingly served very tasty coffee for €1 or so. It is not a five star hotel but everything was clean. We were safe. No keys. Just a code to get in the 3 security doors to the room. Small elevator as it’s on the second floor (American second floor). ||The reception staff is AMAZING. We set up an airport pick up though the hotel. Frederico was patience and kind as we had a traumatic situation of a lost passport when we landed. He had to wait extra time. And then when we were leaving Rome from a different accommodation, the staff was exceptionally helpful in organizing another pick up for us back to Rome airport. We also mistakenly did not close our door fully one morning and the staff took care of it. They were awesome! Gave us wonderful recommendations for pasta, sandwiches, and tiramisu which all turned out beautifully. (Osteria da Fortunata, Antico Caffè, and Two Sizes)||I would highly recommend Hotel Mimosa!

Went there not expecting much. Let me tell you, it exceeded my expectations for sure. The receptionist was super friendly and explained everything to us with great detail, while also recommending us restaurants or places to go to. The location is amazing with everything being in a 5 minute walking distance including the Pantheon which is literally two steps away. There is a small plaza near the hotel that you can drink coffee. The rooms are not that exciting but they are for sure very clean. A cleaner comes in every day to clean and make the beds so don't worry about that. There is a store about 50 meters away from the hotel which you can buy every necessary stuff. Big thanks to Daniel, the receptibist.

Yelp
As other reviews have pointed out... this is definitely a 'budget hotel' (just look and feel those 'prison cots' my kids had to use as their beds for two nights!). The place was clean (although the main hallway - shared with actual tenants/businesses - reeked of cigarette smoke). Our room was clean. The bathroom seemed new. No frills or thrills (unless the bidet counts?!). Just a stone's throw from the Pantheon, across the street from a Michelin-starred restaurant, this hotel felt 'European' and a bit 'historic'. Only found out last-minute about local taxes/fees (which, to be fair, was a 'thing' at each place we'd stay throughout our vacation) - but they could only be paid in cash? Major issues: walls were paper thin and a family right next to us (with a toddler) made sure to have a lively conversation that went on late into the night. And without any type of fan or central air we had to open a window just to get some (cool) air and now it's deafening between the constant traffic (cars and walking tourists), busboys throwing out recycling at some ungodly hour, the polizia in hot pursuit, you name it. Probably our worst sleep while in Italy. (Cool/friendly staff, though.)

Yelp
Great budget hotel in a great area! You are in walking distance of all the great sites, only about 500 ft away from the Pantheon. Also, there are many great restaurants in the area. I would definitely stay here again!

Yelp
For an America finding this place was a little hard. It does not look like your typical hotel from the outside. It is also a shared space with residential apartments, the hotel does have its separate entrance in the building but the main entrance and the elevator is shared. Once you get past that this place is really really great. The price is amazing for the location. It is in the middle of Rome, easy walking distance to everywhere. Not to mention it is literally right behind the Pantheon. The guys at the desk were incredibly helpful any question we had they were more than happy to answer. You also get free breakfast that isn't bad. The room itself is nice and comfortable, nothing fancy but very adequate. I would highly recommend this hotel to any traveler.

Yelp
Nice budget hotel. It's in Rome centre, near the underground stop! Staff is helpful and friendly and rooms are simple yet clean and pretty. Recommended if you are searching for a cheap hotel in Rome :)
