Hotel Minho (Viana do Castelo, Norte) Hotel Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"It’s safe to say something big is officially happening in the Portuguese hospitality world. The twenty-teens (if that’s what we end up calling them) will be remembered (around here, at least) as the decade when everywhere you looked, all up and down the length of Portugal, a fabulously stylish modern minimalist boutique hotel seemed to be sprouting up out of nothing. Spanish-style building boom? Newfound taste for modernist architecture? Whatever it is, if it results in hotels like Viana do Castelo’s Hotel Minho, we’ll take it." - Tablet Hotels

I am at the hotel Minho at least 3/4 per year for the last decade and the hotel is top notch for business travels. The personnel is very friendly, flexible and courteous! They constantly try to improve their services, rooms and facilities. Can really recommend it!

It was a good hotel, with lots of things to do. The food was great. The rooms are very bad. I didn't like the mattress and the WiFi connection in the room.

Only went for lunch, but the grounds are extensive and are very well cared for.

The hotel is amazing. From decoration to nice outdoors and great swimming pools (outdoor and indoor). The staff is friendly. We have been in August and usually there is a lot of people everywhere but in this hotel we didn't feel cramped at all. |The pool bar has nice quick meals and at an okay price. The regular double room has a nice size and the bed was comfortable. |We will definitely come back in the future!

Let me take the time to write a review since i am very pleasantly surprised by this hotels friendlyness, quality and prices. I have been to many hotels in Portugal and this is my best experience so far. The rooms are clean, have great design, especially the bathrooms. I.made a mistake while booking online, but reception went out of their way to correct the problem. They even called an hour after checking in to see if everything was to my liking...excellent! Later that evening i went to the bar for drinks and a snack. Again very friendly service and the food was surprisingly good for a bar. I have nothing but good things to say about this hotel, the price of a room is actually more than reasonable. I will return here without a doubt to try the spa and have a weekend away here. I recommend.

I had a good stay here. Rooms are basic, but comfortable. The breakfast was good, with a decent variety. The spa is excellent, but kids can only use the indoor pool in the morning. There is a farm and stable in the premises, which was a pleasant surprise. I definitely recommend it!

Overall I stayed over for one night, and it wasn’t the best really; the service was good and all but the food in the restaurant was not really good, the breakfast as well it’s was awful. Giving people food that’s quit old to the point where mold started to form on the food. The pools reek of chlore. The spa services are good but most of the robes are ripped, you can’t make pre-reservations for a spa treatment. The rooms on the other hand not the best mainly because of the beds and the balcony. I will gladly give the spa treatment a 5 star review but the hotel needs to improve in many things for example the food, the service, the rooms, and especially the pools.

The hotel is centrally located near EN 13 , the train station is only a couple of miles away, so it's easy to get to. It's fairly close to the Minho River for eco activities like running, biking, boating, etc. The rooms appear to have been remodeled within the last couple of years, so they are clean and fresh. The rooms have a balcony and overlook the central pool area. The facilities look great, but I didn't get a chance to use them. The staff is helpful. On the negative side, the room lacks the convenience of a charging station for electronic devices. Or conveniently placed sockets. I had to move furniture to get to the socket next to the night table. As for the bathroom, the shower is a good size and has a bench, which I thought was a nice touch if the ladies want to shave their legs. That said the toilet and bidet are squeezed next to each other in a too small a space, and they made it worse by putting the toilet payer dispenser in an ackward location. Almost makes you sit slightly sideways cause of interference from the dispenser. But the thing I liked the least was the mattresses, too soft, I like more conventional mattress firmness.
