I always enjoy my stay at this conveniently located, elegant and charming hotel when I am visiting Hamburg. Staff are friendly and helpful and the rooms are comfortable and clean. It’s a pleasure to begin the day with breakfast in the beautiful front room. Tables are laid with linen and silver and the atmosphere is relaxing. I will be back.

Great neighborhood, the hotel is very tidy and clean. Its historical structure, and well collected and maintained pieces are really impressive. Every corner has a unique piece of crafted art.

Mittelweg is a very beautiful and quiet place near the city center. Low traffic, large sidewalks, great mansions built 100 years ago.|The grey area of this place is that a lot of these mansions, which originally belonged to Jews, were confiscated by the Nazis and given to Germans, without ever being returned to their owners or their descendants (those who survived) being compensated.|Hotel Mittelweg is one of these mansions, a beautiful building, with spacy, nice, well furnished rooms, very polite and friendly stuff and excellent breakfast in a room taken from another era. Quiet, relaxing, classy, full of memories from a period that should never return.

Hotel Mittelweg is a beautiful property in an equally beautiful part of Hamburg and I chose to stay there because of my love for historic buildings. However, there were certain shortcomings that lessened the pleasure of our stay. First off, the staff was very friendly, and the hotel is located near bus and subway stops, making trips to downtown Hamburg very easy and convenient.||However, the rooms are very dated. The bathroom was sparkling clean, but had a shower curtain (eww) and one of those shower/bathtub contraptions that seemed several decades old. In the bedroom, the carpet also covers part of the walls. Maybe this was stylish at one point; now it's a bit strange. I would not be much bothered by this, if it had not been for the SERIOUS lack of sleep quality. While the mattress was comfy, the room was way too hot. We had been given an attic room, which seems to store the summer's heat although it wasn't all that hot during our stay. On both nights we opened the windows for at least three hours and used the room fan - there was no relief. I barely slept the first night due to the stifling temperatures.||As a result, I definitely would not recommend this hotel. It's 2024 and despite the age of the building, some allowances for guest comfort should be made. I mentioned the issue to the nice lady during checkout. A gracious host would perhaps have reduced to final bill a bit, but there was nothing. Sad!

Amazing service with very attentive and helpful staff. Room although a bit on the smaller side it makes up for it with its extravagant decor. Great location within a very nice area although not in the city center very easily reachable within 15 minutes by bus. Breakfast with many options and served on a very ample and beautiful table setting! Overall a great experience. Most definitely will book for future Hamburg visits!

The most wonderful Downtown Abbey like place to stay while in Hamburg! My family and I enjoyed our stay a lot and wish to come back again:) Everyone working there was super friendly and kind, which made our stay even better! The breakfast was not only delicious, but beautiful. Also, upon request it was prepared to go, which was also sweet. The garden outside is amazing, taken care of and is a cozy place to enjoy a drink/a dish. Can definitely recommend! I wish I knew all of the names to whom I’d like to thank, but a special one goes to the kind woman in charge of breakfasts ❤️

The area is quiet, a few minutes walk from the Metro and about 10-15 minutes walk to restaurants. ||The hotel is a large property - sweeping staircase, interesting items of decor, paintings, etc. ||Welcome was warm and friendly. Breakfast was a good continental selection in an interesting room. ||It's a good place to stay but maybe not the best choice if you want to work into the evening. |Bedroom was small but fine. Wifi free and very good. ||Clean, interesting and good if you don't need the additional services offered by a chain. ||

The décor is old fashion, that is very true and in many other cirumstances I would have find it overwhelming, specially in the bedrooms but Mittelweg Hotel has its own quirky signature, its own character and that old fashion feeling just becomes inviting and charming. The building is located on a prime location, a fine district, so close to the outer Alster lake, and if you are a walker you will find very pleasnt to walk to town from the hotel either on the side walks where very big trees cover the streets while admiring the many amazing houses or by just going to the lake which is a few minutes walk and take the nature path all the way to town, absolutley stunning park and viwes. | |We had a three persons bedroom looking at the garden, the beds wehere comfortable, we had a living room too, the room and toilet were spotless. There are two lovely terraces, highly recommended to use time and sit there to rest and absorb the atmosphere, german spring can be a lovely thing. The garden is beautiful and must not be missed. The breakfast area is really charming and they take great pride in their service and how they present the area to the guest, the selection of food was perfect for us, north europe style so we are used to it.| |Our welcoming receptionist, I think his name was Till was extremley helpful and easy to communicate with. He left a very good imprssion on us with his attentive and friendly manner as we had lots of questions. Check out was smooth and well done.| |For only 10 euros a day we were allowed to park our car inside the property, so we used public transport at times, extremely efficient and affordable to get in and out the city, the buss stop is really close to the hotel. |||Overall money well spent. | ||

Yelp
Elegant hotel with aging decorations and facilities. Disappointing breakfast with no cooked eggs. Friendly and helpful reception staff, but elderly server in the breakfast room should learn to smile at guest. Tiny single room, comfortable bed. Quite a busy road, so room at the front quite noise.

Yelp
This is a gorgeous little hotel! When I entered the hallway it felt like I was going back in time; the decoration and furnishings are all georgian in style and very plush! My bedroom was all dark wood and felt very rich, which is what I would have had to be to drink anything out of the mini bar. EUR12 for a glass of wine!! The bed was extremely comfortable and the peacefulness of the place made sure I had a great nights sleep. There is no restaurant for dinner only breakfast which is a real shame as it was a delight to dine in such beautiful surroundings. The massive chandelier in the dining room is wasted at breakfast time! Unfortunatley I have to say that it wasn't really suitable as a 'business' hotel but I would highly recommend it for a romantic break!
