My wife and I absolutely love staying at this hotel.||This was our 20th time for our traditional annual holiday in Rome. The Modigliani has remained consistently excellent. First of all, the hotel itself is ALWAYS clean as a whistle, with tasteful decor and very comfortable rooms. Complementing its spic and span appearance, the staff is very helpful, sincerely friendly, warm and engaging. Nothing is too much trouble for them! In addition, they serve a delicious and hearty breakfast.||It’s no wonder, then, that we are always very happy to stay there every time we visit Rome! We intend to keep doing this, as it enhances our holiday experience.||Its position is also very ideal, in a street radiating from the Piazza Barberini. A stone’s throw from the Spanish steps and via Barberini.||We wholeheartedly recommend this Roman hotel, which exudes charm, character and comfort.||Alla prossima, Hotel Modigliani!||Grazie per la vostra accoglienza calorosa!

We stayed at this wonderful hotel for 4 nights. They arranged pick up from the airport which was seamless and all organised via the hotel. The staff are all excellent nothing is to much trouble. In an excellent part of Rome to enjoy the whole city. The staff suggested where to eat and both restaurants were great and close and reasonably priced. Would definitely recommend and will be returning ourselves

We booked this hotel for a two night stop over before picking up our Mediterranean Cruise from the Port of Civitavecchia. We were absolutely thrilled with our choice! We booked the Superior Panoramic Top Floor room as we were a party of 3 adults and a 6 year old , the room was Amazing !! Spotlessly Clean and with a View over the City to Die For!! it truly felt as if we were in a film set, we didn’t want to leave! It was extremely hot during our stay in August, but the air conditioning worked excellenty! It was so good coming back from a days exploring to a beautiful cool, peaceful haven! . Hotel is perfectly located for all the sites, we walked 10mins to The Trevi Fountain , about 5 to the Top of The Spanish Steps , and there are so many Bars and Restaurants in the area , we were spoiled for choice!|Breakfast was served in a Beautiful Dining area and was a lovely choice with as much tea and coffee as you can drink! Definitely recommend ordering the scrambled eggs! They were lovely! . My Daughter was very tired on the first morning and the Waitress very kindly gave us a tray and let us take her breakfast up to the room, which she enjoyed sat on the balcony taking in those Amazing views! |Thank you to Everyone at Hotel Modigliani for making our First Visit to Rome such a special and Memorable one! Your Hotel truly is a hidden Gem! And hopefully in the not too distant future we will return !

This hotel is in a great central location and we were able to walk to all the local tourist attractions from it, Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, Colosseum etc with a baby in a pram. The hotel itself was clean and tidy and had a reception area that you could sit in any time of the day. Leaving the hotel you have to give your key in, and actually this was helpful as it meant you didn’t run the risk of loosing it when out. I left jewellery etc sitting out in the room and nothing went missing at all. The only thing that reception could make more clear on check in is breakfast times and location (as we were not told). There is a sign at reception with the WIFI code which is helpful. Reception staff whilst pleasant weren’t overly friendly but this could be a culture thing. There are steps down to reception and the breakfast room with no lift access or ramp so this is something to consider as these parts are not disability or pram friendly (unless there is alternative access I am not aware of). ||The bedrooms whilst compact were always clean and tidy and the bed was made everyday by cleaning staff. The bed was actually very comfortable and the bathroom was replenished with towels and toilet roll everyday. Our room had doors that opened and looked out to the Main Street, other rooms to the back of the hotel had mini balconies. ||The continental breakfast was good, the eggs were lovely and there was a good selection of baked goods. The staff were very good with our wee man and always interacted with him at breakfast. The juices were nice, there was always lovely fresh fruit and there were a few cereals to choose from. Some of the offerings were a bit random (like peas and carrots in the hot food section, mushrooms and tomatoes would be better) but overall it didn’t take away from breakfast. The hot water for tea wasn’t hot on occasions and the staff said they couldn’t get hot water from the kitchen but it was fine. The only real disappointment was not being able to get milk heated for our child. One lovely staff member did try in the evening, however a man on reception had an argument with him about it as the milk spilt (whilst I was standing at the kitchen entrance) and it really wasn’t the time or place to do so as it made me feel very awkward as a guest. ||Monchello (hope I’ve spelt your name right) the evening chef/bar man really made our stay. He was the nicest, most welcoming man and got to know us all over the days that we stayed. He always greeted us, always had time to ask how our day was and always interacted with everyone in our party. He truly made our stay in the hotel, and is an asset to the hotel! ||Overall, a lovely stay, I would stay here again, and I think it is a great hotel to stay in for exploring Rome.

Stayed here for 3 nights in one of the garden rooms.||The hotel is in a great location on a quiet street.||Our room was a good size, spotlessly clean and very comfortable. It had a small outside area and although there was no view this didn’t bother us, you’re in Rome so for me I didn’t spend much time in the room other than to relax and get ready. The water in the mini bar is charged, I didn’t mind paying but 2euro a bottle so you may want to fill your own fridge, we would have expected this to be complimentary but this is a slight negative and understand that cost savings need to be made.||Reception staff were always very welcoming and booked taxis when needed.||Lovely dining room for breakfast, although not the biggest selection the food was lovely.||There’s a lovely seating area, not sure about bar opening times as it only seemed to be open once but this could have been our timing.||Quirky artwork around the hotel which I loved.||All in all this hotel was perfect for what we wanted and the price we paid and would gladly return.||You will always see bad reviews on Trip Advisor, don’t let them put you off.||Try the restaurant down from the hotel, great food.

Terrible stay! Beware of the images, they will catfish you. No help whatsoever during check in, no information about wifi or breakfast, or points of interest closest to the hotel. Our room gave dungeon vibes and was located outside of the actual hotel building with a separate entrance that said "apartment", this would have been nice if the room wasn't so dark and didn't smell like mold. The walls are also really paper thin and you could hear the next door neighbors using the restroom (yes, you can hear everything!) Unfriendly staff that seem annoyed when you have questions about anything. I'm also pretty sure our room was haunted since there were only the two rooms on that side and we heard knocking throughout the night. Unless people didn't sleep and got a kick out of scaring others, I'm pretty sure it's haunted. The most annoying part of the stay is that everytime you leave the hotel you have to check your key with the front desk and collect it again when you return. Doesn't make me feel at ease knowing anyone can just ask for your room key and go in and take your stuff. Many great places to stay in Rome, but I don't think this one of them. I will not be returning here and will not be recommending it.

Recommended. Next time, I'll book the same place. Great location, close to historic atraction. The price is atractive. Rooms are spacious and clean. Hotel is not new and modern, but is climatic. I was in the first days of January.

This hotel gives you easy access to the main attractions in Rome, it is a bit of a hill walk when returning after a day out. We stayed here for three nights.|The room was small but well lit and decorated. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom wasn't too bad in space. Most hotels in Rome are like this, I think this was one of the better ones. The staff on reception were great, very good English, explained everything well, there is a lift and is very well decorated. The restaurant was lovely, we only used this for breakfast which was great - I am a Coeliac and need Gluten free food, they did this very well, dinner in there didn't look very inviting, no atmosphere for the evenings.|Easy walk to plenty of great restaurants and coffee.

Yelp
Very Nice Boutique Hotel, on a quiet street. Three minutes down hill to The Piazza Barberini with Taxi stand and Metro station. It's close to Spanish Steps/Trevi Fountain (15-20 minutes), but folks with mobility issues, be careful, some is uphill, but doable. Staff is efficient and friendly, breakfast is great, my room was comfortable, large bathroom, good elevator. Sunday Mass in Englisg (10AM) at Saint Isidore's College Chapel, 5 minutes walk from hotel Enjoyed our stay!

Yelp
They told me that they did not have a room available so I booked elsewhere. They charged my credit card for a no-show. It was clearly their mistake and they refused to refund me. There are so many ethical businesses/hotels in Rome. I recommend going elsewhere.

Yelp
Modigliani was a nice hotel to meet our needs while in Rome. It isn't a huge fancy hotel BUT our rooms were comfortable, staff was always friendly, great location, and breakfast downstairs daily was a nice bonus. Location: 5 stars. Close to the Spanish steps and other tourists attractions. It is also down a small street so it was quiet and peaceful. The perfect balance of intimate and secluded but close enough to walk towards the main hubs/areas. Rooms: cozy and on the small side. These rooms are not grand but they did the job. Everything was clean and organized in the room. Free WiFi, hot water, and cool air should you need it (we needed it). Service: 5 stars. Everyone was beyond friendly and helpful. They maintain this hotel very well. Felt safe and knew we were in good hands throughout our stay. Breakfast: just wanted to add/speak to the little bonus of free breakfast downstairs which was a highlight every morning. Self service small buffet set up. Surprised at the spread of cold meats, cereal, fruit, and delicious fresh juices. They also make you eggs on request. Nice little perk and a money saver every morning.

Yelp
We were supposed to visit in April 2020 but due to the pandemic we could not enter Italy. This hotel refused to refund our money and instead gave us a voucher however, 2 yrs later much changes and we are no longer able to visit but the hotel still refuses to refund our 386 euros even though no services were used. This is unacceptable and very frustrating. Don't use this hotel for your travels as they have poor business practices. Teresa Walkovich

Yelp
My husband and I stayed here on a trip to Rome and we were very happy with our stay. It was very close walk to all major things in Rome, as well as tons of places to eat near by. The rooms were clean, although quite small which is normal for Rome. The price was great, especially for being so close to the Spanish Steps, and it was easy to get in and out of because it was on a side street which allowed for the rooms to be quite. They had a small little restaurant that had a couple games in and the served a wide variety of drinks. If we went to Rome again, we would definitely come back.

Yelp
This is a wonderful, small, clean, well priced, great location yet quiet; updated and remodeled including double pane windows, our room has a balcony and bath ( they all may?). A block and a half from a central metro stop, 5-10 minute walks to trevi fountain and Spanish steps, great restaurants in and all around hotel!

Yelp
generally a good experience (4 nights October 2014) - clean, great location, price ok, small room as expected - only two suggestions or complaints - we had their breakfast 4 mornings in a row and it was the same with only variation - a little more change would have been welcome along with better scrambled eggs - but the real complaint was the WIFI -- as we use Apple iphones, it wasn't a snap to connect based on their system, but the real problem was that every time you left, you had to go through all the user/password sign up to get back on - don't understand why they have such a complex and antiquated way - not at all simple and for us a pain in the a$#. Otherwise a great stay
