This place is absolutely amazing! If you are looking for vintage Colombian atmosphere then this is the place. Great staff and customer service. The staff will make you feel right at home. The owner took it upon herself to help aid my sunburn with one of her freshly picked aloe plants. What a sweet woman. The location is ideal just 3 minutes away from the beautiful square. The complimentary breakfast is also wonderful. I greatly recommend this beautiful hotel to all who would like to enjoy their fruits of labor in Villa de Leyva.

This old estate holds a secret in its back: a swimming pond with water so fresh tthat naturally flows from the mountains. Swimming there is...hard to express with words, it's being imersed in very clean fresh water. Just because of that and because of the kindness of the people who run the business, I recommend this place, but don't expect much of the rooms in terms of comfort: the rooms are small, the furniture is old and by all means, do not expect flat screen TV or a dock for your i Pod. Don't bother having breakfast there because within a few blocks you'll find fantastic bakeries and cafes that will wow you. Just take it as a retreat, absolutely calm and peaceful. Oh, and people there treat you with love. That counts much to me.

I had been here the first time in 1989 and since then in a few occasions over the years. The tremendous charm does not wear off and the entire complex remains a wonderful place off mere hospitality. |Very engaged staff offer the same regular breakfast every morning. However their kindness and the place itself makes it worth staying there. A little improvement on the building (e.g the bathrooms) would not be harmful. Despite the afore mentioned we will always return.|Have a great stay in that wonderful city

The grounds are very pretty and full of history. Our room, no 18, was pretty simple, incl the bathroom, so don't expect too much. Arrival at the hotel was a bit disorganised as nobody answered the doorbell and we had 1 small and 1 big towel for 2 persons in the room. It was solved. You pay for the place and the pool, rather. The natural swimming pool is wonderful, really an added value. It is not quite clear what the complex of buildings and grounds actually is, there is the ho(s)tel, there are people living there, and there were teenagers coming over for a swim. Is it semi-open? I understood it used to be. Breakfast is not included, yet there is a nice, small breakfast/lunch café on site (open 9 am so a bit late for brekkie, till 3 pm), as we'll as a nice hotel in the plaza at 200 m with a very good breakfast from 8-11 am at 55.000 pesos, well worth it.

The hotel is beautiful, huge and has an incredible history. It makes you connect yourself with the nature and it's very close to the central square (main plaza). Don Claudio is the best host and his wife makes the best Venezuelan breakfast. They both were super kind and helped us with recommendations (activities, restaurants, etc). My friends and I are coming back soon!

To have made it to Villa de Leyva the odds are that anyone considering this hotel likes a more adventurous vacation. This hotel fits that perfectly. The whole complex surprises with its age and character. The rooms are all unique and enhance the overall experience. The hotel does lack some creature-comforts such as reliable plumbing and air conditioning but these area minor inconveniences for such a cool place.

Very cool old place to stay. The area is super quiet and relaxing. The pool is unique. Good hot water in the bathroom. It's close enough to downtown to be convenient and far enough away to be very quiet. I booked a room through Airbnb ("Habitación colonial casona patrimonio arquitectón"). Currently they are not at capacity and have very few staff, so if you need a lot of attention it might not be a good option.

Nice place. I was just visiting. It has a very beautiful natural pool fed but a crystal clear stream that comes out of the rocks
