Unfortunately, our one-night stay at Hotel Monastère was overshadowed by an unacceptable hygiene issue. On the morning of our departure, we found two cockroaches in our room (Room 215), one even crawling on the bed. We took photos as proof (see attached image).|We had very little time before check-out, so we didn’t report it to the front desk in person – instead, we emailed the hotel shortly after. While the hotel did respond, the tone of the replies was more focused on what we supposedly did wrong (not informing reception immediately, not showing the insects) than on sincerely addressing the issue.|Cockroaches in a hotel room are not a minor inconvenience – this is a serious cleanliness and maintenance failure. The offered 25% refund did not reflect the severity of the situation, and the lack of understanding in the follow-up communication made it worse.|We expected a much more professional and guest-focused handling of this incident. Definitely not the experience we had hoped for.
