Hotel Mondial

The whole area seems unsafe and very dirty full of strip clubs and erotic stores. The hotel itself has a facade of being nice and the pictures seem fine. But the actual rooms were across the street from the main entrance and seemed to be just random rooms in a run down apartment. To get to my room I took an old elevator up 6 floors and on the last floor the glass door of the elevator was shattered but still held in place. Then I had to unlock a big metal door walk up some more stairs then to another metal door and some other stairs. It felt very unsafe and unprofessional. This is not a hotel.

If you're looking for a cheap place to use as a base to explore Dusseldorf, I'd definitely recommend here. It's a 5 minute walk from the Central train station and within walking distance to Dusseldorf centre too. The staff are friendly and rooms are comfortable and clean. Although there was quite the unidentified ominous smell in one of our rooms. If you want to save some cash, here is the place for you!

Plus=hotel is walking distance from Altstadt and close to public transportation (Unbanh and Hauptbanhof);room was clean and bathroom also. Minus:hotel is quite old with worn fornitures.My bed (single) was narrow and not confortable.Room in general was small,I had difficulty in opening and closing doors and moving around the room

Spacy clean rooms, renovated bathrooms, excellent bed linen and towels. Huge variety quality food breakfast and homemade dinner dishes prepared by Nopi and her kitchen aide. Moreover, Adrianna, the manager is exceptionaly helpful in contrast to the night reception clerk. All in all, I would definitively recommended it ro all travellers seeking for value for money accommodation.

The room was fine for what you pay for it. Location is good but we had to spend 28 euro's a day for parking.

Great location, staff are friendly, not the most luxurious rooms. But for the price are fairly reasonable

Clean, rooms are a bit old style but it does not mean they are bad, quiet and good location. I would come back.

People are friendly, rooms awful. One stinks of vomit (carpet is definately not cleaned) and one has a broken heating so the room is steaming...

I was late signing up for Prowein and this was one of the few hotel options available to me. Compared to some online reviews and photos I was pleasantly surprised with my three nights at Mondial. Compared to American standards, indeed Mondial is quite simple and "no frills." However, the room, albeit tiny, was tidy and functional. It reminded me of a nice college dorm room. Bathroom again small but great. Wifi perfect. My room came with a simple breakfast. The location was convenient to a number of restaurants and train transportation. The highlight was the staff, who were all friendly and amazingly helpful throughout my stay. I would return to Mondial again without hesitation.
