Hotel Monte Cristo

This restaurant in Kotor was such a nice surprise! 💛 The place has a cozy old-town vibe — stone walls, narrow alleys, and friendly staff that make you feel right at home. The black risotto was rich and full of seafood flavor — definitely a must-try if you like something unique. 🦑 The fish dish with lemon and tomato sauce was light and refreshing, while the fried dough dessert sprinkled with sugar was simple but so satisfying — crispy outside, soft inside. 🍋🍩 Everything felt homemade and full of local charm. Overall, great food, chill atmosphere, and a lovely spot to enjoy a slow meal in Kotor 😋

We had a really lovely stay in the Monte Cristo, we were in the attic room which we really liked, it was clean and spacious with a comfortable bed. We did have some issues with bad smells from the bathroom drain, placing the bath mat over the drain seemed to help, but probably needs some attention.||Reception staff were really kind and helpful, the restaurant staff we found to be a little mixed. Our only real complaints about the hotel related to the restaurant area - hotel guests have the option of a buffet breakfast or eggs in various forms. Non resident customers having breakfast had a much broader breakfast menu including pancakes, filled croissants etc. We felt that hotel guests should be offered the full breakfast menu. Several times we felt that the paying breakfast guests were getting a better level of service than us as hotel guests, two mornings we weren't asked at all if we wanted anything cooked from the egg menu. |One evening we wanted to sit at a table outside to have a drink, it was around 9pm, the staff member told us it was dinner time so drinks only weren't possible. When I advised we were hotel guests they said, oh, okay then but somewhat reluctantly. Also tried to remove a glass of beer from our table that hadn't been finished.||There is some noise at night from the bars downstairs, but we found it didn't disturb us. There is a window on the landing by the attic room, closing that makes a big difference. ||Location is great in the Old Town, we loved staying there and using it as a base to explore the immediate area. Minor restaurant issues aside we would definitely recommend the Monte Cristo to others.

This hotel is absolutely beautiful and the staff is lovely and helpful. However, the location is very loud at night. It is right between a jazz club and somewhere playing house music with people yelling and dancing in the streets. From our room it felt like we were right out with them until early in the morning.||Additionally, our shower didn’t drain well and the bathroom was tiny (even by European standards).

The hotel is a beautiful place to stay in old town, Kotor. The only issue we had was that our room was directly above the jazz club with live music till around 1 AM. Friendly people to work with.

I only ate food here, it was delicious. I had the tuna salad, made with fresh tuna! My sister ordered the fish of the day, it came as a whole fish. Our server saw she didn't know how to clean it, and cleaned it for her, which was much appreciated! Excellent service.

I had an absolutely wonderful experience at Hotel Monte Cristo in Kotor and left with the best impression of this hotel. From the moment I arrived, I was impressed by every aspect of my stay. The staff truly made this experience special - they were incredibly welcoming, always smiling, pleasant, and readily available to help with anything I needed. Their warm hospitality created such a positive atmosphere throughout my visit. The breakfast was delicious and high quality, offering a great variety of fresh options to start the day perfectly. The hotel itself was impeccably clean, with attention to detail evident everywhere you look. The location couldn’t be better - perfectly situated for exploring Kotor and enjoying everything this beautiful destination has to offer. I would absolutely return to Hotel Monte Cristo without hesitation if I visit Kotor again. This was truly an outstanding experience from start to finish. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area - everything deserves a perfect 10/10 rating. You won’t be disappointed!

Tiny bathroom and main bedroom. Unbelievably noisy. Next to bars that played loud music until 1 am. Everyone staying seemed to be making the same complaint. Kotor Old Town is very busy and has an active night scene. Breakfast OK but horrid omelettes which were like unseasoned pancakes. Friendly staff.

THE BEST MEAL IN KOTOR! Incredible food, amazing service and the most picturesque view over the bustle from the 1st floor terrace. Melina our waitress was brilliant and really went above and beyond to make sure our experience was perfect. Not really one for reviews but this restaurant is not to be slept on if you’re in Kotor, have the fish plate for two, thank me later.
