Hotel Montelirio

My partner and I had a great view of the bridge from our room. Our room was quiet and isolated from the bustle of the rest of the hotel. There aren’t a lot of communal spaces in the hotel. We did get a drink in the lounge but you need to ask the receptionist for the drinks. The restaurant had a lovely view. It was warm enough to sit on the patio with the heaters at night.

Good central location overlooking the gorge and bridge. Restaurant and terraces have great views (though not all rooms). There is a small pool but otherwise facilities are limited. Breakfast was good and has the view. Room was comfortable and quiet.

We had a very pleasant stay here over Xmas 2025. Arrived Xmas eve around 6pm in our old Honda Jazz, which was small enough to leave outside a small shop where the road widens. (There is slightly more room around 20 yards further on). We had booked overnight parking and reception staff were ready to take the car keys and park it inside a secure gated garage around 40 yards away. I would have no hesitation leaving my treasured JBA Falcon here. We were allocated room 001 which has a fantastic view of the bridge and valley through double glazed doors with Juliet balcony. And we could hear the stream and waterfall below, even with closed windows, which never stops. This made me imagine our sleep would be disturbed, but I was so wrong. There must be something therapeutic / reassuring when sleeping with the sound of a waterfall in the background. The room is a good size and the bathroom larger than average. There is a modern TV in the room but we found it was small by today’s norms. It could also be positioned better if it was placed on top of the set of drawers. This space was occupied by a kettle & cups. (No milk for English tea and limited tea bags. I liked the mint tea). The bed was comfortable. The first night was cold, which is unusual for Spain, but Ronda is in the mountains around 1000m above sea level. Too little bedding and I hadn’t figured out the heating controls. See photo for settings we discovered. Our first evening meal on Xmas eve had a limited choice menu. Squid or Lamb for mains. We had the lamb, which was accompanied by boiled potatoes and veg. The star of this meal being a chocolate fondant. This first evening meal was in the lower (breakfast) restaurant. We thought breakfast was a bit limited. Mainly due to not finding the fried eggs in the Bain-Marie until the end of our second breakfast. It’s in the far corner. By our last breakfast we found bacon in it as well. Xmas day evening meal was held in the upper restaurant. It was cold and I had to wear my coat zipped up! There was a quite extensive menu on offer. The prawn starter was a good choice and we could have easily shared it. I was disappointed with my steak and the jacket potato was absent. I tried my partner’s duck and found it tough. On Boxing Day we ventured out in our car and delighted to see both Acinipo and Sentinel de Bodegas. About 30 minutes drive. This hotel has the most amazing location and the kindest staff. Our view of the gorge was one of a kind. Our dealing with the reception team was first rate. The hotel itself is a beautiful building. All it needs is a bit of updating without spoiling the charm to be perfect. Rooms really need a refresh and updated amenities.

There’s something not right about this hotel. The staff are lovely and the location, obviously, is superb, but the condition of the hotel is not 4 star. Our room had a bathroom that had been repaired very shabbily, one of the power points didn’t work, the bed head was unattached to the wall, and poor sound proofing. The pool area dirty and poorly maintained. The pool itself hadn’t been filtered for quite some time. Four stars?: maybe once, but not now. The staff were terrific. Indeed, the receptionist came to our room to try to fix the bed, but it was not repaired during our stay.

Very nice hotel with views of the bridge and gorge. We had a wonderful time in Ronda. We Especially appreciated the extra help we received from Lola at reception. Her efforts made our trip a complete success! Thank you Lola!!

I was excited about staying in this Moroccan inspired room with stunning views overlooking the gorge and of the Puente Nuevo bridge. You’d enjoy it if you don’t mind no AC, no fan and bathroom doors that offer no privacy because of the pierced detail. Hotel staff were efficient in taking care of parking our car and returning it, booking dinner etc. The promised bottle of water was just their own tap water in a reusable bottle. How very green of them. Restaurant was rubbish. Chef served raw chicken to me, at least I think it was chicken, could have been a mouse, who knows. Was very unpleasant but that’s a separate review.

The most friendly and helpful staff. The most beautiful antique room with all the amenities and the most stunning view of the bridge and the Gorge. One of the most amazing sunset views I've ever had! I only wish we could have spent a few more nights...

My wife and I stayed two nights in early Sep 2023, in a Double Room with Views (#103). View was stupendous over the ravine and famous bridge. Bed comfort was heavenly. Towels and bed linen were luxurious. Location unbeatable due to view and ease of walking to sights and restaurants. Service was very good. Parking provided at safe site located about a 5 minute walk away. When unloading/loading our vehicle, we did not park directly in front of hotel, but about 20 meters past the hotel at a small intersection (in front of bldg #16) so as not to block the narrow road.

What a view! Get a room with a view that even has a little balcony to step out on. Though, the lights in Ronda on the bridge mean closing blinds at night. The whole hotel is fancy and elegant. It feels great to be in and just super fancy but for a great price for that fancy. Enjoy the tiny pool meant for enjoying and not swimming. Bar service is pricey and you get a small glass of wine for 4 euro and Nestea for 3 euro, but you get it delivered! Before you go to the pool, get a towel at the front desk. Wifi was broken during our stay. Very helpful front desk. Doors lock at night so ring bell.

This is a wonderful hotel. We arrived December 20 and stayed in the Marakesh room. The service was delightful in the restaurant and we enjoyed our stay. It did rain but we managed to walk around Rhonda. This hotel and restaurant has an amazing view of the gorge and the Rhonda Bridge. This hotel is very elegant and is centrally located to many places of interest.
