️ Please be very careful with your valuables when staying at this hotel!
My friend stayed here last week. The accommodation environment was quite good, but unfortunately, I lost my gold bracelet during my stay.
On the second day, since we were going out for a kimono experience, I put both my gold bracelet and a jade bracelet together in a small opaque pouch inside my suitcase. The suitcase was laid open between the two beds. We stayed for one more night and then checked out.
Because we were extremely tired from traveling, I didn’t check the suitcase before leaving. When I arrived at the next hotel and opened my luggage to wear my bracelet, I found that my gold bracelet was missing — only the jade bracelet remained. I clearly remember placing both bracelets together in the same pouch, and I never opened my suitcase during the transfer between hotels.
After analyzing the situation with my friends, we strongly suspected that the bracelet was taken while the room was being cleaned. I immediately contacted the hotel and even returned to Kyoto the next day to file a police report. However, the hotel replied that there was no proof the bracelet was lost there, and the cleaner who serviced the room had already gone home. The only thing they offered was to accompany me to search the room again. We left our email and phone number, but no further assistance was provided afterward.
Overall, please be extra cautious with your valuables if you decide to stay here.
In my personal experience, Japan doesn’t feel as safe as it used to be a few years ago, so it’s always better to stay alert and take extra care of your belongings.
