Hotel Monterey La Soeur Fukuoka

Wonderful hotel, location the best! Right near everything. The beds are so comfortable, the best pillows ever ( soft and very firm). Size of the room is fine, very quiet, great bathroom and you can request to open te window because it can be warm in the room. Very comfortable hotel in all, we stayed 6 nights.

Worst hotel in my Japan trip. Its heater only in the room and extremely stuffy. So we requested to unlock the window, to the extremely loud street noises. Its either noise or heat…so we chose noise. And didnt sleep well. Beds are hard and rooms r tiny for 3 bedders. Cant open luggages.Why i continue stayg is because Nissan rental is just beside. Sigh! But i will never come back to this hotel again if i ever visit Fuk, unless it is summer and i can use the aircon.  Location is near the huge malls and Tenjin Station.

The property is centrally located nearby to the main shopping area and subway station. There is a 7-11 attached to the property which is very convenient and reasonable car park options nearby. The room feels a bit aged, was not clean enough. We felt quite suffocated and extremely warm in December night to which the staff offered very limited options such as open the window and switch off the air conditioning as it there is only central heating available and no changes to the pre set temperature could be made. In short - Good location but not a property to recommend or return.

I posted earlier because i have already booked 2 nights before and 2 nights after my drive in Kyushu and UNFORTUNATELY chosen this hotel as my base in Fuk. BIGGEST mistake of my entire trip. In summary, while the location is excellent, the rooms for 2 adults and 1 child are tiny with no space to unpack and pack luggage. They only hv heater for winter and makes the room super stuffy to sleep. We ended up opening the window to the massive street noises the entire night. The 4 nights of sleep were torturous and we didnt rest well. Worst hotel in my entire kyushu trip. I couldnt change rooms, as expected, because they claimed all rooms are fully booked.  Such a disappointment and i should have spent my money on other hotels in Fuk. My entire holiday is ruined because of the lack of sleep. The beds are hard and forget abt wearing their yukatas as they are super stiff like starch. Please read my review and look at my photo before deciding on this hotel. I was misled by all the other glowing reviews.

4-star hotel located within minutes from Tenjin station and malls, eateries, and public transport. There's also a 7-11 attached to the hotel, very convenient. Do take note that there is a tax to be paid upon checking into the hotel. We booked a double room and triple room for a 1 week stay. The rooms are smaller than what you would imagine, and are quite dated. I would not recommend the triple room, it was a very uncomfortable stay. It was almost impossible to open 3 luggages, and the size of the room was far too small to accommodate 3 adults. The double room was still manageable. There were old stains in the tub and on the sheets. Basic amenities are provided, as well as pajamas and room slippers. In winter, there is no a/c, but you can request for them to unlock the window for some ventilation. We had to keep the window open throughout our stay or else it would become quite stuffy. The downside was, it became quite noisy at certain hours of the night due to the outside noise. Would recommend this hotel only for its location, and nothing else.

We were travelling to Fukuoka for a pleasure trip and were booked into this hotel recommended by the agent JTB over more superior hotels in the Tenjin district in Fukuoka City. It is officially billed as a 4 star hotel but immediately apparent that the other 4 star hotels within walking distance have bigger and better facilities. The standard twin room here is a little more than 20 sq. metres and the bathroom is dingy and poorly lit to say the least. There is no drawer inside or outside the room closet to put garments so a guest has to live out of the suitcase. The shower curtain over the bathtub is so short and flimsy it is impossible not to wet the floor while taking a shower unless one is squatting in the tub. Housekeeping has not bothered to clean behind the desk and cupboards so globs of dust and dirt are clearly visible. The buffet breakfast is one of the poorest quality one can experience in a 4 star hotel anywhere in Japan. The only 4 star experience we’ve had is the room rate.

Had a pleasant stay. Everything was perfect from concierge handling my car to be auto parked in hotel to greetings and responding to our needs. The bed was comfort and we were most glad to be given a free upgrade to a higher floor. Thank you so much.

Excellent Location with many eateries and shopping nearby. The room is spacious and clean. Yatai stalls are just below the hotel so it excellent for supper & get to experience yatai style dining.

Love the location (Tenjin) and there area a few yaitai running downstairs at night or you can walk to other huge group of yaitai easily within 10 mins walk. Room is standard but i wish they will have more practical facilities such as microwave and convenience stores. Will stay somewhere else next time.
