Hotel Monterey Nagasaki fulfills one rule for all hotels, just like the real estate market: location location location.
It is right next to the port, so if you want to go to Hashima Island (a must see when you are in Nagasaki) it is just a 5 minutes' walk.
If you want to go to the peace museum, it is only half an hour away walking and taking the tram. And it is only 860 ¥ in taxi from Nagasaki train Station.
It is a really cheap hotel and very very clean. Of course, in that hotel, as in any other hotel in Japan that is not 300 dollars a night, you will feel like a giant in the room. No major problem with the wifi, I could get some work done even though it got slow sometimes.
I strongly recommend the Nagasaki Monterey Hotel for your next holidays in Nagasaki. As a tip, they also sell the day pass for trams, best value if you'll take it more than 4 times in a day.
