To begin with, the owner, Carlos, is an outstanding person and a great help. He's always willing to assist with any travel information and making connections. We have been at his hotel three times and plan to go again next year. The price is right and the rooms are clean and hospitable. If you like howler and white faced monkeys, you will see them passing through every day in the treetops. The hotel is 100% safe. The beach and all the activity is just two minutes down the street. Although it's quiet at night, you can hear the sound of the waves breaking in the distance. My partner Nancy and myself always conclude our visit to Costa Rica by spending a week at the Pacifico.

this is a small nice hotel owend and operated by locals (which is important in my opinion..) rooms are comfortable and clean, with hot shower and AC which is not that common in montezuma in other place around this price. staff is so nice and helpfull, there is a nice balcony where you can eat the free breakfast or just read and look at the trees and see monkeys and birds! its close to everything but really quiet. great value for money.

We came back to visit Carlos at Hotel Montezuma Pacifico for the 3rd time! This time we brought 12 people.it was like coming home..We traveled to Costa Rica for three weeks, spending the last 13 days with Carlos. Each year improvements are made. Carlos takes great pride in his property. There are now a few rooms with kitchenettes.. He is currently building an outdoor grilling area, it is very nice. They now serve a light breakfast in the air conditioned kitchen. It feels nice to have constant security at the doors to this property. The beds are comfortable and clean. We love the two to three rooms outside down to the right. You can come back later and hang without disturbing other guests. Oh ya,,we "adopted".a feral cat we named Carlito. He is white with a bit of grey. We bought canned cat food and fed him in the morning and at night. He would only eat by our room on the end. ..We bought every can of cat food in the store and left them with Carlos. He promised to feed Carlito . He even What's apt me and told me he has been feeding him...Hopefully, people will feed Carlito till we return next year. Hotel Montezuma Pacifico is a gem! we love the vibe.I would never stay at a fancy resort!!! love the locals,Pura Vida!!!

I traveled throughout Costa Rica for two weeks on bicycle. Montezuma was the last two days of my trip. After arriving in the town without lodging, I decided to wander into Carlos' establishment. Immediately I noticed the attention to cleanliness and detail. The tables were perfect set in the dining room, ready for the next round of customers. The room was exactly what I had expected considering this is a budget friendly place. The A/C worked great and Carlos and I quickly became friends. He spent several hours with me, working to package my bicycle up so the tour busses could take me back to San Jose. Then, the day before I was planning on leaving, Carlos tells me he needs to drive into San Jose and would be happy to take me with him! What a great guy, he went out of his way to make every interaction with someone a positive one. One little giggle I got was finding out the three women that work for him are all named Maria. When he calls for one of them they all respond! It might sound silly, but it was just so fitting. Laughter all the time at no ones expense. Really good people. Go here and patronize Carlos.

Carlos, the owner, is very kind and helpful! He gives to his guests a lot of information about Montezuma activities. He knows everybody and can help you to organize your vacation in the best way!!! He suggested to us Zuma Tour (a local tour agency) for some excursions and the experience was great (discount price if booking by Carlos!). Breakfast is simple but good. The hotel position is strategic because in the main street of Montezuma so near to every kind of shop.

Good location, away from the noise of the main strip but still right in town. The rooms are clean as you'd want (a few ants, sure but no big deal and to be expected for Central America) and the air-conditioning works great. The highlight for sure though, was the incredibly kind host. I believe his name is Carlos, but the owner really is amazingly kind.

Nice room with air conditioning and a big bed. The bathroom looked nice and clean. I still don't like the way the showers are heated here and in other places nearby though. Also the fact that you can't open the door from the outside without a key is a slight inconvenience when you are staying here with someone else.
