Hotel Moonlight

We stayed at Hotel Moonlight after returning from trekking. Right from the moment we checked in, the staff were polite, helpful and committed to making our stay memorable. The rooms are basic, but extremely clean and, as the hotel is set back off the street, much quieter than previous hotels. The rooftop is beautiful in the evening to look out over the city and the buffet breakfast was one of the better ones we experienced.

This was my 8th stay at hotel Moonlight. Once again thank you to the management, reception & staff for making this an enjoyable stay. Hotel staff were friendly and we're able to answer any questions. The breakfast buffet suited many tastes with a variety of foods. There were numerous different foods available with the lunch and dinner menus. The rooms were clean, spacious with great attention to the small details. Eg complimentary coffee, tea and water in the rooms. The gardens and courtyards were well maintained, quiet and peaceful, a relaxing atmosphere. Don't forget to go up the 8th floor to see the views. I would highly recommend a stay in this hotel. The location is super central and close to the the marketplace.|Atmosphere is great, rooms are neat and comfortable, definitely value for money..... Manager Hari was very kind and accommodating to the whole group... I highly recommend this place and will certainly come back.

Stayed here before and after trekking up to Everest Base Camp.||The rooms are neat and tidy, with some obviously better than others, but I was grateful for the sleep after the trek.||Breakfast buffet is good, and the hotel is close to all tourist attractions in the Thamel area. You can change money for a better rate at the front desk than what is offered on the street.||The staff are very friendly and willing to help you should you have any requests of questions.

Fantastic location - Accessible by road but walk through a little alley and you're in the middle of the hustle and bustle. Comfortable rooms and excellent breakfast. Fantastic, friendly service.

I chose this hotel to celebrate my birthday and wow it exceeded my expectations. I had a very memorable and fantastic exeperience at Hotel Moonlight. All the staff members were very hospitable and always ready to help. Special thanks to Nabin who communicated with me since the beginning and always ready to answer my queries. Thank you for doing the extra miles and making sure i only get a unique and the best experience in Nepal. To those handsome and professional drivers Anil and Sobet, general manager Jiv and cheerful Umaa, receptionist and restaurant staff, all good security members and beautiful people. For me, the standout feature was the rooftop and garden terrace—ideal spots for morning coffee or evening unwinding with panoramic views of Kathmandu. Service here is truly outstanding. The staff—ever-smiling and intuitive—consistently went the extra mile, whether helping with travel arrangements, resolving minor hiccups like ATM card issues, or simply making me feel warmly welcomed. Breakfast deserves a separate mention: a thoughtfully curated buffet served amidst greenery that adds just the right touch to begin your day. The hotel also offers excellent facilities—from a spa and café to banquet spaces and travel assistance, making it both a functional and boutique experience. Minor room for improvement? A bit more variety in breakfast or extra focus on occasional service details—but overall, Hotel Moonlight offers great value and heartwarming hospitality. It’s not just a stay—it’s a slice of Kathmandu comfort.
