We have stayed multiple times at the Motel One chain and have always been satisfied with the service. We specifically choose your hotels because we travel with our Labrador, and in other cities such as Munich, Paris, and Rotterdam, we have never faced any issues. We always paid for the room as well as the dog’s stay. There were no complaints about the size of the dog. The only limitation we encountered was during breakfast, where dogs are only allowed on the terrace. Apart from that, free movement within the hotel, including the bar and restaurant, has always been possible.
For our recent trip to Berlin, we booked a room well in advance. On 23 August 2025, upon arrival, we went through the standard check-in procedure. The gentleman at the reception was polite, and we communicated in English. We paid for our stay and for our dog.
Unexpectedly, a blonde female receptionist interfered in our conversation with unreasonable complaints. She behaved rudely and inappropriately, claiming that we should stay on the 2nd floor instead of the 10th, although we did not choose the room ourselves. Her behavior was unprofessional. Moreover, despite the fact that we were speaking English, she suddenly started addressing us in Russian, which was both strange and uncomfortable for us.
When we expressed our disappointment and said that we would never stay at this hotel again, she seemed pleased with this response, which made the situation even more unpleasant.
