Hotel Motel One Essen

Wonderful place, clean, great location dead center, Christmas Market right outside the door. Rooms were modern and comfortable, not too small. Some more amenities and a complimentary coffee/tea option (at the bar or in the room) would be nice. Breakfast was simple but with all the right items and of good quality! The markup for the Christmas Market makes it a bit pricey, but given the excellent location that's okay. Other hotels in the area aren't any cheaper.

Excellent location. Easy parking just 2min. Away. |The atmoshere was welcoming. Lounge style. Calm and eclectic design. Family and dog friendly. The room 718 we stayed at was small but sufficient for us two adults. Small balcony with view over the Christmas market.|However no fridge. The bed was a comfy queen-sized bed.

The room is just a bed, TV, bathroom and basic table and chair. No kettle or coffee sachets or even water bottle. Only one paper cup and that too didn’t get replaced upon use. No wardrobe or cupboard , just a couple of shelf spaces and hanger rods. The staff are courteous and professional. Location is good as it is surrounded by shops, bars, restaurants etc. the staff responded promptly to an early checkin request and ensured the stay was pleasant except for lack of amenities I expect from a hotel chain at the tariff I paid.

Fantastic hotel, great breakfast (with vegan options 🥰), clean rooms 👏, a fantastic bar, and an excellent location 💯. Highly recommended! 💯 Thank you for the wonderful stay!

Very small but clean rooms. Very simple service, no slippers, no shoe sponge, no sewing kit. It is too expensive during K Show. The location is good.

The rooms are too small, the toilet and shower even smaller. For the price that is being charged per room per night this feels like a rip off. You will pay a lot for the location and get a very small room in return. The breakfast was very disappointing as well... There are better hotels offering you better, larger rooms with balconies in Essen Center at an even cheaper price.

In the heart of the city. The rooms are big and clean, the hotel is pretty and spacious, the breakfast is good. What else could one ask for ?

We're a big fan of the Motel One chain, this one met expectations + Good location, very friendly staff, nice lounge area, clean rooms, firm mattress, good shower. It was quiet, the rooms are well insulated. - Only public parking available, 13 euro per day at the parking garage close by. - There was an event on the square in front of the hotel, that was very loud, also in the hotel room. Luckily didn't last long into the evening.

Modern and reasonably priced hotel in the very city center of Essen, however it was very quite. There was a strange noise all night, but not loud, maybe from the AC, luckily not very annoying. The hotel is located at the Kennedy Platz which is one of the main sqares in the center. If the weather is good you can just walk out of the door and sit outside in one of the bars and café s around. They can also be an alternative for breakfast if you do not want to have it in the hotel. We did not try it. 7,50 EUR. If you traveld by car it is likely that you need to use one of some public car parks. Today is our first day and yesterday we were lucky and found a place on the street where parking is free of charge 8pm 10am. Rooms are sufficiently but not very larg. Bath room fairly small, but ok. Very clean. Bed quite comfortable (I like the matress a bit softer, but it was ok anyhow.) No wardrobe, but alternatives are available. In a nutshell: good! Especially for the price. Alternatives I can recommend: Mövenpick near by and Rheinischer Hof 5 10 minutes away by car, in a nice neighborhood.
