Hotel Motel One Leipzig-Nikolaikirche

If you really don’t mind where you stay; if your desire for taste - in decor and food - is in the ‘take it or leave it’ category, then one night here is probably not going to cause your sensibilities too much disturbance. But… it’s another one of those hotels that use their space to the best of their advantage. Ie not much for you! Room are very small and equipped with the minimum of mod-cons though the bed was not uncomfortable! And there was hot and cold running water. Breakfast was very cramped and they had managed to remove the taste from the food (fruit especially). But one short night is acceptable - particularly as your eyes are closed for most of the time… .

as always with motel one it offers one of the best value for money experiences at gorgeous places. here in front of the famous Nikolaikirche. i had a room with a french balcony wirh direct view of the church.

A good, well stocked bar. Breakfast is continental, sadly none of the thinly sliced cheese on offer has any flavour, but the bread is good. The room was comfortable and you can open the window. The shower was very effective, too.

Stayed for four nights, August 2024, and couldn't fault it. It's a very good hotel right in the middle of Leipzig city centre. Clean rooms, good breakfast, lovely staff. Rooms are on the small side, basic, but who stays in them except to sleep. Go out to one of the very good bars or restaurants.

Nothing can beat the location of the Hotel in the old city center, depending on the room one can even get quite a good view. The staff was friendly but didn’t seem like they tried to find solutions for problems. The rooms are quite nice with a modern interior and a spa like atmosphere.

Hotel Motel One is a nice, clean, modern hotel in a very central location of Leipzig. The rooms are modern but a little more basic than I thought they would be. It’s a comfy stay if you’re just exploring the city.

Overall good value for money and great location. Unfortunately we were unlucky - one of the two lifts was out of order (3rd floor was manageable for those able to take the stairs) and the nearby construction noise starting before 8a on a Saturday morning was unacceptable. In addition it was mentioned (only in the hotel after arrival) that there would be construction work from 9a from the garage - the drill hammer noise starting sharp at 9 was the final straw to downgrade the rating. So if you plan to book I would recommend to check beforehand about the construction work and other issues that might impact your stay. Next time we will try one of the other two Motel One hotels nearby.

Well what can I say. This hotel went above and beyond to ensure I was ok during my 14day quarantine in Germany. Checked in on me every other day, brought my breakfast to the door, ensured I had everything I needed.||||They gave me a bigger room due to the length of my stay. Luckily I got a nice window view of the Nikolaikirche Church. The WiFi was superb and free, perfect for watching netflix and social media.||||If you want a takeaway delivered to your room, you can. If you want a Amazon parcel delivered to your room you can, just make sure you let reception know.||||During your stay, if you have anything that needs kept in the fridge, again speak with reception. ||||All I can say is a big thanks to the Motel One Leipzig-Nikolaikirche Team and thank you for making me feel like im at home.

The location is the only positive that we experienced. The location of this hotel is fantastic in the same square as Nilolaikirsche. It is an easy walk from the train station. The gentleman who greeted us at the reception was terrible and unwelcoming. He bearly spoke English, and refused to honor our voucher for a complementary breakfast for two claiming that I did "not click the breakfast reservation button" when I reserved the room. We later found out that breakfast is a buffet, so extending us the courtesy would have made happy guests. The room was very small with hardly any room to open both suitcases. The room claimed to have a safe, but there was none. It was difficult to control the lights, as it was either on with the room card in the slot or off by removing the card. The TV would not turn off, and we were stuck with a constant hour loop of a burning fireplace. There were two elevators, but only one was working. The working elevator took forever to arrive. We would have taken the stairs if we were not on the fifth floor. The cleaning staff blocked the hallway each morning with their carts and expected the guests to get out of their way. It was ok for staying one or two nights, but I would not stay there any longer.

This hotel is absolutely fantastic, and I highly recommend staying here. The location is perfect, and some of the rooms overlook the plaza and the Nikolaikirche. We received a corner room with two balconies that overlooked the plaza, and it was a delight to watch the people and excitement of the city. There are so many great restaurants, bars, and bakeries nearby. We paid $113 for our room, including breakfast, which was delicious. The staff members with whom we interacted were very friendly, and the bed was super comfy. I will definitely stay here again when I am next in Leipzig. We parked in the Q-Park Augustusplatz parking deck, which was 15 euro for overnight parking. Leipzig is very walkable, so we did not need to drive once we arrived at the hotel.

We stayed there on October 5 and everything was fine (a quiet & spotless room, and pleasant staff at the reception desk) - but the room was really MINISCULE and it would have been very unpleasant staying for more than one night. Meanwhile; it's in a great location, plus the breakfast buffet (for which there's an extra charge) was *really* good.
