Where to Stay in Bogotá When You Visit (Updated 2025)

"I stayed in a historic hotel set in a beautiful 200-year-old colonial home that blends modern amenities like flatscreen TVs and Wi‑Fi with luxury touches such as a sauna, spa, a delicious complimentary breakfast served in a lovely courtyard, and a rooftop dining area; the area felt nice and quiet, though the hotel sits on a very steep hill." - Matthew Kepnes

We had a great time at Hotel Muisca. The location is excellent, in Candelaria, a short walk away from Bogotá's main sites and museums. The room was very comfortable, breakfast was excellent and staff were extremely helpful

Muisca has old world charm... There are 3 floors with a very narrow spiral staircase. There are no accommodations for those who are wheelchair bound. It's rooms are quite small, the amenities are sparse, and the walls are paper-thin. If it's comfort that you seek, this is not the hotel for you. Think more of a vintage hostel. When you leave for the day, to possibly explore your surroundings, you must turn in your room key at the front desk and be let back in, only after you've rang the doorbell. I made a 6 day, 5 night reservation, and after 2 nights--I cancelled the remainder of my reservation forsaking charm for comfort. If you are a traveler that requires very little, when considering a hotel then Hotel Muisca is for you.

I would highly recommend this hotel. Not only are the rooms beautiful, but what made this experience was Carlos and his family. They are so welcoming and so eager to help. We needed to wake up at 3am to catch a flight to the rainforest and Carlos woke up early and made sure that we had a taxi waiting for us and even made us a packed breakfast to take along. They also cook home made food on their beautiful roof terrace with views over the city one side and the mountains the other. Honestly one of my favourite city trip hotels I have ever been to. Thanks Carlos

We stayed for 2 days and everything was great! Very helpful personnel, all the amenities you need and very charming - colonial environment. Location very convenient to discover candelaria and many nice restaurants and bars nearby. Totally recommend it.

Stayed here on the last night of my vacation in Colombia. The hotel is very eclectic and has tons of charm. Located in a history rich neighbourhood, within short walking distances of cafes, restaurants, galleries and historic buildings. Room and common areas were all clean and nicely put together. Would stay again.

One of the worst place we stayed in Colombia, we changed to this hotel as last minute and was a big mistake, no staff speaks English, they use that to their advantage they will not help with luggage and they will not tell that water in room will be charged, breakfast you have to order proper night and very very limited choices, it’s not that close to center as it’s 6 block uphill climb on way back, staff except Carlos is least to say not smart. Especially Vivian and Sharon be careful as they will try to take extra money from you. All and all it was a motel 6 experience and should not have stayed there

Stayed here for two nights, had a great stay. Rooms we equipped and clean. Staff very friendly and helpful. Lovely breakfast with great views if you have jt on the terrace. Only downside was noise travels in this hotel - no issues with noise from outside but inside it can be noisy with people coming/going throughout the night. Nothing that ear plugs won’t sort! A great location to stay, very well priced.
